I love Richard Christy as an album drummer, but he doesn't really impress me that much as a soloist. None of this stuff is particularly difficult to do, but the main thing is that there doesn't seem to be any structure to the solo.

(a) If your pinkies stay on the sticks, you can't use something we drummers like to call finger technique, and (b) if a drummer is better than you and he uses a different finger technique than you, that is no reason for you to lose respect for said drummer. This drummer is good enough for Death, hence he's equal to Reinert and Hoglan on the ability scale, and with that immense talent, regardless of his pinkies or your ego, he's worthy of even your respect
