  • hmmm bad audio qualitiy! :(

  • the Great songs from Little Richard is" Rock n Roll", listen to Lillte Richard over in Viet nam. It's the U.S.A .

  • sent from heaven too earth by the rock and roll gods for us mere mortals!

  • a gen mix of prince and bruce lee.and you get Little Richard ;-)

  • @yakulanicksan No that would be the other way around. Little Richard was doing this when prince was yet a baby. Who do you think Prince patterns himself after? Little Richard is one of the many artist Prince borrowed from. Also mix in James Brown, Sly Stone & Jimmy Hendrix ....then you get Prince!

  • @dkn1362 yes i know.but he stil look's like a mix of them on the video ;-) ps:do you know why he never did dance to much.was there something wrong with he's hip???

  • fuck techno

  • Little Richard is explosive and charismatic. His ostrageous personality captured the music´s rebbelious spirit and his franticallly piano playing and raspy, shouted vocals defined its sound.

  • 4 people don't know good music when they hear it.. -____-

  • he created rock, will they be an artist like this in this era??

  • Twisting and tapping right now.

  • The real king of Rock n´ Roll.

  • @L0SUAVES i agree....but you forgot chuck!!!.....little and chuck did it all themselves and wrote basically every note they played. that has so much more meaning behind it to say they are the Kings of Rock. if you watch the video this incredible show is done from,,,,little attacks chuck,,,and calls him a nice,,,,,black berry. sooo funny to hear the rivalry between them. and to think,,,they are both alive today...(they ARE arent thye?)....is beyond belief.

  • Get that man a taller piano. . . . And put the mic where it will pick up the piano keys.

  • uma música quente e muito boa, um cantor ótimo e inconfundível.

a hot and very good music, great singer and an unmistakable

  • He was HOT as a youngster...

  • I was fortunate enough to live through this age. I listened to Rythm and Blues stations in Kansas City before it was cool to do so. Although I now like 70s and 80s rock, I still like his music. And I am a 73 year old white boy.

  • Im more of a heavy metal guy, but damn this is awesome

  • I think it's funny that people give credit to the New York Dolls for starting Glam Rock. Back in the 50's, a black man ratted his hair, wore eyeliner, slamming his instrument screaming at the top of his lungs. Yeah, that's right. Right here is the true founder of Glam Rock. Little Richard was lonnnng before the Dolls. People need to give credit where it's due!!!!

  • INSANE....!!!!!!!!!!!

  • CHECK IT OUT!! SEAN GALE playing Good Golly Miss Molly!!

  • Now this man, Little Richard, is a true legend. And he's a minister of religion in the South; only in America.

  • this man makes whatever song awesome

  • This is a bad imitation of the divine ESQUERITA !

  • Ye man,Little Richard raged hard,if you sit still,you must have had a stroke,and didn't realise.

  • Man, did he deliver the goods. Just his damn outfit was worth the price of admission, then he blows the roof off with his piano playing and drives you wild with his singing. Who can do this today? Can anybody rock even half as hard? At least Prince knew who to copy.

  • man gigdog your right im rocking right now

  • wow i th ought it was a big deal when prince dressed like this for his kiss video and here i see LR dressed lke this in 72 whoa.. wonder what that looked l ike back in those days?

he had guts and balls lol

  • The real Mr or should I say Miss Rock and Roll? Learned to play from guys like him. Thanks to all of you who made it possible for pucks like me to play. Thank God I kept my wits and played with Zappa. I got the joke.

  • Красавчик... и все тут )))

  • omg i see now ehere PRINCE got his look smiles

  • Onya Richard. Thanks for your contribution to our youth. Jam Jar

  • HAS ANYONE EVER EVER EVER COMPARED PRINCE TO LITTLE RICHARD ??? I MEAN THE ARTIST FORMERLY KNOWN AS IS A CARBON COPY OF THE KING OF ROCK N ROLL! FROM THE OUTFITS, TO THE HAIRDO, TO THE SCREAMING LMAO

  • and the ones who aren't crippled would get up and dance...

  • I never realized the resemblance of little Richard and Prince, my gosh is like a copy, like a little Richard's clon even the way he dreeses is just a copy of Little Richard

  • @ricosolo56

    duh?

  • Little Richard is probaby one of the most underrated performers in rock'n'roll history, likely because of his transsexuality. But why should that matter? The voice, the moves, the PIANO! My hero, full facial makeup and all. No one ever like him, and that's a true compliment! GENIUS!

  • @bryonyz1

hey don't forget the eye liner =D

  • Muito bom!

  • what an influnce he made on rock n roll....

    an all those that fallowed.....

  • the KING of rock.

  • Sadly he was booed off the stage and Chuck Berry came on and rocked till the audience dropped,Bill Haley was the star of the show followed by Jerry Lee then Chuck and Bo Richard a hero of mine blew it big time get the full unedited version and see

  • You have to remember the context. In 1972 this music was something so alien, so removed from the pretension that had come totally infused pop music...

