So a girl gets drunk, doesn't drink and drive, is wearing a short skirt as many 18 year old girls do, is raped and murdered. Then Mr. O'Reilly here implies she was sort of asking for it. I want to say fuck you! You're a fucking Ass Bitch Motherfucker! But I will use my nice words and say that this is messed up. BTW, people, be sure to use correct grammar, a proper vocabulary, and actual reasoning when arguing a point. Insults, bad spelling, and bad grammar take away from your point.
We can all scream at O'Reilly and say, "HOW DARE HE SAY THAT!" and brandish the state and federal laws until we are blue in the face, but we all have to be honest. If you were out driving around at 2 am and you saw a woman dressed in scanty clothes, you would think she is a prostitute. Maybe that's what he thought, but still the whole raping business and murdering is sickening. I'm just trying to make a point. Where were her friends or family? Why did they let her do that in the first place?
Sadly, the whole commentary is not here. He is NOT saying that it is HER fault per se that she was raped and murdered. What he is saying is that it could have been prevented if 1.) She was not out by herself 2.) She was not out by herself and had been drinking illegally 2.) She was not out by herself, drunk when she is 18 and that she was dressed in a fashion that someone MIGHT have thought she was a prostitute.
Bill O'Reilly is like AIDS only more deadly... Spewing Hate and Racism.. Blaming a girl who was raped and murdered by saying, "you shouldn't have worn a mini skirt" .. He is TRASH and I could GUARANTEE he would be singing a different tune if it were HIS daughter...
Bill O'Reilly is a master of polemic asshattery. All that crap about what she was wearing and why she was there was said so that the listener could infer what they want without him having to say anything of substance. That being said, please stop confusing people who admit that rapists exist and should be avoided (because they want to rape you) with the disgusting freaks who actually think that rape is okay. I do agree that O'Reilly probably falls into the 'rape is okay' category though.
This man made more money last year than you all commenters will make in your lives by spewing comments like this. Think about this for a second.
It's absolutely amazing that, in a country that claims to be "developed," an actually accepted unspoken societal rule regarding rape is "it's your fault for being raped" than "DON'T RAPE SOMEONE DIPSHIT."
Again, this man makes millions for slut-shaming, amongst other similar tripe. Go America.
@iBear83 didn#t you now all mini skirts are sold with little warnings inside: "you wearing this piece will make you end up raped and killed, all your fault!" yeah, it is always and only my fault I got raped because I wore a mini skirt!
bill sounds like he can relate with a predator saying how stupid the guy was to use her phone, who cares how stupid it was to use he phone, he also talks about what she wears and say every predator is gonna pick that up it sounds like he can relate with a predator oh wait he is a predator
One could always hope that Billo gets sodomised with a luffa... Then we can say that he was asking for it, at least according to his provocative phonecalls :P
I don't think he's blaming the victim directly, to me he's just pointing out that it's a nutty world out there perfect for some horny nut job to take advantage of some scantily clad young girl who happens to be all drunk and hops in his car. How many times has this story been heard already? He's basically telling kids to use their heads out there. Sure it's not her fault but the rapist doesn't care about morality issues, he's going to do it, whether it's right or wrong.
Hes not blaming her. hes calling her a dumb fuck. because she is a dumb fuck lol. if your partying and getting loaded and then going out at two your just asking for it. Its not her fault, the dude that killed her should be fucking hung. but she is still a dumb cunt nevertheless.
but lyke guyz. she wuz alone and wore slutty things so itz ttly her fault da thug KILLER HER and RAPED HER. Not like, y'know, the fucking asshole who KILLER HER and RAPED HER. No, he was just a dumb guy who couldn't resist her ~slutty~ and ~drunken~ ways.
It's sad that we live in a society where a woman can't walk at night without fear. It's even sadder that in this sort of tragedy, media decides to criticize what the victim was doing, and not the sick behaviour of the man who did it to her.
What an awful, vile, low-down, disgusting excuse for a human being. "SHE WAS DRESSED LIKE A TOTAL SLUT, OKAY. OF COURSE SHE'D GET RAPED. LOL, STUPID WHORE. 8D"
no female EVER ASKS TO GET RAPED no matter what a slutbag she may be or how slutty she dresses. raping someone is a grimy fuckin thing to do and whoever would rape somebody needs to have his NUTS CUT OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If i found a drunk woman passed out AND naked to boot being a man of honor I would find something to cover her with maybe a blanket or large towel then take her to a hospital. Was the rapist/murderer ever caught?
He doesn't BLAME her at all. The point he is making is that girls shouldn't walk around at 2 in the morning scantily dressed, drunk out of their minds.
@VictoriaFalls12 No, they absolutely should not walk around scantily dressed and drunk at that hour. BUT, THAT IS NOT AGAINST THE LAW. It is not against the law to dress that way or do that.
But it is against the law to rape. This conservative asshole who is so "pro america" is condoning people breaking the law?
You're scum, and I really hope someone rapes your daughter and murders her if she ever wears a miniskirt. We'll see how quick you are to judge her at that point.
As much as I HATE Bill-O he is right. She made her self a easier target. Does that make what happen to her right NO. But we do need to protect oursleves .
For example if I walked down a dark ally with a 100 dollar bill hanging out of my back pocket. I am very likily going to get robbed. Do I have I have the right to walk down the street like that .. YES. And Should someone rob me NO. But bad guys never do what they SHOULD .
