@OreChasm That is a yellow sponge colony. If you have lots of them, good for you. Means that you have lots of planktonic food in your tank. If they get out of control they may start to take up all the natural food sources and your corals could slowly starve. Ultimately though, the fact that they are growing well is a good sign.
Hey... nice tank. Got a question. How's that Kent Nautilus EX skimmer? Is it anygood? I'm about to purchase EX-30 model and couldn't find any good reviews anywhere.... thanks a bunch....
As far as I know, this size is not standard anymore. This tank is actually probably around 30 years old, I've had it forever. I am replacing it as we speak with a new 155 bowfront. You might have some luck with ebay. There are several aquarium manufacturers that put ads on ebay, but be careful.
Yes, that is a Tassled Filefish, and no, it is not reef safe as an adult, however they are reef safe as juveniles, same goes for the Clown Sweetlips that is at 0:46. There are many fish that are perfectly harmless until they reach their adult phase.
so you are planning on doing what when he becomes an adult? i dont think its good to buy a fish just for a while and then kick him out,,, just my opinion

sirtubemaster 1 year ago
@sirtubemaster No but he did become a nuisance by eating hermits, so he has been moved to the refugium.

You have a very nice tank! I am looking for the exact same size but cannot find anyone who sells that size. Was your tank a special order?

I agree with you. I have a large fish only tank that he will go into, along with the Huma trigger and the Sweetlips as they outgrow this system.