  • Molly's such an awesome sweet name ;)

  • this man was so underrated better than the stones as good as CB, more energy than ELVIS.!@

  • I was able to do it for 8 whole seconds!

  • He's copying Prince

  • @iluvjsjsjs He's copying Prince? Hmmm Little Richard was doing all that stuff in the 50's dude but Prince only came along in the 80's

  • @iluvjsjsjs Wow.... Prince didn't even start until 1978... Do your research...

  • you can't handle the truth, elvis is the big papa ,richard is a little boy

  • @georro elvis took songs without telling anybody

  • @georro

Tell you what - you list Elvis's top ten original compositions, and I'll list Richards top ten compositions and then we'll see who the top dog is.

  • elvis is the king of rock'n roll little richars is the prince

  • @georro

    Other way round, mate....

Listen to Elvis' renditions of Tutti Frutti and Lawdy Miss Clawdy, then listen to Little Richard's - Elvis was amazing, but not a patch on this guy!

  • @UkuLani672 Yip, I agree that Little Richard was the best of the Rock n Rollers from the 50's.

  • @UkuLani672

It depends on the type of the song. Everyone has strengths & weaknesses.

  • ça déménage sévère!!

  • Pom.

    Pa.

    Dour!

    PS what bigdognsb said!

  • I defy anyone to sit in a chair, listen to Little Richard and try not to move their feet!!!

    It can't be done!

  • Hehe not true.. I got my feet in water/soap :P

  • @bigdognsb I DID IT!!! i got tingly @ 1:50 mark

  • @bigdognsb i do it all the time

  • @bigdognsb I tried tying my feet to the chair but they still moved of their own accord

  • Woooooooooooooo!

  • I'm white, i'm in my thirty somethings.... I defy any human being alive not to start gyrating to that beat? Little Richard, I've read your biography and all I can say is what an absolute legend you are. A true inspiration, unique and to be admired from the first note you played and then forevermore.... what a talent!

  • Little Richard has been a favorite of mine since a little girl. Awesome talent. He is a member of my church and I have had the privilege of shaking his hand. He is awefully generous I might add.

  • @ctklmnj you sure it wasnt his penis you were shaking

  • gold diggerrrrrrrr

  • prince is NOTHING compared to Little Richard!

  • Little Richard and Chuck Berry the real rock&roll men, the rest just imitators... sorry

  • This tune turns me on on all aspects =D

  • This is the meaning of Rock'n'Roll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Micheal has more james brown style by far

  • Agreed, this guy was one major player and influence on the whole history of pop/rock, though I think Prince drew his influences from a number of sources, Hendrix being another.

    Rich.

  • My God! Now i know from where Prince got some inspiration!!!!

  • YOU ARE SO RIGHT!!!!!

  • lol!!! Mister BIG Richard is great!!!

  • I have been saying this for decades (and I bet many of you would agree) Little Richard is the _undeniable_ king of rock n' roll. Rock on, little D, rock on!

  • I think Little Richard is without question ONE of the Kings of Rock and Roll, and only Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis were cocky enough to say it aloud.

  • he is the architect or rock and roll

  • the best!!

  • just like mj queer as a 3 dollar bill.... but legends of thier time,,, rock on richard

  • Awesome talent

  • Now I know who Prince dressess like.

  • LOL i agree

  • @Alphadacka Yeah I agree with you in that it's obvious that Prince was influenced by Little Richard :-)

  • @bloobear1 Everyone since Little Richard has been influenced by Little Richard.

  • @mrhipsterdoofus Dunno about 'everyone' but certainly a whole load of folks did copy him for sure. Brilliant performer

  • @Alphadacka he's a little richard wannabe fashion wise :)

  • the real king , the man from macon georgia startet it all god bless you penniman, great .

  • i agree with you...Michael Jackson learned a lot from Little Richard too..

  • I agree. Michael has a lot of Little Richard's style.....his howls, screams and overall flashiness. Although, I know he credits James Brown and Jackie Wilson as his biggest influences. Why would you say MJ is gay roblau? He's not.

  • Little Richard is the best.! Did you know the lead singer of Motorhead also thinks he's the best? How cool is that!

  • Lemmy considers Motorhead a rock n' roll outfit, which is another way of saying that the band shares more in common with Chuck Berry and Little Richard then they do with, say, the Stooges or the (shudder) Moody Blues.

For a little mind fuck, try superimposing the lyrics/cadence of Maybellene on a Motorhead tune. It works frighteningly well.

  • From Russia with love! Litle Richard is great rocker in the world

  • thats how rock and roll meant to be to played. not depressing thing ass you can see nowdays well litlerichard the best

  • He, Chuck Berry, and Dave Edmunds. Rock solid.

  • Not the only rocker on keys....Jerry Lee Lewis and Great Balls of Fire is up there too!

  • Everyone is influenced by someone...little richard ripped off Billy Wright (although I would rather say 'influenced by) and what about Esquerita???get googling

  • the king from macon georgia and nothing compares, thanks richard, mc cartney said so and i tottally agree, god bless you jbd

  • The one and only true rocker on the keys.