In no way do these comments suggest that the girl deserved to be raped. He's saying that she didn't put herself in the best position and the rapist took advantage of her. I believe he calls the rapist/murder a thug, so he obviously doesn't think the rapist was just some average guy who saw a scantily clad drunken girl and decided it was justified to commit these acts.
There is nothing to be upset about here, except that a girl was raped and murdered. Give it a rest.
he blamed the girl for what she was wearing and walking around drunk... how does that constitute for being raped? he is legitimizing a rapist to have reason to rape a young girl rather than being respectful towards the situation. he did the same thing with shawn hornbeck when he said he "enjoyed his captivity".
He IS criticizing the girl for making some bad decisions (he's right on that point: if you don't want your car stolen, at least lock the doors). His is NOT legitimizing the rape. In what part of this does he imply "it's ok to rape and kill scantily clad drunk girls?" I think he's trying to make the point that if these girls had used better judgement the whole thing would never have happened.
...and calling them moronic was unnecessary, I agree.
He IS blaming them for wearing sexy clothes and being drunk. This is America. Just because you WEAR certain LEGAL clothes and drink LEGALLY and stay out til 2am LEGALLY, it doesnt automatically deserve a death sentence. It shouldnt matter hat they wore! dumbass!
Yes yes. I was only commenting on the semantics of the word 'blame', or whatever. I should have made myself clearer. What I was trying to say was that I thought he was only observing what was going on, I didn't think he was explicitly accusing anyone in particular - it is just an overall impression that one gets from the tone. But I'm not defending him - I can't stand Bill O'Reilly, God knows why he's such a celebrity.
He never says it's ok to rape them, but he does blame the girl for getting raped. A woman should be allowed to be pass-out drunk and not worry about being raped. It's not her fault like O'Reilly here implies.
would you let your daughter do the same thing and not call her stupid. of course she's not to blame for the killing, but she's guilty of putting herself in a place of high risk. nothing wrong will telling people to be smart about where and how you place yourself. minimize your risk to be a victim. just because you've done stupid thing when you are 18, doe not mean you can't tell someone to be smarter. would you put a baby near a swimming pool with no fence?
I knew Bill was a stupid prick but seriously this disgusting shit takes the cake. He doesn't know what really went down, he places blame on the clothes and time, never attacking the criminals. Talk about having no respect for the dead, her family has to hear this stuff. Karma is going to make you it's bitch Bill, yes it will**
The problem with O'Reilly's comments here is that this has been a pattern of behavior with him. This is not the first time that he's made insensitve or demeaning comments toward someone who has been the victim of sexual violence. And let's not forget the fact that he himself has been accused of sexual harassment by one of his producers and then later paid her millions of dollars in hush money to make the whole thing go away. If this were just one incident, it would be different.
There's too much hatred of O'Reilly from a few of you here to really discuss the issue of the rape without some kind of bias. I understand your stance as O'reilly is a mouth piece for the right and if you are a liberal leaning guy then you're going to hate every word that comes out of his mouth. So I'm going to just leave it be. Before I go though try to understand my POV that it should be OK to point out the girls mistakes BUT you are right that he should have not called her moronic on the air.
Is that it? I read the title and then thats all OReilly has to say?
You fool, a gerbil has more cognitive capacity than you do.
Do you think that rape is digital? That only one person has all the share of it? This guy is mainly to blame for the murder but she shares a portion of the blame for what happened to her, not the lions share as he committed the crime. But I dont think Im progressive enough to understand why saying hey, perhaps its a bad idea to do what she did is so heinous.
SO answer me this... If a father gives that advice to his daughter based on this specific case. If the father points out all the mistakes this girl made to his daughter and tells her how it could handeled in a safe and intelligent manner... Is that father saying the girl in question DESERVED to die in your opinion? This is how we learn from our mistakes even when they result in something tragic. We don't bury it and just say "Oh that poor girl" at least those interested in learning don't...
"Ask yourself this. Where the girls actions that night stupid? Did she deserve to get raped for making a stupid mistake?"
I don't think anyone deserves to get raped for stupidity, and that's a direct quote from your previous response.
There are certain things that should not be dealt with in a public forum. He didn't give her advice on how to handle herself in a safe intelligent manner.
All that he did was basically insult the girl which served no purpose at all. I'm usually in agreement of you in issues like this, I was ripped out in a forum for saying after the kid got beheaded from the rollercoaster trying to get his hat that he did something stupid. I'm not arguing the stupidity, I'm arguing about placing blame here. As for the question you asked me, it's not even closely related and verging on moronic.
Well why won't you let Phone Sex O'Reilly tell that himself? That's the ongoing pattern with him. He can't own up to a single thing. Make him start his monologue with "I told the girls they are moronic and pointed out their mini-skirts and halter top BECAUSE..."
I can assure you 100% that Alexa wouldn't even think about putting the blame on herself for getting raped, however partially. What O'Reilly is implying is that those girls are halfway responsible for dressing up like that. WTF.
Things like this need to be explored and flaws to be identified whether it sounds crude or not. Some parents don't know what kind of advice to give their daughters. This radio show (of which we've only heard a SNIPPET... I'd like to hear the entire thing) helps parents target their advice. "If you get stuck somewhere and are drunk call me or call a friend... don't walk home alone or THIS could happen to you." That's good advice. It's not saying that if you do make a mistake you deserve rape.
