  • yo man is that the alpine sub that you took apart?

  • @loudtowncar, yessir it is! I still have that sub sittin in my room for a door stopper!

  • @Monkeypumper420 does it still work???

  • nice, i like how you made your grounds clean and no excess paint scratchs

  • are you running the 9886 cd reciever? I'm wondering cause I'm running a Kenwood right now but I'm thinking of upgrading to Alpine and would like to know how good it is for tuning sound, I'm building an SQL system instead of my reagular SPL and want the nice clean sound

  • @the1onlyteagro, if you get this deck for SQ, I HIGHLY reccomend the imprint unit to go with it. It opens a whole slew of EQ adjustment and other things that will help you fine tune your setup.

Look at the new pioneers too, they are really good sounding decks too.

  • another good video!!

lol ive even got one of ur videos on my myspace page

  • @knicholas83107, right on bro! Hell yea!

  • hey bro how much wire did you use for the big 3 got the same truck and dont u need a fuse from the alt to the battery?? or I works good like u have it?

  • cool. but are you free today? im going to around mission valley center around 5.

  • @imupabove, Call me bro. PM sent...

  • waddup with that demo??

  • @imupabove, we need to do that real soon before I off the Alpine equipment in there! You deffinatly have to see the before and after! Call me this friday, or on the weekend if fridays not good for you. This weekend for sure man, we need to do this. Been talking about it too long! Your not far either!

  • your system is definitly one of my favorite to watch..5* for sure

  • @knicholas83107, Thanks! I appreciate the comment and the stars bro! Glad you like my vids! I'll keep 'em coming, and there will be some major upgrades coming this next year. Stay tuned!

  • Looks nice bruh

  • @NcHalfrican, right on! Thanks mang!

  • thats bad as hell bro goin to the fuse block first!!! u never sece to amaze me!!

did i not see the vid of u gettin 3 type R 12"s in yer truck???

  • @LILitaly773, right on bro! Thanks for the compliment! I had to get kinda bad to get the wires to fit, cause they were too big. Nothing a lil cutting and sanding can't solve! You can't even tell I did it. It looks factory. That one R on the very right was an extra that was out of the box. It was just sittin on the seat. I was having problems with the terminals to the tinsel leads of the subs loosening up on me, so I swapped it in till I got it figured out(Needed re-tightening).

  • Oh! I saw new tires finaly. :)

  • @tom58c, Yea, they actually have tread now! When I went to get them, I thought my camera was in the truck so I could get a serious smoke session going on for my channel. I ended up leaving it at my house... Oh well, next time around.

  • hey man u think tha big 3 i can do it with 2 runs of 4 gauge each

  • @rockford13power, Sure you can! It will help more than you might think. I gained over a whole volt! I did the big three to my freinds 98 Tahoe, and he gained close to a volt too! Do it man, you will not be disapointed!

  • hey well instead of 0 gauge can i use 2 runs of 4 gauge for each.

  • @rockford13power, Yea you sure can. That is equal to a 1ga run, just a hair bigger technically. Your good to pull a lil over 100 amps without too much of a voltage drop pending the length of the run. What do you plan on installing for audio equipment?

  • @rockford13power, Dude.. I just saw what your running. You need to supply the amp ALONE with 220 amps when running it full tilt. You'll be pulling the full wattage if the box rise stays at one ohm or lower. You NEED a 1/0ga run to get current to your amp. A run with 1/0 to the back has to be done too. Make your ground connections to the framerail and not the sheet metal. Trust me, you need every drop for that amp. A second battery in the back will help the voltage drop a whole bunch as well.

  • alright man ima get started right now. hey how can i tell wen the sub is fully broken in. will the cone get less stiff.?

  • @rockford13power, cool. A sub generally takes a few days of long listening at moderate power to break in. That AQ 18 you have will always be stiff, but it will loosen up quite a bit. Just don't run the sub full out right out the box. I mean you can, I do, and so do many other people and niether I or the other people have ever had a problem. Your not capable of full power just yet anyay, so just listen to it loud as you can with no distortion and you should be fine.

  • yea damn thing is stiff as fuck still. ill put sum new vid of it with tha big 3 and yellow top

  • @rockford13power, Right on! I'll keep an eye out for it. If you have any questions don't be afraid to ask, even if it's sumthin dumb. PM me if you wan't to even.

  • @rockford13power, oh... GOOD LUCK! Wear saftey glasses bro. Sparks and hot molten metal in the eye = no bueno.

  • so its better to get the ground from tha chassis then like from were it came stock sheet metal. also were is it good to get the ground to the ground. i got it from the seat.

