I have a long haired Yorkie and this woman is GOD AWFUL with her poor dog! Ditto Sparkuz! Obviously the lady is a "Hillbilly." That is the type of person that you never have a pet! Poor baby...The lady is a skank.just listen to her talk and then you hear the guy in the background! OMG! One more thing I groom my Yorkie daily and I love doing so they are alot of work, but worth every minute!

@Tanyawilsonlund I'm what you would consider a "Hillbilly" and I don't treat my Yorkie that way. But he does have to be held a little harder than I would like to b/c he doesn't like baths. But yeah, not all "Hillbilly" people treat their animals that way.

As a professional groomer, while a little amateur, there was nothing wrong with how she handled her Yorkie. And shears are a personal preference. I have shears ranging from 7 1/2" long to 10" long and because I am confident in my abilities, the length has little to no effect as far as safety is concerned. Also she has to hold the Yorkie's head so it won't move while she's cutting. It's clear that the people commenting on this video have no clue what actual grooming entails. Beautiful dog :)

Ok realisticlly dogs cry throughout grooming she needs to learn better ways of handling animals ....I just think she needs to worry more about what she is doing than showing people how to do it ,cause you just taught a bunch of idiots to strangle and man handle there dog and her scissors are better than the blue plastic handled craft scissors i saw in another video ....she seemed to cut a straight line and im sure the dog is fine

This was a really horrible video, the lady was being too rough, and those scissors were too big. If the dog had made the wrong move, the lady would of cut his eye out! You can tell that the dog was in pain by the face he was making........ he yelped too!

You guys, be realistic.

You can't be a sissy and groom your dog. You need to be firm, but gentle. Of course the dog might be a little uncomfortable but after a while they'll be desensitized to clippers, brushes and dryers. When that happens they really don't mind being groomed.

In fact grooming your dog is a great bonding experience for you both. You get to interact with your dog, he gets to feel your touch. Win win.

This is terrible! As a yorkie owner and a groomer, i can tell you this is totally unprofessional! Learn to handle your dog better! For starters, There is a HUGE chance that you are going to hurt him with those scissors! YOu have to use the proper grooming tools to insure safety for the animal! Using those gigantic scissors is sinful! I cant believe you would even post this video! I would be ashamed!

Okay I suggust when you brush the dog's fur you need to be gentle, don't just yank it down over and over again, suport it and start brushing the top part of the fur area you are brushing and SOFTLY and work down to the bottom of the fur area, then go over it softer than a yank but not as gentle as I told you to. also I have two yorkies, one male and one female. The female...she has easy to brush fur but the males hair is always on the knotty side and it doesnt bother him one bit he loves being brushed they both do

You can just tie the hair above his eyes into a topknow. It's alot easier than to have to cut it, not to mention less risky. It's a cute hairdo though! :D

Here's a question: Is your dog a show dog?

If not, just take him to the groomer and clip the fur short. It saves lots of time grooming. It isn't really necessary to make it long!

Yeah, this is groomig but in a horrible way.

1st off, wht type of scissors where they using? Not grooming, those are used to cup large items and you rarely even see them in school anymore. Why not spend $5 on proper gear?

2nd, They were not protecting the eyes. They talk about showing the eyes but it's at the cost of allowing tons of tiny pieces of hair call all around the eyes and no doubt some of it got into it.

This is common sense what not to do.

They're probably a kennel and don't groom their babies very often. When they do, they rush through it because they have so many dogs to care for. Kennels are only in for the money. They don't care for the dogs.

Im not a groomer but i have cut my yorkie/shih tzu mix myself and I have never used big scissors like those and I always shielded his eyes with my hand before I cut his hair to prevent from jabbing his eye (obviously) and letting hair fall into his eye as its falling down from being cut. And i for damn sure didnt hold his face like that.

I've been a Yorkie owner for over 12 years now and I shudder every time I see this clip! I would never let this lady handle my dogs like that! You can even hear this little guy squeal while his hair is being pulled! I do my own grooming and a little coaxing/training, love and encouragement goes a long way. Huge scary shears and rough handling does not! Thumbs down!