First of all I doubt father's say "now do be stupid get drunk get you car towed and walk all around a deserted highway in the middle of the night." If anything father's would say "If you need me for any reason call, I'd rather you call then something happen."
Don't try to defend O'Reilly here, he's always like this, this is not one "snippet" taken out of context. He's always outspoken and just gets louder when anyone disagrees with him.
I think you are miffed as to WHY he would be so crass as to point out the flaws of a dead girl. It's because he has an audience primarily compossed of parents of these type of girls. Obviously he wanted to point out to the parents listening that they should have a chat with their daughters about NOT making the same mistakes this girl made. Simply saying "She got picked up and raped...I feel sorry for her" does not EXPLORE the issue as to WHY this happened and what could be done to prevent it!
He's always like this on his show, there is one point of view-- it's his-- and he's always right. He just dismisses it, "there ya go" yup there ya go shes drunk yup obvious why she got raped an murdered. No sympathy and nothing constructive other then you never separate. Just basically saying "this dumb bitch, serves her right". If you can't find that connotation within this statement you must be purposely being obtuse.
He's stating the cold hard facts of the matter. Every predator in the world IS in fact going to be looking for girls making those kind of stupid mistakes. To ignore the mistakes made would be naive. Could he have been more compassionate in not calling her "moronic" (even when her actions were in FACT moronic) sure! I'm not debating his compassion level here. I'm simply saying that he did not say that she desrved it. Pointing out flaws is not at all saying they deserved to die.
Well see... thats where we fundamentally disagree here. You still think he blamed her for being raped. I don't believe he did that and I sure as hell don't think that a foundation for rape victims would let him speak if they believed that. You honestly think they wanted O'Reilly there just so they could send some kind of message about the free speech of people you disagree with!? They chose O'Reilly because they like O'Reilly and had no problems whatsoever with what he said plain and simple.
Plus, (as you alluded to) If anyone should have been upset about O'Reilly's comments it SHOULD be the people that invited him to speak. They were well aware of the comments and not only did they NOT have a problem with it they had to put up with protests rather than telling O'Reilly he was no longer welcome. Clearly they are OK with his comments... and having gone through what they did their opinion of O'Reilly's comments trumps anything either of us have to say about THEIR event.
Also allowing someone to speak their mind does not mean you agree with them. I would defend your right to voice your opinion. Even though I disagree with everything you said, you still are entitled to speak your mind. I also don't care about what the people who invited him to speak thought or not: the point is he's gone beyond placing blame he's said, essentially, "she was asking for it." How can you possibly justify that response?
You are putting words in his mouth plain and simple.
Ask yourself this. Where the girls actions that night stupid? Did she deserve to get raped for making a stupid mistake?
If your responses were Yes then No you would be in complete agreement with O'Reilly. If you think that the girls actions that night were NOT stupid I would absolutely LOVE to hear your explanation of that one!
There is a difference between doing something that is stupid and deserving to get raped over it. Many people have done stupid things in their lives; for example, you by posting your previous comment justifying a rape and murder on the basis of stupidity. Clearly they made choices that were not wise that night but no one deserves to be raped and murdered. As long as your throwing stones, they're stupid for getting drunk, I'm sure someone of your supreme intellect has never gotten drunk, right?
That's a HUGE stretch - and completely dishonest - to say he's blaming her for her rape. He did, however, point out that incidents like this are much more likely to happen when people are behaving in a manner that is potentially unsafe- and for sure unwise. Not true?
Some of you people are really out there. Don't let your inner hatred cloud your ability to reason.
Then O'Reilly should have TOLD that same shit to her face in the fundraiser, and not act like a coward denying he ever told that and further put the blame on the blogger saying they caused Alexa the raped girl this "grief" and misery that made her quit her day job. Go ask Alexa why she's depressed now after knowing O'Reilly called her and her dead friend "Moronic".
How is it a HUGE stretch "every predictor in the world is going to be looking to pick that up at 2am"? Sounds like placing blame with the girl to me. If he were to say "she did something stupid but it's unfortunate this happened" it would still be inappropriate, he in no way ever expressed any sympathy whatsoever to what happened to her. The point is this girl didn't get drunk and walk off a cliff here; she didn't kill herself someone did it to her, there is no way of justifying it period.
i agree...that is a HUGE STRETCH....o'reilly's claims AMANDA TERKEL took Bill's coments OUT OF CONTEXT???.....could some clarify what Bill really meant to say?.....Bill's other defense is that he made these comments 3 years ago......why would that matter??.....o'reilly detractor should email johnson & johnson, BAYER and proctor and gamble with BOYCOTT threats due to o'reilly ambush journalism with with GOON SQUAD (Jesse WATERS) who STALKED AManda TERKEL 3 weeks ago.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
He didn't blame the girl for getting raped. He illustrated how stupid it was to get drunk, get her car towed, seperate from her friend and get into some stranger's car. Now supposing she never got raped and lived to tell the tale, if you were one of her friends you would tell her exactly how STUPID it was of her to do that, for her own safety. It's frustrating to listen to these stories when a little common sense could have prevented the situation and o'reilly was expressing that frustration.
