@sapphirenaruto Yeah, after watching a bunch of videos and trying for days I didn't get it, but it eventually happened, it just takes time. Only other tips then on this video I would say, cause it's pretty spot on, are don't go to a patch if there is another one that shakes in the same row/column and don't let a patch of grass go out of frame. Also, look up pokemon you want and their appearance rate. It all takes time.

@sapphirenaruto it takes time to get good at it so you have to practice a lot. You also have to be patient and keep calm, believe me you will get frustrated a lot but it's worth it after all.

When you get to 40 at a chain do you keep going with the same pattern, or do you just go to the shiny patch no matter its position?

@Vaperise You can keep going but it's better to stop going into the patches you were chaining at 40 and keep running around, resetting the pokeradar and using repels until you see a shiny patch, not to be confused with the glittery, violent shaking patch.

thanks. this guide really helped me to understand how to use the poke radar. although, i did ran into a shiny machop on route 207 without using the poke radar, but i just guessed it was luck with a really bad sense of timing. i've tried doing this with mareep on pokemon platimun, but i completly lost intrest. oh well.

actually you will know a shiny pokemon is olcated on your poke radar when the grass sparkels then its has 2 extra big sparkles but the extra sparkels appear fast so you have to look closely(this is how i got my shiny krikitune).

I played leafgreen, and pearl for three years total. I showed my friend pokemon and he jumped in. About two weeks into his game he catches a gold geodude. I called him a liar because i didnt believe it, but he showed it to me. I now have platinum, soulsilver, and black. I STILL havent seen ONE shiny pokemon. @permazek go to spear pillar if you havent gotten dialga or palkia yet walk up 2 the portals save start the fight soft reset (press L R start and selct at the same time) fight one of them repeat untill you have a shiny legendary it works i have a friend that did it this could take a long time but it works i didnt find out till i had them all and i dont want to restart it works with giratina too
