  • nice background music what the song name

  • I found a cpu utility a while ago that showed the Atom as having dual core, although I know that is fictitious so just a bug in the speed prog!

I cpu-z and clock the machine to just over 1.7Ghz with no problem - if you use Youtube with Firefox I'm sure you're aware of the adobe flash bug, at least the extra bit of speed stops all the jerky video!!!

  • Its the hyper-threading you saw ..

  • You can do it with any notebook

  • Hello

Do you know how to set the multiper to 12 permanently?

I have tried disabled "speedstep" in bios and also tried setting "always on" in power function. It didn't work!!!

It still swaps multiper to 6 and 12 depending on the loading.

    thx

  • Nice! But still... you never reached the 1600Mhz your Intel ATOM is offering you? Not even when plugged into your power adaptor??

I own the Eee PC 900 (Celeron M ULV based)... and am pretty impressed what you can do with a 900mhz machine :)

  • are you dumb or just plain stupid? first off, go back to school and learn what an atom is. second, the eee pc 901 has got an atom processor which isnt core 2 duo. it is a single chip with a single core, its not an atom duo. it runs at 1.6ghz which can be underclocked or overclocked. so next time you leave a comment on youtube, get ur facts right otherwise you will just make a fool of yourself like u have this time

  • i agree with marcus8218 get ur facts right beacause its a sigle core single chip intel processer. Do you own any asus eee pc or even this modol if so you must be pretty bad at computer hardware

  • LOL, The Celerons eee701 at 630mhz run pretty darn quick with the DDR2 and PCIe vid. Also, the Atom is a 2.5Watt Processor single core. Maybe Next year a Dual core Atom will be out for Netbooks. The whole Point is Battery life, The least bit of Power to run, Not HOW FAST the F**ker is.. :)

  • It appeared to the system as two CPU's because it has the Hyper-Threading function which allows it to utilize free cycles to run the second thread simultaneously.

    Its NOT physically two-core.

Lastly, even if its TWO CPUs, the CPU clock speeds do NOT add up with each other.

  • You can overclock atom to 2.3GHz on intel atom 1.6GHz Netbooks on ASUS EEE PC. And even with FSB 800MT! from 533!! No jok!

  • You got a video on that one?...

BTW the VIA C7 CPU is also pretty damn impressive! I just composed a Mini-ITX platform with one installed. The entire system only drains approx. 8.5 Watts'o'power :)

  • True! but the newer Atom have 667FSB and 1.66GHz with just drains 2 watts of power!!

Impressive! I think Intel is vs VIA now, but however VIA Graphic seem to be better than intels!!

  • You got a vid of it?

  • where on my eee pc 901 can I find this function?

  • You need to install the software that comes in the CDROM.

  • K thx but its in chineze :S

  • You can download it from ASUS website.

  • can i boost it up to similar to the intel pentium IV?

  • It is 1.68, not 1.8

  • initially, it overclocks to 1.8G with FSB bumped to 150MHz.

However, after BIOS version 0602 or was it 0901, the Super Performance mode got clocked back to 140MHz FSB, thus giving the 1680MHz reading.

  • so what are the speeds after they are quad pumped or whatever you want to call them. AKA the default speed is 1.6ghz, what are the boosted and power save speeds?

  • boosted @ 1.8 ghz, power save @ 800 mhz