  • Love the setup. Keep it up? What type of alt do you have?

  • @LooseCannon48, Thanks dude! It's a work in progress. I'm getting the electrical ready for amp upgrades. I need another run of 1/0ga for the + and -. The Sundown amps are going to be current thirsty bastards so I need to get some more copper to feed them. Right now I only have a 136 amp alternator, but before too long I'll drop a 220 amp unit in. I'm sure I'll post that up when it's complete. All I have to do is drop it in now:)

  • I have the same thing in mind. I am hoping to have my new alt by next week. I am not quite sure when I plan on adding a second run. I really have to map everything out now. Its time to break out my tape measure so I can get some measurements. Copper is too expensive to waste some I wanna make sure I have no more than 2ft extra.

  • The best way I found to do it is to take some string, and make your runs with that. Then measure the strings all up and place your order. It never hurts to have a lil extra though. I used ALL my extra, and now I need more. You'll use it bro, trust! There's always a distro block, or an amp run from the blocks to make so I assure it won't go to waste.

  • I was thinking the exact same. I have some kite string I was gonna use. Good luck!

  • ok so here we go,alternator hot straight into the fuse blocks.....fuse blocks?ya here we go..making my own fucking words now!

lmao dude u crack me up when u go into 3rd person in ur vids.....nice job on the upgrade, nice n clean

  • @jonmanch3st3r, yea, I tend to do that when I catch myself being retarded! Lol!

Thanks for the compliments bro! Doesn't look like much work really, but it took me a couple hours by the time I was done with soldering the charging wire terminals. Turnes out nice, and now I have enough room for more runs of 1/0ga. I want to make another run of + and - to the back so when the Sundown amps go in they get the current and voltage they need. Planning for 2 18's 5000+ watts and 150 DB's next summer!

  • cant wait to tune into that build bro

  • any major differences other than better voltages?

  • @imupabove, well, when I am churning RPM's, especially anything over 2000 RPM's, the voltage is way higher, and the amps run cooler. Seems like more punch from the bass, and the mids and highs sound ultra clean. Also the batteries get topped off all the way before I shut my truck down now, so I can bump with it off for a bit longer. Batteries at rest sit @ 13.7 now. It was WELL worth the time and $. Best thing I have done yet since adding the extra battery and battcap.

  • thats a nasty track hey my man lol 6/6

  • Right on! Thanks big E!

  • Yep, that steering wheel moved alright. Its just hard to fathem I guess 2 type r's going that in sealed. Then you want sundown stuff so, it'll be good. 5*

  • @tom58c, yea it moves in person when your looking at it, but my camera sucks. You really have to look for it. It only moves like that on low, low, low frequencies so it's hard to pick up. The whole dash does too.

Ya know? Even after al this time with the R's in a sealed box, they still impress me. I can't wait till get a hold of some real deal audio equipment. That Sundown stuffs going to be ripping sheet metal... I see mad carnage on the horizon. Just have to save and spend wisley!

  • Get a 21 inch for 650, lol JK.

No it will be good. Just waiting for the day I can get into it. But yeah that Direct TV thing will be cool for ya.

  • @tom58c, That would be hectic!. A 21'' sub would be one low end monster. And I thought I heard deep bass! Lol! I think I when the Sundown stuff is in I'll be going deaf quickly! Shooting for 150's by next summer...

  • Sicks system man, always able to please with your vids!

Glad you finished the big three man, sounds as sick as ever..

keep em coming, ill be posting some vids of my system in this coming week, nothing compared to yours by any means but still sounds decent!

  • @xChikox, thanks bro! I just slapped this one up with no editing... I'm lazy! Lol! I'm glad you enjoyed the vid! The big 3 made a hell of a difference... I show the voltage in the next vid that's uploading.

I'm subbed so I'll see your vids! If your close I'm selling everything audio related exept the deck and door speakers. I have buyers, but their broke ATM so it's all up for grabs to the person with the $!

  • i'm waiting for a nice sunny day to make a video of my 2 12" R's..hot day = more flex. Also my driver window is broken so i can't row them down lol

  • @xregulatorx, damn that sucks! I would HATE life, if my windows couldn't go down! I have no AC at the moment(till I buy a condenser core anyway) so the oven air needs to get the hell out! Lol! It's cooling down though, and at least my heater works!

Your 100% right though, Hot days = WAY better flex. This vids not as good as my others cause it was cool out, and my truck was just pulled out of the shade.

  • i get elbow flex when i drive ;)

  • @xregulatorx, No way bro!!! That's CRAZY!!! Lol!