O'Reilly played about 1 minute and 10 seconds of the Terkel ambush. Very different indeed. No footage of the stalking, the chase or the accosting. Imagine that. O'Reilly's despicable postmortem slander of rape/murder victim Jennifer Moore is indefensible, he called her "MORONIC". You are defending a man who basically said that what happened to Moore is her own fault. How does it feel to defend Bill the sexual harasser who settled out of court? Two words: Andrea Mackris. Shameless.
im not talking about the terkel "ambush" although i find it rather tacky to attack a fundraiser for rape victims just because bill o'reilly is a speaker there...im talking about his comments in the above video, where he described the actions of the 2 women being "moronic"...the truth is their actions were "moronic" but thats not to say the victim deserved her fate...her fate was a waste and a trajedy and its frustrating to think it could have been so easily prevented
1. see how u got brainwashed? Terkel NEVER attacked the fundraiser. Her blog post was straightforward almost like a brief announcement that O'Reilly will be speaking to this fundraiser last 19th. How was that attacking the org?
2. Of course he blamed the girl for getting raped; He called them both "MORONIC". Now O'Reilly is blaming Terkel and say she is the one who caused Alexa the misery, quit her job and got depressed? PLEASE. She's grieving because she found out what he said after inviting him
you keep bringing up the terkel incident as if it has any bearing on whether o'reilly's intent was to "blame" the victim...the terkel incident is a seperate issue...the main issue is whether o'reilly truly believes some rape victims deserve what they get and this is really stretching it...it would be akin to me saying barack obama thinks disabled people are inferior because he made an insensitive comment about his bowling game being equivalent to the special olympics
You don't want to bring up Terkel YET you drag Obama here?! I dont fucking care bout Obama, that's our difference, I'm not one of you Liberals and NeoCons, both of you are blinded by your parties. NOBODY is saying O'Reilly believes what you're saying. That's NOT THE ISSUE. The issue is WHAT WAS SAID AND DONE. Terkel did NOT SAY that OReilly believes they deserve the rape. That's what OREILLY TOLD YOU and bought it. She merely brought up what he said about the girls being "Moronic", "There you go"
the issue is about you overanalyzing what o'reilly said and arriving at the worst possible conclusion about his intent...he made an off the cuff remark about a woman's actions and youre presuming to know how he feels whether some rape victims deserve to be raped...i brought up obama because i wanted to illustrate that what some people say may be insensitive but it doesnt necessarily mean they dont empathize with other people's situations
you however seem fully intent on marginalizing o'reilly rather than giving him the benefit of the doubt...so forgive me if i dont fully believe youre entirely bipartisan on the subject
You are giving credibility to a man how paid several millions to settle sexually harassing trial, a case where we have ample evidence that the man is a sexual predator.
If that case had gone to court today O Reilly would be a register sex offender.
Maybe O' Reilly do not believe that some rape victim deserve to be raped, but he does believe that if the woman is in a precarious position that can be interpreted by a sexual predator as an invitation to rape, then it is the victim fault.
In this case a woman driving her car wearing sixe outfit at night, if the car breaks down then it is her fault.
In O Really case a coworker going to do work outside, is also an invitation to sexually harass her, you can as Andre Macris.
Please answer ONE question. What was the point of Billo saying she was drunk and wearing sexy clothes if it was NOT to blame her for being raped and killed? Last time I checked, it was still legal to get drunk, wear anything you want and be in any part of any town at 2am. What is NOT legal is to RAPE and MURDER, but Billo doesnt mention the rapists crimes, does he?
where did he say it was illegal? his point was if youre drunk, alone, wearing clothes like that, and getting in strangers' cars youre a walking target for sex offenders...obviously the rapist is to blame but its a moot point...should the discussion have been about how the rapist should be hung by his balls and eaten by live ants? again thats a moot point...the point was to provoke a discussion about common sense and how NOT to make yourself an easier target
The point is that he was offering criticism of the girl's unsafe actions to serve as a warning to parents listening to his show that they should advise their daughters not to do that. Now answer me this question. Let's say you had a daughter who told you that she did that one night. (Got wasted and walked home alone in skimpy clothing at 2am) wouldn't you advise her NOT to do that in the future? I hope you would because stupidity can get you killed. No one deserves to be raped but dumb is dumb.
exactly, so you give in to the fact that he inferred that it was the women's fault for getting raped. you can't have both ways and defend o'reilly in smearing the poor blogger who was stalked herself for 2 hours AND THEN blame HER for causing "misery" and "grief" to Alexa and the foundation. O'Reilly said Terkel the blogger is the cause of Alexa's depression that's why she quit her job. OH PLEASE. She got depressed after knowing O'Reilly called her MORONIC then she invited him to the fundraiser.
Because a lone, drunk girl wearing provocative clothing is going to make for an easy target.
It's not her fault, it is clearly the assaulter's fault. But, the fact is there ARE people like that in the world and you have to take certain precautions to avoid them. And that is all he is saying. It was stupid of them to to do this. Yes, people SHOULD be able to drink and wear what they want without the risk of any harm befalling them. Unfortunately though that's not always the case.
@lmr892 It's still legal to have a gun in your house, but statistics show it does the exact opposite of protecting you when thieves come for TVs. I don't much care what Bill O'Reilly said, because it's no news to me that he's fucking crazy, but FOR THEIR OWN PROTECTION, drunk women should at least have a ride home at night because there ARE people on the streets who WILL take advantage of her. It's not safe, and all the while wearing sexy clothing is like wearing steaks as you walk past bears.
