Awesome vid. Makes the gas jobs look like a joke. Considering the millions spent in perfecting their technology. Imagine what we'll see in another three years. You say what's next. I would work on weight reduction. And the option of pit stops in electric super bike racing. If you can develop a quick battery change system you'll break allot more records. It will allow you to do major weight reductions. It will also give you pit crew something productive to do. Also your bike should automatical
If electric bikes are quieter, I prefer them. I'm sick of FAGS driving by on their loud ass harley davidson motorcycles, thinking they're all badass because they make more noise and eat kfc for breakfast..
When you're dealing with and moving between cars, which have thousands of times your mass behind them, announcing your presence with something other than a whisper-quiet motor can be a good thing.
Great video that shows how touchy electric bikes can be. I had trouble with my front wheel lifting so instead of a normal throttle to your controller I used the current throttle option on my "cycle analyst". It throttles your current, so if your maximum current is 300amps you know that half throttle is 150 amps. Much better than a hall effect throttle.
great finish, very nice!! i have to admit to drinking a glass of hateraid while watching, but only cause i have to race agents 1/8 offroad buggys that run electric agenst us nitro guys. but no arguing that bike is fast and finished the race. good luck in future races
@phqinhipp Yes that all i could think of you so ...... r u more than that man you need to see a doctor faster than that all noobs electric bike of your .
Awesome bike, watchout petrolheads :D. With improved weight distribution and more downforce on the aerodynamics, this bike could run at a higher torque setting and really kick those other bikes butts.
For all those who want to know more, there are a couple of good interviews with Chip on the pocast Motopod this month. I highly recommend listening to them if you want to know more about the rider and/or bike.
I know I really want to check this bike out in person.
Just want to say awesome job. As you were succeeding in you first race, I decided to crash out of my race that would have been a first place start to finish. You can actually see my bike luring down resting on you last lap. I had wondered off in a rage of disappointment. But anyway, good luck for the next one!
very nice but if it's so prone to wheelies shouldn't the weight come forward and down? that heavy box that's high and rear seems like a real nono. it's a wheeliebox.
I'd also recommend smooth aerodynamic body work so the air slips around instead of the very convoluted surface it has now. it's maybe 95% of your power use at high speed and the right body work might reduce that by factor 10.
high speed aero significance cannot be overstated especially on bikes that by default has horrible Cd
Congrats on the impressive results and thanks for the new vid with commentary. Very cool! How about some digital readouts (throttle %, mph, rpm, bms info/kers info etc.) in the vid that correspond to what we are watching.
Hope your sponsors will pay for a private track day at every TTXGP race venue until the TTXGP reverses their decision excluding your bike. Need to see the fastest ebikes available race, regardless of weight.
Wouldnt mind seeing one in the supersport section of British superbikes. My dads friend and ex boss had his own race team for BSB, isle of man, NW 200 and macau..only wish I could persuade him to get back into it and help a team like chipyates
I am curious about regulations - WERA is a very flexible organization, but what parameters were used to determine what class to race the bike in? It looks very promising. Good job!
I'm reminded of Jack Brabham. How many people build a racer themselves and then get it on the podium in it's first race? Kenny Roberts worked for 25 years before he took that step of building his own bike. He worked on it for over five years and had bike that never got to the podium. From first knee down 3 years ago to this today. I'm amazed.
The most efficient electric motor is rated at 95% efficiency and invented by CSIRO in Australia.
Compared to 20% for ICE, means ICE make more noise and heat and self damage than anything.. Electric engines pwnage.
Any one here knows anything about engineering will not argue, The brushless motors can never be surpasses in power input to output efficiency.

You need a button to only limit torque when you need to, off button full set torque on button set reduced torque!

Congratulations. It's amazing that you can be competitive with a bike that weights so much. It must be a beast to stop and turn.
How much energy does the electric bike use in comparision to an ICE bike in the same race?

Ahhh Americans call petrol gas. Thought I was going to be watching a bike running on calor gas or the sort of stuff you heat your house with.

More technical details!
Battery capacity?
Ampage draw at full throttle?
Areas for improvment?
Thanks - well done!
Thumbs up to WERA for letting you play.
When you win one, time to go to another league!
