you'd be surprised at what modern comps can do really, I'm running 3 hd screens simultaneously on an old dell pentium4ht, no sweat having photohop, a video 'n MSN up simultaneously. could run 30 screens with browsers open 'n it'd still be fine.
On the other hand tho, if you want video/game content on every screen, yeah, you'll need a kickass setup =P best to have an xFire or SLI setup then, two or more videocards rather than one.
Can you do this setup with different monitors, I have a 22 inch BenQ E2200HD, and two 17 (or 15?) inch Samsung Syncmaster 712n and 713. Would I be able to put the benq in the middle and the syncmasters to each side to broaden my field of view in FPS's like Crysis and COD?
im sorry but did we ake a leap back in time why do we have to have big bezels looking like giant crosshairs through the game why not just sell a giant hdtv , i know i dont know the specs im suure it has 50 fillaflops of fps screen time and reslutions of 20 gigawats but the black lines are anoying
me too, but some people (like professionals) have bigger projects so they need a higher resolution to work at. So I wouldn't like it but it could be necessary. And of course there is a much higher amount of detail in games. Al tho I personally wouldn't like the black lines.
The cool thing about this isnt realy that you can have many monitors, but how it works ;)
OP systems are broken when it comes to multi-monitors, ATI solved it by showing them 1 giant high-res monitor instead of multible ones, very good!
This opens up monitor res limitations and makes new products possible, like 2 glued together 22" panels for example with no expensive tricks or special treatment.
"Regular" giant "cheap" super high res monitors are finaly possible for regular consumers.
@luanswan2002 true. would be nice to see displays wit very small bordrs or high-res projectors for under 5000€ ^^ but f your adressing every monitor for only one task (and not a game on all 3) it's still very nice
@luanswan2002 like what was said in many other posts of the eyefinity. They are making monitors that do not have bevels. Read the tech news and you'll also know that they are making paper thin screens with no borders what so ever. This is an emerging technology and will take gaming to a whole new level.

Why not just buy a big ass HDTV intead of 6 monitors?
GchadB 1 year ago
its only good for working on different projects at once like games on one monitor photoshop on another and internet on the third
iceberg2006 2 years ago
you would have to have one seriously fuckoff computer to be able to do that! lol photoshop browse and games would give it a major workout stress test

imagine playing on 3x42" LCD tvs
BIG!
Delus1on77 2 years ago
you would need to have a 5970 or maybe two.
KingofComputing 2 years ago
42" is 1920x1080. not that high res. maxishine plays w/ 3x30" LCDs which are 2560x1600 each

I agree. I'd rather just use a projector and display a 1080P picture on the wall and play that. Screw the black lines. At least for gaming that is...

6 screens together have a higher resolution than just 1 hd screen
nogie8 2 years ago
true, but 1 HD TV wont have black lines everywhere.
i'd rather stick at 1080p and have an unobstructed picture than 2400p with a black mesh over the picture.

there is a company that uses a small selection of different LCD's and can make one of these tri monitor displays wtih no seams at all.
KingofComputing 2 years ago
Because with Eyefinity, you can link up 6 of the biggest 'hdtv's ever made, and have a picture 6 times larger than possible with one monitor..

Simple, bigger field of vision thats not attainable with 1 monitor.
