Hallo. I am not an Isshinryu practitioner however, I have been studying martial arts for 43 years and have been teaching since '82 and was very impressed with your kata! (Isshin1's comments make good sense). I was equally impressed with your respectful attitude to your seniors. You will go far!
Just a helpful little hint if you want to get better: Do you fight like a robot? No? Then why are you practicing your Kata like one? Give that a think. It will help you find the deeper meaning of what you are doing.
I have been in the art for a long time. I do have to say. For a mna....you better put some power into that and mean it! Good job....take some nads to post and take flak from guys like me.
this is excellent advice. i recently got my black belt in Isshinryu and this kata still is one very tricky to master because of the footing and balance aspect.
i am a 5th dan in isshinryu and have been studying for 15yrs. i think the kata was executed very well. you had excellent posture and techinque. everything was crisp and strong. shimbabuku would be proud to see purple belts showing this type of talent
I appreciate your kind words sensei. It is always good to hear form someone with respect, (even if I have yet to earn it) and kind, humble comments. I have soince then fixed up some breathing erros and technique. Next to be posted, Wansu and Chinto. Arigatou Gozaimasu
My one piece of advice is: pay attention to staying erect when doing the footwork. Avoid leaning, and keep your spine straight. Doing naihanchi kicks should never cause you to bend. Good practicing.
Since when does isshin ryu have a purple belt?
