  • You'd freez todeath before mmine started. Worse engine I've ever had to start.

  • I have two of these a 8hp and 10hp they do the job but both run like shit loud and uneven junk carbs right from the factory that's why Tecumseh is not around anymore!!!

  • I used to have this same generator with the Techumseh engine (didn't have it long enough to have any problems with it), it was too loud & one of my neighbors called the cops during a power outage. The cop made me turn it off or have it confiscated (outtage lasted days), I sold it & bought a pair of Honda EU-2000i generators instead. The neightbor called the cops during another outage but this time the cop went & paid the neighbor a visit once the cop heard how quiet my generators where.

  • well, mine is like that to, mine needs the carb rebuilded, easy job to do, mine has the techumseh engine on it, they are bad for carb problems, good luck with it , i gotta fix mine before winter lol

  • GO GO GO!!!

  • hey, it iss a hm100 that is the carb that it takes but i can not seem to find a new one but i can get a kit and rebuild the one on it thanks ,kevin

  • @hamtalker2007 i got a coleman powermate generator, it;s 5000 watts it works good but there is one problem. when i take it out from choke to run the machine cuts off so i does jus leave it on choke and let it work for the whole time. Do you know whats the reason it cuts off wen i puts it on run ????

  • @RAWLENCHARLES clean your carberouter. there are many videos on how to do it on yt. good luck!

  • no, it is not grounded, there are talking about a 8 ft copper rod that you drive in to the ground, we have used this one for years and have not used a ground rod, thanks man take care,

  • I have the same generator. What model carburetor does it take? Thanks, Dave

  • is your generator grounded. i was looking at a one and someone told me that they have to be grounded to some rod.

  • oh yeah and if you could get me a video of your generatori can tell you probly what you need.

  • ok, well josh it haves a shut off switch on the front of the engine to shut it off and all generators should have a govener that lets the enignie run faster to handal the load , so he is missing the shutoff for the engine, and i think the model for the card on mine is a hm100 i think , i will make you a video if you would like to show you the shut off switch and the carb to help you, hope this is some help let me know if you need more help bro take care , kevin

  • Hey, a friend of mine has one of these units for sale and he came by to ask me a few questions. The run and stop lever has no springs or rods or anything to make it function. I was wondering if you could help me out with the routing of the linkage of this particular carb. I have had a hard time finding the right pics of this unit to be able to see exactly what he is missing. The gen runs, but wide open. To stop engine, we have to choke out carb. Any help would be greatly appreciated.JOSH

  • hey yeah it has a tecumseh on it came from the factory like that. the carb needs ajustment. but the generator only haves around 20 hours on it and it is 10 years old

  • wow, that coleman generator has a tecumseh engine on it, thought all coleman generators have briggs engines on it, like my coleman generator i got, it has a briggs engine
