no is very unlike to get a virus on linux...also on ps3 you can run it just in emulation, and suck so much...linux on ps3 = crap

is extremely slow..its not worth it, until sony will gave us access to real hardware, but this wont happen soon..

There are some viruses for Linux but not many, there is like 1000 viruses world wide in Linux where windows would properly have millions. Apparently Linux is a target for viruses and the viruses counts are going up.

Well it depends one what you like, Ubuntu is the latest version of Linux, but there will be some things you wont be able to do on ubuntu as the PS3 wont be able to support it. Linux Yellow dog was specifically made for the PS3 so anything that come with it will be compatible

You can play all the programs that are with Linux Yellow dog but I dont think you can play programs that are downloaded becasue your PS3 wont have the correct hardware to run it.

Yes you can...

On the USB drive make a subdirectory \ps3\otheros\ in which to save otheros.bld and otheros.self.

Too be honest, it would be more easier to install it via a DVD.

nooo Ubuntu is only about 700MB and YellowDog is 3GB...

i used 2 have ubuntu but dat was before i got n HDTV and wen i tryed it it looked WORST cuz it was at 720x480 and it looked really small n blurry n dats wen i installed YelowDog

I dunno whether ubuntu will be any better on PS3, it should be as it a more better Linux OS. I will be making a new video on Ubuntu after x-mas. Ubuntu will need more memory then Yellow dog and it might run a bit slower then yellow dog aswell because it is a bigger OS.

hmm, while istalling linux did you set the highest resolution of your tele e.g 720P, 1080I, 1080P?

While Kboot was displayed on screen you need to select a resoultion capable of ya TV.

The song is, Static-x - Only and i took me a while to install as you have to format your PS3 first that takes ages.

Can you still do all the normal things you can do on the regular PS3, ie: play your games, access the PSN?

You cant play PS3 games or access PSN through Linux, but you can always boot it back up in Game OS as I demonstrated and do it through that. You can still go on the internet with Firefox and also play your DVDs through Linux etc.