  • Now I know where Prince got his "look". Little Richard is the original!!!

  • Whoa, you're totally right!

  • I've been listening to Little Richard since the early 50's and along with Chuck Berry, Elvis, and Jerry Lee Lewis he shares the crown of the "King of Rock and Roll". They really rocked the kids back then and now. For me, Chuck Berry and Little Richard are the best, however. Just my opinion

  • magicmark04 NEVER EVER FORGET "BO DIDDLEY" else I gotta come over yo house,,bust yo head. INNOVATOR,,ORIGINATOR,ROCK&ROLL GLADIATOR "BO DIDDLEY"

  • A great performance of a great R & R Classic, 08-72 in England. Richard with a much smaller unit including a new drummer - while he fights the elements, i.e. bad mikes, bad lighting. Chuck Berry got the kudos in the press the next day.

  • Little Richard rocks

  • Fantastic

  • no he is the Hendrix of vocal cords

  • YEAya!

    dick! straight killin it.

  • hes the hendrix of piano lol

  • nope one of the other men who were there already has that title his name is Jerry lee Lewis!

  • Jerry Lee would disagree...but you probably know better, huh?

  • jeesus look at little richard's outfit. he has predated prince's look by at least 10 years or something!!

  • This man is the TRUE KING OF ROCK -N- ROLL! the country fans can keep Elvis. because that is really all he sang. This is Rock not love me tender. what a whimp!

  • It annoys me 2 how few get it about the real kings v guys like Elvis who was "king" by ripping off the black people and repackaging a homogenized version 4 white kids who couldn't have known better (w/o time spent hanging around black churches or juke joints of the 1940s and 50s--unlikely, huh?) What he was was a decent interpreter of the "race music" of his day. Col. Parker steadily stripped his sound of any vestiges of balls to cater to little white girls who I guess could only take so much.

  • spot on mate. elvis only got signed because he was a white man who could sing like a black man.

  • "Elvis who was 'king' by ripping off the black people." Give us an example of a "black" person Elvis ripped off.

  • You forgot to give us an example of a "black" person Elvis ripped off.

  • SAM PHILLIPS wanted it watered down COL.PARKER was still in GIBSONTON,FLA doing cock fightd in the CARNIVALS at that time. "ELVIS' OPENED THE DOORS

  • dantean....you have put the most stupidest fucking comment on youtube i have ever seen you know nothing about music and by reading your stupid comment you know nothing about Elvis, for a start Elvis had put down ''thats alright mama'' ''good rockin tonight'' and many others before little richard or chuck berry was ever heard of, Elvis was'nt first neither was little richard or chuck berry

  • Those were all written by black artists. And performed by them before Elvis performed the songs. You really shouldn't be such an asshole in public.

  • universalradio: These werent all written by black artists. Many of Little Richards hits were co writtten by john Marascalo, a white guy

  • Do your own research -- and look at all of his songs, plus the singing style -- but he never came close, really. I think that he was always unhappy because he was never able to develop his talent himself. As a ballad singer he was fine, but didn't compare to black R&Roll singers, in hindsight. He might have been good as a front man like Jagger or Paige -- if he'd been born 15 or 20 years later, and he'd have been more independent. Col Parker was a parasite, sucked the life out of him.

  • No - it was their parents who could only take so much. They shaped their kids tastes. I was listening to Ray Charles when I was 11, pretty much had me hooked.

  • he was great

  • Dear Viewer: Little Richard makes Ray Manzarek and Elton John question their own Organ Playing and perhaps and that guy from the fifties that married his cousin. Dan K., Grafton, Ma.

  • Ooh, my soul, how he was plaaaayin' that piano!

  • Fake it 'til you make it...

  • Badly... He still rocks though.. The guy is a legend...

  • the true king of rock'n'roll!!!

  • Little Richard was a great showman and in the top five R&Rers, but the true king has to be CHUCK BERRY.

  • Im 10yrs and i love this music no matter how old it is

  • I love finding Fantastic stuff like this here. I was born in 1960, and have been thru 45 rpm records, Albums, 8 Tracks, Cassettes, Concerts, MTV, CDs, Concerts, DVDs, Clubs, and more Concerts - Occasionally, I'd see and/or hear something that validated the attention I paid to Rock and Roll. It was infrequently, which sucked, but on those occasions, I would feel like I had caught a big fish. I feel fortunate to see this here.

    Long Live YouTube -

  • I am with you there. I was born in '63 and have seen all those things too and these days too little great music such as this.

  • great little !!!

    bandadinoe

    you tube

  • Little Richard doing his Oldie Festival thing in 1972 - a little roadweary and not helped at all by faulty wiring all over the place (plus having to break-in a new drummer!). Still, it's a near-great performance from England that August. Notice Lee Allen on sax. Oh my Soul!!

  • you are the man who startet it all. rock on

    Dear Richard!!

  • Awesome post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thankyou for the upload! Little Richard is truly the King of Rock & Roll
