  • Lovely. (I second that dreamboat.)

  • Billy, you're a Blessed man.

  • The other day, I told my husband that I wanted to hear those three little words I haven't heard in a long time. He said, "Honey, you know I love you." I said, "No, no, not that." The three words I'm longing to hear are "Need some help?"

  • One of my favorites...great song to sing at parties.

  • cara tento entender..o rock em si é hoje uma piada...não se fazem musica como antigamente Elvis é o exemplo claro que rock pertence ao passado pq hoje em dia tudo é copia dos sucessos do passado..é a pura verdade sem maldade

  • jumpin that was funny lol

  • His child needs a MOM and I can help!

  • oh hell no he did not just say if your child needs a daddy i can help!!

  • i am 14 years old and i love this song. i'm so used to listening to hip-hop and rap and rock, but i still love old country. no affence to anyone who takes affence to that ^_^

  • brilliant song...does anyone know the chords to the song and a strumming pattern that works ?

  • skip heller is a dreamboat

  • great song!! love it.

  • Me hace feliz recordando mi adolescencia.

    Divino tema, divina versión.

  • I thought the singer was a black dude...

  • sounds like Jerry Garcia...

  • paranoid park <#3

  • I remember this song from way back. Most guys today, when they find out you're a single Mom, they're not saying "I can help"; they're running down the streets screaming, "OH HELL NOOOOOOOOO!" lol.

  • sehr sehr gut !! 100 % =)

  • El autor es tan grande, que con una sola canción es el que más ha dicho en el pop mundial. Saludos.

  • The guitarist with Billy is Skip Heller....a walking encyclopedia of music, EVERY kind of music. Be it Rock & Roll, Rockabilly, Blues or Klezmer, this guy knows it all. I have called on him Many times for various projects..he has worked with vaious artists in varied fields.... Rockabilly artists as well as Chris Montez, Ima Sumack, Les Baxter and some of the top Klezmer artists in the world..a great guy and VERY passionate about music.

  • @PutOnASweater - I first came across Skip's name in a glowing tribute to Les Baxter & he was kind enough to trade a few messages with me, too.

A very minor musician myself, I have the same interest in music that he does & have built a channel to demonstrate that - 450 public playlists averaging 2 hours each for 300+ artists, several genres & instruments and a list for every year since 1900, so you can listen like you've stepped back in time.

Worldwide in scope, the best music you've never heard!

  • @chkjns I've been on your pages MANY times and spent many hours there...Can't get enough Percy Faith or Ray Connif...Thanks for the invite!

  • wheres the original?

  • mmm....nope billy is best!

sorry elvis the guitarist with him is great too!

  • This is good. But Elvis just tops this easily.

  • Why would you compare Billy Swan to Elvis? That makes no sense.

I love Elvis...Billy Swan is great too.

  • Amazing! After all those years he owns the song note by note and his voice sounds just like 33 years ago. Good on ya Billy.

  • the original is a classic, I love the way the song just keeps going on, catches out DJs still

  • his voice sounds just as good as the original

  • At the end he says Better than nuthin' hahaha.

  • Great song guys, brings back so many moemories.. What model epi's are you playing?

  • Nice song!!!

  • Fantastico, a favorite for sure.

  • The last real "Rock and Roll" song.

    Thanks Billy!

  • That's "Billy Swan"????

    Oh my god!

  • I have to comment! MY dad used to make me think this song was for my mommy in the early 70's!!!

  • I love this song Uncle Billy. I miss you and love you. Your niece Alexandria

  • Billy was a bodyguard for Elvis when he wrote this song. Elvis did it on the 'Today' album and it really kicks. Great unplugged version!

  • When this song came out, I thought this sounded EXACTLY like Prez. Jimmy Carter would sound if he was a country singer! I always hoped Saturday Night Live would do a skit with Jimmy Carter singing this, but it never happend.

I wonder if him a Billy Swan was from the same area-anybody know?

Close your eyes and imagine Jimmy Carter up at the podium singing this!

  • Art, this is wonderful! Billy must have discovered the fountain of youth. He's still gorgeous. His voice strong and joyous without a hint of aging. He still sings like a twenty year old pop star but his mind is deep as an ocean. He has seen it all, but through it all, he a remains a kindly gentleman. Check out "The Mighty Handful."

  • that looks like the real deal....Lucille...!

  • met him a couple of times realy nice bloke

  • Can't wait for mine to die.

  • This is the Ultimate M.I.L.F. Song!!!!!

  • Years later and I STILL have a crush on him!LOL

  • i used to roller skate to this song at great skate south in decatur, illinois....what a great memory

  • So sorry about your mom. I miss mine too. Peaceful and grateful song@

  • im sorry about your mom:(

  • man thats i fine memory cuse this song is good

  • This is a great memory! My mom loved this song! Each time it would come on the radio she would go nuts! I heard it the other day and looked it up here, Takes me back. It's like she is saying hi from the other side.
