Nice i have a 2005 Saturn ion 2.2L. I polished my tarnished aluminum valve cover chrome and did some paint work on my engine. I have a B&M exhaust tip and 17 inch Datt rims. mine is 5 speed manuel.

hey, nice car, i have a ion but im looking for a exhaust tip did you have to do anything to your stock exhaust for it to come straight out or did ou just put the tip on? also aftermarket shift knobs? mine slids off it isnt a screw on? can you get aftermarket shift knobs! thanks alot and nice car!!

Do you want a clean sound that will cost you around 70$-100$ depending on muffler shop and a tip? It wont do any performance but it sounds low pitch and better than any honda rice cannon.

is the 2.2 the same as the one in the cavalier? I was about to buy an ion for a good gas car and I found one with 12k on it for under 10 grand, its a friends, and the engine says ecotec on it, so I thought it would be the same as the cavalier ecotec, true?

there are a few small changes but yes it is the same motor as the 03+(?) Cavaliers.

Depends what year cavalier. i think it is 2003+ where you see the ecotec in it. I have seen ecotec engines in HHRs, Malibus, Cobalts, Cavaliers, ions, and skys.

It's great until your key cylinder fails and you have your key stuck with the ignition still on. And then you replace it with another one and that goes bad in three months. Although I will admit, it is a fun game. "Will my Ion let me have my key back this time or will I sit in the parking lot looking like a fool for ten minutes?" It gets old, trust me. I can't wait to get rid of that thing.

At least it is not a gutted out honda civic screaming rice with only 98hp trying to modify it to gain 10hp and still get beat by 99% of the cars on the road today. GM makes great cars STFU and go whine somewhere else. I drive a saturn ion and love it. Great car sounds great runs great.
