I have another suggestion for you, for your plexyglass lamps. I once tried something similar with my mandala pictures and IKEA had squareshaped lamps, where you can change and remove screens, so you could put your plexyglass on top instead of the screens that are delivered with them. If I remember and you are interested I can tell you also the name of this type of lamp. Greetings!
@nikkivieler Your telling me how expensive it is...the good thing is i get more for my art here than i do in other countries. I guess we pay high tax for a good health system...:)
Well, if you get more for your pieces than that seems all right then...
I've come back from South Africa, and I agree that one should pay more for the health care, as you know that if you get in trouble you don't hve to worry if the paramedics will treat you o not!!!
That light u showed with your pexiglass art could maybe be muted by getting some of those translucent, colored films they use for stage lights. Or I wonder if there's a way to add a dimmer toggle to it? There are lamps with dimmer toggles on the cord, Hmmmm!? Love seeing your work.....thanx for the great lighting ideas!...;)
@decafjnr The LED's i have come with a small magnet. All i do is place the magnet somewhere on the back of the artwork. When i want to turn it on i simply remove it and afterwards i replace the magnet to turn it off again.
Hey, Gary! Regarding the Encaustic art and lighting, why not use a battery powered fluorescent tube? They sell them pretty cheap and they are very little weight and durable. Try to look for them in the hardware stores or Ikea...if you have them in Norway.
@Cr3ativity That is a good idea, and i take it you can get them in shapes apart from the standard long light saber type? And have you seen them small? I'll definitely be off to Ikea next week and will see what other alternatives i can find....thanks for sharing your thoughts.
hmmm cheap lighting for art...uranium? Maybe candles for the Amish? lol.I have used x-mas lights before After the holidays are over you see them almost for free, you can cut the amount of little lights off, reconnect the plug and you are good to go, this way you can have more then one source of light as well, and maybe even colored ones. If you bundle them they should not get to hot, may it will work for Mo to.
I have only ever used Christmas lights until finding these LED's. And i did exactly what you have said and cut them to the number i need. It works well for sure and if you can't get a hold of LED's then a good alternative so thanks for sharing your ideas :)
Nicely explained and very helpful. Thank you.

well mate, if you lived in another country you wouldn't have to spend so much, From what I heard Norway has incredibly high tax rates...
The worst I heard was that the price of a coke in the cafe's is about 8 euro's?!?
Even in Holland a coke doesn't cost much more than 2 euro's...
Oh well good luck mate and if I see some cheap led lights I'll tell you...