@Incalite wow that is fucking ignorant. Comparing that to wearing steaks while walking past bears. Not every man in the world is even attracted to slutty clothes, even then, most men aren't mentally ill enough to rape. You are confusing a regular guy with a rapist. Rapists like innocence and enjoy power, it has NOTHING to do with the clothes you wear. When will you IGNORANT people understand that?
@TheDarthTBone He spends more time talking about how drunk she is then he does about how some creeper decided to rape and kill her. That would be like me saying a man got lost in a bad area while wearing a fancy watch, and going on about how stupid he is to get lost and why doesn't he use GPS or something, and well if he gets mugged and killed over that watch, well, then, really, he shouldn't have gotten lost.
It's sad that I have to compare rape to mugging for some people to understand.
@TheDarthTBone what you do is clearly victim blaming? So I am not allowed to go out at night, have adrink adn dress sexy because I might get raped? The man who decide to ake advantage of a intoxicated women who are the only ones to blame. And even if she were freaking naked - it is only the guy's fault she got raped. Or shall women wear burkas instead to not risk any assualts? Go back to the 1800's.
@TheDarthTBone oh, and btw NO ONE WANTS TO GET FUCKING RAPED! get youself some more respect for the victims or rape. I like to wear sexy clothes, but I clearly, ike no other women, want to get raped.
@lmr892 pretty positive he mentions that it was illegal to murder and rape someone bro and that they got sent to jail. Also NO it's NOT legal to drink if you're under 21 in the United States. And yeah it's not illegal to wear sexy clothes but that doesn't mean it's SMART to walk away from your friend with no car and get into a random guy's car. He's not BLAMING her for being raped, he's just noting how much of a complete idiot she was in more polite terms.
@squirrellor1 aka victimblaming. He clearly implies correlation between her behaviour and her being raped. It is just totally disgusting to say anything that implies: " you wouldn't got raped if wore decent clothes and weren't drunk" fact is: she ONLY got raped because a sick idiot took advantage of her intoxicated state.
LOL what do you people get out of relentlessly bitching about this guy all the time? Seriously... you've been bitching about him year after year after year and what has it accomplished? He's still on the air, you're helping inflate his ratings, and you are STILL angry. If you don't like the guy ignore his shows. Better yet use your anger against the people who actually are preaching hate rather than squandering it on these childish temper tantrums. GROW THE FUCK UP!
faxtax,,,sorry but being drunk isn't enough to deserve to be raped and murdered...I hope you make a mistake and something AWFUL happens to you..but you live...that way you CAN MATURE IN WISDOM...you lack it!
ha wow your way off nobody says she deserved it, but are you surprised? no, you put yourself in that position you are vulnerable to shit like that happening. it sucks that it happened but it did. so if you feel that way why dont you play russian roullette with yourself and see what happens, then when the gun goes off blame the gun not yourself. good logic.
you dont know anything at all about me, so go fuck yourself! Why dont you take a good look at yourself? agreeing with this piece of shit meat sack with no soul
Not a bill o'reilly fan anymore after hearing this. cant believe i ever even read his book im embarrassed

So a girl gets drunk, doesn't drink and drive, is wearing a short skirt as many 18 year old girls do, is raped and murdered. Then Mr. O'Reilly here implies she was sort of asking for it.

Bill, I'm scantily clad right at this moment: consider this your invitation to rape and murder me, big boy.

but lyke guyz. she wuz alone and wore slutty things so itz ttly her fault da thug KILLER HER and RAPED HER.

Way to blame the victim, asshole.

He doesn't BLAME her at all. The point he is making is that girls shouldn't walk around at 2 in the morning scantily dressed, drunk out of their minds.
VictoriaFalls12 2 years ago
@VictoriaFalls12 No, they absolutely should not walk around scantily dressed and drunk at that hour. BUT, THAT IS NOT AGAINST THE LAW. It is not against the law to dress that way or do that.
But it is against the law to rape. This conservative asshole who is so "pro america" is condoning people breaking the law?
You're scum, and I really hope someone rapes your daughter and murders her if she ever wears a miniskirt. We'll see how quick you are to judge her at that point.

Give it a rest.
silvermack2 2 years ago
he blamed the girl for what she was wearing and walking around drunk... how does that constitute for being raped? he is legitimizing a rapist to have reason to rape a young girl rather than being respectful towards the situation. he did the same thing with shawn hornbeck when he said he "enjoyed his captivity".
GstateBALLER925 2 years ago 2
He IS criticizing the girl for making some bad decisions (he's right on that point: if you don't want your car stolen, at least lock the doors). His is NOT legitimizing the rape. In what part of this does he imply "it's ok to rape and kill scantily clad drunk girls?" I think he's trying to make the point that if these girls had used better judgement the whole thing would never have happened.
...and calling them moronic was unnecessary, I agree.
silvermack2 2 years ago
He IS blaming them for wearing sexy clothes and being drunk. This is America. Just because you WEAR certain LEGAL clothes and drink LEGALLY and stay out til 2am LEGALLY, it doesnt automatically deserve a death sentence. It shouldnt matter hat they wore! dumbass!

