I use herbal oil, and it does smell like something you use on your skin. But I love it. It leave my hair feeling soft, and shiny. You right everybody cant use the same thing. But I just cant do without my herbal oil.
Well... im 13 and people say i have mix girl hair becuz it appears soft but i want my hair longer. My mom says i should take better care of my hair ,What products tdo you use?
I guess it's hard to resist buying that Herbal Oil b/c I have it too. I also never use it b/c of the scent. Just doesn't smell like an oil that should be on the hair. Since you mentioned the baby smell though, I may now consider using it on my 1 year old.
i don't get it if you wash your hair once a week doesn't it mess up your hair from the relaxer cuz u know allot of people say when you have a relaxer don't get it wet cause it will mess up
megan, you should try keracare sulfate free moisturizing shampoo. It is great! It appears that you have hair similar to mine which is fine strands and a coarse texture. I could be wrong but give it a try.
wow i feel the same way i do not like africa's best either ... i couldnt stand the smell and i didnt feel like the oil really penetrated my hair (think i spelled that right lol) its like it just laid on top of it or something if that makes any sense
What shampoo do you use?? The product that im about to start using Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Creamy Aloe Shampoo and Organic Root Stimulator Oilve Oil Replenishing Conditioner??
do you think that's a good product to use, cause i have thick and a little damage hair??
i never tried the silken child shamppo, but i love the silk hair moisturizer and the detangling spray !!!! wow the detangling spray worked miracles on my hair !!!! i am 32 weeks post, my hair tangles, wow, i have tried others, but none have worked as well as others !!! i also, love like the african best oil, it works great on my hair !. I want to thank you for your very informative videos and inspiring me to start my hair journey !!!!
I love how you make it a point to research your hair products before you purchase them. I need to do that more. Great video. I'm about to check out your amla oil video again
Honestly the BEST Moisturizing Shampoo is by Shea Moisture - Moisture Retention Shampoo (it's sulfate free) and it is SO AMAZING!!! It keeps your hair detangle like if you're using a conditioner but it's a shampoo!!! It's sold a Target... I agree the Africa's Best does smell like a baby powder/ baby oil (lol)
I love the Silk Elements for my daughter...yes it does have a greasy feel while wet...she has naturally curly hair that absorbs water and when try is "DRY" lol....that's y I love it, it places moisture n her hair....and I agree about the Herbal Oil.....I hate it....if a product smells bad r funny 2 me I won' even use it n a clients hair...
Nexxus makes amazing shampoos. I just their thickening shampoo & even though it is made to thicken your hair it is the most moisturizing shampoo I've ever used.
i dont like the herbal oil either and the reason is the smell. if it smelled like baby oil to me then i would be happy but it had a funky smell and my hair smelled horrible after a few days of it being in my hair lol so i just used it on my body, mixed with %100 shea butter. made my skin buttery smooth...
That shampoo shouldn't be that consistancy!! I use that on all my nieces hair and mine.It is so thick that I have to put it in the closet upside down... take it back and exchange it!
soooo how ironic is it that I bought the silken child shampoo about a month ago and I absolutely hate'd it as well, it just did NOT work for my hair what so ever
ITA. I don't only hate that oil, I loathe it. That scent is so annoying and loud that it feels like it is following me, trying to smother me. I hate the scent. If they changed it, I might like it. It also doesn't feel clean. I like clean oils like coconut oil and almond oil. It feels heavy and yucky.
I bought the African oil a few years ago and it's still full, sitting in my pantry. I don't use it on my hair anymore because I also don't like the smell or the way it weighs my hair down, but I use it in my bath water lol!
Meg do you or any of your subbies have any thoughts on using sulfate-free products that have alcohol? I want to start co-washing, but I've been looking at the line of herbal essences and other conditioners that i've heard so much about, but they still have alcohol in them. Doesn't alcohol counter the benefits of "moisturizing"?
@drlty1 use beauty 4 ashes haircare line, its god inspired and sulfate, paraben, alchohol and every methyl ethyl or chemical free. completely organic and made fresh to order. i use and i am somali i have soft curly hair and it thickened and gave me healthy longer hair.
I like the fact that even tho u didnt like the oil u didnt bash it u said that it culd be good for someone els just not you. I love that oil and have been using it for yrs!! =) but thanks for not bashing the products like most ppl do...have a good one!!!
You look gorgeous in this video, well you always do. I seriously am in love with your hair and makeup here. But use your old shampoo to wash other hair things. :)
hey megz.love you to reeses pieces. im a loyal viewer and im an all natural no relaxer hair girl. my last relaxer was in 2006. i flat iron. so im all natural. whereas you relax which technically makes you a chemical girl. with that said.you complain of your hair being thin. sweetheart are you aware that those chemicals that you apply to your hair in an attempt to cheat your way to straight hair is what is causing the thinning. and the long you use it,the thinner your hair will become.

