Mistake drills include a grenade slipping out of a soldiers hand when he throws it, they use live grenades for those drills and have to find low ground (like a ditch) so the blast is deflected above them.

And don't forget the whole battle of Monte Cassino, only won because of the French who succeeded where all other allied forces were unable to.
And also battle of Bir-Hakeim where 3700 french soldiers stood against the 40000 soldiers of Afrika Korps to cover british retreat.

George Patton never said such nonsense. In fact he had been trained to modern warfare by French instructors in 1917. And in 1944 one of the best divisions in Patton's army was the French 2nd Armoured Div., which was generally his spearhead. Stop faking history.

A failed attempt to reclaim a foreign Country, trumps the acquiescence of an entire Nation at home. A loss on one of many multiple fronts, trumps the acquiescence of the same Nation at home. The seizing of a small craft having strayed across an unclear border, by a much larger force, purely to win a tactical victory in the media, hardly represents a victory for Iran than holds any substance. Be a good fellow Mon Brave, and try to pick examples that actually help your argument.

All right, my good man. This cliché that you have about the French waving white flags all day long, you might be surprised to discover that the French have a similar one about the British (and much more about the USA). I know that it's only clichés, not history, but they still shape public opinions. Whatever our country, we all remember our past victories better than our defeats. For example, most French have never heard of Blenheim, and most British have never heard of Walcheren.

During the napolic war the russians kicked you asses SO hard! Ad during ww2 the germans kicked you even harder. In many battles the frances fleed the field just in rumors that german troops were in the area. And the vietcong kicked you even harder (if its posible).

gvm79:1)That is not meant as a slur- If it had been, there would have been more following. 2)Afghanistan is only part of the situation add in Iraq, and the numbers go the other way- by the way, I work as a civilian AB Seaman onboard the MSC (Military Sealift Command) LMSR Ships and deliver supplies to Iraq (via Basrah) and have made quite a few trips on The USNS Fisher, USNS Gilliland, and the USNS Red Cloud. And as such, I find it ironic that I'm being accused of having no decency...be nice.