@VictoriaFalls12 It's a month old, but this is a disgusting comment and I've hope you've learned better by now.
siriuslynow 1 year ago
VictoriaFalls12 1 year ago
He never says it's ok to rape them, but he does blame the girl for getting raped. A woman should be allowed to be pass-out drunk and not worry about being raped. It's not her fault like O'Reilly here implies.

would you let your daughter do the same thing and not call her stupid. of course she's not to blame for the killing, but she's guilty of putting herself in a place of high risk. nothing wrong will telling people to be smart about where and how you place yourself. minimize your risk to be a victim. just because you've done stupid thing when you are 18, doe not mean you can't tell someone to be smarter. would you put a baby near a swimming pool with no fence?

scruffypair 2 years ago 18
The problem with O'Reilly's comments here is that this has been a pattern of behavior with him. This is not the first time that he's made insensitve or demeaning comments toward someone who has been the victim of sexual violence. And let's not forget the fact that he himself has been accused of sexual harassment by one of his producers and then later paid her millions of dollars in hush money to make the whole thing go away. If this were just one incident, it would be different.
smoothcriminal3807 2 years ago
The question is, if O'Reilly were in the position of the perpetrator, would he have done the same because she's "moronic"
Hyokano 2 years ago 3
There's too much hatred of O'Reilly from a few of you here to really discuss the issue of the rape without some kind of bias. I understand your stance as O'reilly is a mouth piece for the right and if you are a liberal leaning guy then you're going to hate every word that comes out of his mouth. So I'm going to just leave it be. Before I go though try to understand my POV that it should be OK to point out the girls mistakes BUT you are right that he should have not called her moronic on the air.
djvampyre 2 years ago
Wow, now I don't need to write what my opinion of these comments were. Thanks
featheon 2 years ago

We don't bury it and just say "Oh that poor girl" at least those interested in learning don't...
djvampyre 2 years ago
First off my response was to your statement:
"Ask yourself this. Where the girls actions that night stupid? Did she deserve to get raped for making a stupid mistake?"
I don't think anyone deserves to get raped for stupidity, and that's a direct quote from your previous response.
There are certain things that should not be dealt with in a public forum. He didn't give her advice on how to handle herself in a safe intelligent manner.
imacsukz 2 years ago
All that he did was basically insult the girl which served no purpose at all. I'm usually in agreement of you in issues like this, I was ripped out in a forum for saying after the kid got beheaded from the rollercoaster trying to get his hat that he did something stupid. I'm not arguing the stupidity, I'm arguing about placing blame here. As for the question you asked me, it's not even closely related and verging on moronic.
imacsukz 2 years ago
Well why won't you let Phone Sex O'Reilly tell that himself? That's the ongoing pattern with him. He can't own up to a single thing. Make him start his monologue with "I told the girls they are moronic and pointed out their mini-skirts and halter top BECAUSE..."
I can assure you 100% that Alexa wouldn't even think about putting the blame on herself for getting raped, however partially. What O'Reilly is implying is that those girls are halfway responsible for dressing up like that. WTF.
superc 2 years ago
Things like this need to be explored and flaws to be identified whether it sounds crude or not. Some parents don't know what kind of advice to give their daughters. This radio show (of which we've only heard a SNIPPET... I'd like to hear the entire thing) helps parents target their advice. "If you get stuck somewhere and are drunk call me or call a friend... don't walk home alone or THIS could happen to you." That's good advice. It's not saying that if you do make a mistake you deserve rape.
djvampyre 2 years ago
First of all I doubt father's say "now do be stupid get drunk get you car towed and walk all around a deserted highway in the middle of the night." If anything father's would say "If you need me for any reason call, I'd rather you call then something happen."
Don't try to defend O'Reilly here, he's always like this, this is not one "snippet" taken out of context. He's always outspoken and just gets louder when anyone disagrees with him.
imacsukz 2 years ago
I think you are miffed as to WHY he would be so crass as to point out the flaws of a dead girl. It's because he has an audience primarily compossed of parents of these type of girls. Obviously he wanted to point out to the parents listening that they should have a chat with their daughters about NOT making the same mistakes this girl made. Simply saying "She got picked up and raped...I feel sorry for her" does not EXPLORE the issue as to WHY this happened and what could be done to prevent it!
djvampyre 2 years ago
He's always like this on his show, there is one point of view-- it's his-- and he's always right. He just dismisses it, "there ya go" yup there ya go shes drunk yup obvious why she got raped an murdered. No sympathy and nothing constructive other then you never separate. Just basically saying "this dumb bitch, serves her right". If you can't find that connotation within this statement you must be purposely being obtuse.
imacsukz 2 years ago
He's stating the cold hard facts of the matter. Every predator in the world IS in fact going to be looking for girls making those kind of stupid mistakes. To ignore the mistakes made would be naive. Could he have been more compassionate in not calling her "moronic" (even when her actions were in FACT moronic) sure! I'm not debating his compassion level here. I'm simply saying that he did not say that she desrved it. Pointing out flaws is not at all saying they deserved to die.
djvampyre 2 years ago
Well see... thats where we fundamentally disagree here. You still think he blamed her for being raped. I don't believe he did that and I sure as hell don't think that a foundation for rape victims would let him speak if they believed that. You honestly think they wanted O'Reilly there just so they could send some kind of message about the free speech of people you disagree with!? They chose O'Reilly because they like O'Reilly and had no problems whatsoever with what he said plain and simple.