This is why Tresemme shampoos are my first choice because those shampoos are the only shampoos that know how to really manage my hair ever since it was natural up until now. My second choice is ORS aloe shampoo. I wasn't lying wen i said my hair is thick
Megan I don't like the African Oil either. I didn't mind it on my hair, but the smell was a turn off. I'm glad I'm not the only one. But it's funny because I for one don't like the Neutrogena triple moisture. Then again, I have the conditioner, but it did not work for me. just shows how we are all different.
I have never tried the Silken Child shampoo but the Silken Child moisturizer is great. It comes in a bottle with a pump and it's similar to the Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship but it's lighter and smells better. It won't weigh your hair down. You should try it.
I'm sorry you didn't like Silken Child. I actually use it for my daughter's thick virgin hair and it is AWESOME! I also use the conditioner and detangler and it works so well on her hair. I only wish I had discovered it sooner. Thanks for your videos...I enjoy them! : )
I use the africas best oil. it's ok and the baby oil smell is a bit weird. and i understand what u mean when u say "i dnt like the way it made my hair feel" it can be a bit slippery so i just use a tiiinnnnyyy bit lol :)
I jus start using MAZANI conditioners to see how it would work, since its more expensive than conditioners I already use. I think its OKAY so far. I know it dont really relate. Jus hoping somebody else tried it b4 & had bad experiences? :)
i love silken child in the pink bottle with the pump...it really moisturises my hair especially when i am stretching...and the smell is amazing...i am currently wearing a sew in ponytail so moisturizers are my friend right about now...thanks for the vid Megz...
I love the African's Best!! I have to qo buy some more actually.
Only product that I tried that seemed to be popular was Dr. Miracles Hot Gro treatment. It was definitely hot, but it didn't qrow my hair at all, just took my edqes out. Took a lonq time for me to come back from that. Lol. Then once I did, I qot excited and decided to qet an all black rinse which I'm currently tryinq to repair my hair from.
@ChasityJ90210 whaTt happened to u is the same thing that happened to me my sister and my aunt we tried a few dr miracles products and our edges FELL OUT. lol it looked like we shaved the back of our heads, and that was the last time i used anything that said dr miracles, i had to wear a low ponytail for about two months before i was satisfied with the back of my head. lol
I love your makeup in this video, it looks very clean and natural. It's a look I have been trying to find a tutorial on but I can't. Do you have a makeup tutorial on this look? If not, please please make one! By the way I love your channel :D
Megz, I love the variety of videos, last I checked you were on a hair journey and loved makeup and fashion as well. Keep doing it just the way you are doing it! Btw, this is your channel!
@graciousncube it depends on what you are trying to do to your hair but petroleum, mineral oil, and some sulfates some people tend to stay away from but it all depends on the person.
@graciousncube it depends on what you are trying to do to your hair but petroleum, mineral oil, and some sulfates some people tend to stay away from but it all depends on the person.
@izeprnzess Dr. Bronners ph balance is off. It's too strong for the hair. Go to Kimmytube and she does an experment with that product. Anything that can be used to clean your house, clothes is something I don't want on my hair.

Let me know how to ask you the question i have... Please..
i just recently bought some of the Africa's Best oil and you are right it does smell like baby oil I couldn't figure out the smell. I dnt know if I like it yet on my hair. I am natural and it seems to be a little too greasy to be a scalp oil so I'll try it another way before I rule it out
I think you should do more makeup tutorials than hauls and reviews. It seems like your videos are kind of all over the place rather than targeting a specific topic. Is this more of a hair channel?
@lilhiphopgirl101 it's a beauty channel and she focuses on hair and makeup, but she can def do videos on anything that's beauty related. there aren't any rules on what your channel should be about.
@ybefutile I know but it's usually better to target a specific topic rather than go from topic to topic because people generally don't like that. That's just my opinion. I generally like when a Youtube guru targets a specific thing. A lot of beauty gurus are into makeup and they incorporate other things like outfit of the days and whatnot. Makeup channels are targeted towards makeup, hair channels are targeted more towards hair and so on. Not that I was trying to be rude or anything.
@lilhiphopgirl101 No offense but that gets boring after a while. There's only so much you can say about hair that hasn't been said or done before. Some of her videos she states its requests from people.
@lilhiphopgirl101 Its a everything that megz likes do.... or does channel b/c no matter if its a specific channel for something people are always going to ask about other things that you do or have on....
LOL...it;s so funny that you mentioned that about the smell of the Africa's Best Herbal Oil because I just added a bit on my hair and my boyfriend told me that my ear smelled like baby powder...never again lol
@TUbombshell08 lol, I bought last year and it smells like baby oil/powder and it felt just like it, and I was like no. I used it one time and didn't like it so never again for me too!

i just recently bought some of the Africa's Best oil and you are right it does smell like baby oil I couldn't figure out the smell.

Is this more of a hair channel?
lilhiphopgirl101 1 year ago
@lilhiphopgirl101 it's a beauty channel and she focuses on hair and makeup, but she can def do videos on anything that's beauty related. there aren't any rules on what your channel should be about.
ybefutile 1 year ago

@lilhiphopgirl101 So what it doesn't matter she talks about everything she's always have but they r nice vids.

TUbombshell08 1 year ago
@TUbombshell08 lol, I bought last year and it smells like baby oil/powder and it felt just like it, and I was like no. I used it one time and didn't like it so never again for me too!
