In the first ep. where Depthcharge appears, Optimus tells everyone about Omicron V. Ravage mocks Depthcharge with the memory of Starbase Rugby in the first part of the grand finale. Go to Transformers Wiki, look for Deptcharge, read everything about him, and you'll know about it. Plus the no reference to humans was because the producers didn't explain it well (or forgot to mention it).

Beast Wars/Beast Machines was the last great Transformers animated series. The ones out today (Energon, Armada etc) are far too cartoony, simplistic and childish. Beast Wars dealt with heavy themes like redemption, death, malice, vendettas, etc. It was an animated series for young adults, not some goofy japanimation garbage like the TF series they have out today. I miss this show so much.

The only thing I hate in the beast era is the very last part in Beast Machine's ending probably the last two minutes although the episode was great and the overall Beast Wars and Machines series better than the rest.

I think though they learned a lession from Beast Wars. Unlike its predicesor Beast wars only started out with a total of ten charatcers, which gave plenty of space for character development and thus more likeable characters. Nowadays all the transformers shows do the same thing instead of starting off with two large armies.