djvampyre 2 years ago
Plus, (as you alluded to) If anyone should have been upset about O'Reilly's comments it SHOULD be the people that invited him to speak. They were well aware of the comments and not only did they NOT have a problem with it they had to put up with protests rather than telling O'Reilly he was no longer welcome. Clearly they are OK with his comments... and having gone through what they did their opinion of O'Reilly's comments trumps anything either of us have to say about THEIR event.
djvampyre 2 years ago
Also allowing someone to speak their mind does not mean you agree with them. I would defend your right to voice your opinion. Even though I disagree with everything you said, you still are entitled to speak your mind. I also don't care about what the people who invited him to speak thought or not: the point is he's gone beyond placing blame he's said, essentially, "she was asking for it." How can you possibly justify that response?
imacsukz 2 years ago
You are putting words in his mouth plain and simple.
Ask yourself this. Where the girls actions that night stupid? Did she deserve to get raped for making a stupid mistake?
If your responses were Yes then No you would be in complete agreement with O'Reilly. If you think that the girls actions that night were NOT stupid I would absolutely LOVE to hear your explanation of that one!
djvampyre 2 years ago
There is a difference between doing something that is stupid and deserving to get raped over it. Many people have done stupid things in their lives; for example, you by posting your previous comment justifying a rape and murder on the basis of stupidity. Clearly they made choices that were not wise that night but no one deserves to be raped and murdered. As long as your throwing stones, they're stupid for getting drunk, I'm sure someone of your supreme intellect has never gotten drunk, right?
imacsukz 2 years ago
.. also he does absolutely comdemn the rapist if you would bother to have listened to more than the 1 minute snippet you were fed.
djvampyre 2 years ago
That's a HUGE stretch - and completely dishonest - to say he's blaming her for her rape. He did, however, point out that incidents like this are much more likely to happen when people are behaving in a manner that is potentially unsafe- and for sure unwise. Not true?
Some of you people are really out there. Don't let your inner hatred cloud your ability to reason.
yamma98 2 years ago
Then O'Reilly should have TOLD that same shit to her face in the fundraiser, and not act like a coward denying he ever told that and further put the blame on the blogger saying they caused Alexa the raped girl this "grief" and misery that made her quit her day job. Go ask Alexa why she's depressed now after knowing O'Reilly called her and her dead friend "Moronic".
superc 2 years ago
How is it a HUGE stretch "every predictor in the world is going to be looking to pick that up at 2am"? Sounds like placing blame with the girl to me. If he were to say "she did something stupid but it's unfortunate this happened" it would still be inappropriate, he in no way ever expressed any sympathy whatsoever to what happened to her. The point is this girl didn't get drunk and walk off a cliff here; she didn't kill herself someone did it to her, there is no way of justifying it period.
imacsukz 2 years ago
i agree...that is a HUGE STRETCH....o'reilly's claims AMANDA TERKEL took Bill's coments OUT OF CONTEXT???.....could some clarify what Bill really meant to say?.....Bill's other defense is that he made these comments 3 years ago......why would that matter??.....o'reilly detractor should email johnson & johnson, BAYER and proctor and gamble with BOYCOTT threats due to o'reilly ambush journalism with with GOON SQUAD (Jesse WATERS) who STALKED AManda TERKEL 3 weeks ago.
jrebstock 2 years ago
This comment has received too many negative votes show
He didn't blame the girl for getting raped.
CuzShezCrazy 2 years ago
O'Reilly played about 1 minute and 10 seconds of the Terkel ambush. Very different indeed. No footage of the stalking, the chase or the accosting. Imagine that. O'Reilly's despicable postmortem slander of rape/murder victim Jennifer Moore is indefensible, he called her "MORONIC". You are defending a man who basically said that what happened to Moore is her own fault. How does it feel to defend Bill the sexual harasser who settled out of court? Two words: Andrea Mackris. Shameless.
pamReagan 2 years ago
im not talking about the terkel "ambush" although i find it rather tacky to attack a fundraiser for rape victims just because bill o'reilly is a speaker there...im talking about his comments in the above video, where he described the actions of the 2 women being "moronic"...the truth is their actions were "moronic" but thats not to say the victim deserved her fate...her fate was a waste and a trajedy and its frustrating to think it could have been so easily prevented
CuzShezCrazy 2 years ago
1. see how u got brainwashed? Terkel NEVER attacked the fundraiser. Her blog post was straightforward almost like a brief announcement that O'Reilly will be speaking to this fundraiser last 19th. How was that attacking the org?
2. Of course he blamed the girl for getting raped; He called them both "MORONIC". Now O'Reilly is blaming Terkel and say she is the one who caused Alexa the misery, quit her job and got depressed? PLEASE. She's grieving because she found out what he said after inviting him
superc 2 years ago
you keep bringing up the terkel incident as if it has any bearing on whether o'reilly's intent was to "blame" the victim...the terkel incident is a seperate issue...the main issue is whether o'reilly truly believes some rape victims deserve what they get and this is really stretching it...it would be akin to me saying barack obama thinks disabled people are inferior because he made an insensitive comment about his bowling game being equivalent to the special olympics
CuzShezCrazy 2 years ago
You don't want to bring up Terkel YET you drag Obama here?! I dont fucking care bout Obama, that's our difference, I'm not one of you Liberals and NeoCons, both of you are blinded by your parties. NOBODY is saying O'Reilly believes what you're saying. That's NOT THE ISSUE. The issue is WHAT WAS SAID AND DONE. Terkel did NOT SAY that OReilly believes they deserve the rape. That's what OREILLY TOLD YOU and bought it. She merely brought up what he said about the girls being "Moronic", "There you go"
superc 2 years ago
the issue is about you overanalyzing what o'reilly said and arriving at the worst possible conclusion about his intent...he made an off the cuff remark about a woman's actions and youre presuming to know how he feels whether some rape victims deserve to be raped...i brought up obama because i wanted to illustrate that what some people say may be insensitive but it doesnt necessarily mean they dont empathize with other people's situations
CuzShezCrazy 2 years ago
you however seem fully intent on marginalizing o'reilly rather than giving him the benefit of the doubt...so forgive me if i dont fully believe youre entirely bipartisan on the subject
CuzShezCrazy 2 years ago
Benefic of the doubt to Bill O Reilly?
You are giving credibility to a man how paid several millions to settle sexually harassing trial, a case where we have ample evidence that the man is a sexual predator.
If that case had gone to court today O Reilly would be a register sex offender.
JerezJulio 2 years ago
Maybe O' Reilly do not believe that some rape victim deserve to be raped, but he does believe that if the woman is in a precarious position that can be interpreted by a sexual predator as an invitation to rape, then it is the victim fault.
In this case a woman driving her car wearing sixe outfit at night, if the car breaks down then it is her fault.
In O Really case a coworker going to do work outside, is also an invitation to sexually harass her, you can as Andre Macris.
JerezJulio 2 years ago
Please answer ONE question. What was the point of Billo saying she was drunk and wearing sexy clothes if it was NOT to blame her for being raped and killed? Last time I checked, it was still legal to get drunk, wear anything you want and be in any part of any town at 2am. What is NOT legal is to RAPE and MURDER, but Billo doesnt mention the rapists crimes, does he?
lmr892 2 years ago 38
where did he say it was illegal? his point was if youre drunk, alone, wearing clothes like that, and getting in strangers' cars youre a walking target for sex offenders...obviously the rapist is to blame but its a moot point...should the discussion have been about how the rapist should be hung by his balls and eaten by live ants? again thats a moot point...the point was to provoke a discussion about common sense and how NOT to make yourself an easier target
CuzShezCrazy 2 years ago
The point is that he was offering criticism of the girl's unsafe actions to serve as a warning to parents listening to his show that they should advise their daughters not to do that. Now answer me this question. Let's say you had a daughter who told you that she did that one night. (Got wasted and walked home alone in skimpy clothing at 2am) wouldn't you advise her NOT to do that in the future? I hope you would because stupidity can get you killed. No one deserves to be raped but dumb is dumb.
djvampyre 2 years ago
exactly, so you give in to the fact that he inferred that it was the women's fault for getting raped. you can't have both ways and defend o'reilly in smearing the poor blogger who was stalked herself for 2 hours AND THEN blame HER for causing "misery" and "grief" to Alexa and the foundation. O'Reilly said Terkel the blogger is the cause of Alexa's depression that's why she quit her job. OH PLEASE. She got depressed after knowing O'Reilly called her MORONIC then she invited him to the fundraiser.
superc 2 years ago
@lmr892
Braedon91 1 year ago
@lmr892 It's still legal to have a gun in your house, but statistics show it does the exact opposite of protecting you when thieves come for TVs. I don't much care what Bill O'Reilly said, because it's no news to me that he's fucking crazy, but FOR THEIR OWN PROTECTION, drunk women should at least have a ride home at night because there ARE people on the streets who WILL take advantage of her. It's not safe, and all the while wearing sexy clothing is like wearing steaks as you walk past bears.
Incalite 7 months ago
@Incalite wow that is fucking ignorant. Comparing that to wearing steaks while walking past bears. Not every man in the world is even attracted to slutty clothes, even then, most men aren't mentally ill enough to rape. You are confusing a regular guy with a rapist. Rapists like innocence and enjoy power, it has NOTHING to do with the clothes you wear. When will you IGNORANT people understand that?

If I did not want to get raped and murdered I would not go out in the middle of night, drunk and dressed "sexy."
Similarly, I don't want to get eaten by a bear so I don't run through the forest in a ham suit.
TheDarthTBone 7 months ago
@TheDarthTBone He spends more time talking about how drunk she is then he does about how some creeper decided to rape and kill her. That would be like me saying a man got lost in a bad area while wearing a fancy watch, and going on about how stupid he is to get lost and why doesn't he use GPS or something, and well if he gets mugged and killed over that watch, well, then, really, he shouldn't have gotten lost.
It's sad that I have to compare rape to mugging for some people to understand.
jennapinkham 7 months ago
@TheDarthTBone what you do is clearly victim blaming? So I am not allowed to go out at night, have adrink adn dress sexy because I might get raped? The man who decide to ake advantage of a intoxicated women who are the only ones to blame. And even if she were freaking naked - it is only the guy's fault she got raped. Or shall women wear burkas instead to not risk any assualts? Go back to the 1800's.
ledzepgirl92 6 months ago
