  • I read that "marrone" was the factory name for the colour of this car. I also read that McQueen got shut of it because it wore out valve guides quickly. "High Maintenance"...but then so many things of true beauty are.

  • At 0:03, the bloke said "orgy".

  • 1,7 MILLION DOLLAR!

  • Sebring è in Florida, non in California.

  • *maRRone metalliZZato

    Double r and double z

  • Blue & Green...are amazing colors for this car.

  • Steve McQueen's wife was not the first person to purchase this car. I work for a physician in Pasadena, who first purchased this car. We have pictures of him with the car, and he sold it to Steve McQueen. The auction house did not want to hear any of this.

  • True, and also my father serviced this car when he worked at Ferrari of Long Island. He showed me pictures of it.

  • phantastically beautiful car! questions to the experts:

    1) what model is it?

    2) from what year is it?

    3) performance? (horse powers? top speed? 0-100 kmh?) engine? (v12?)

    4) how many of this model where produced? how many do you expect remain today?

    5) what would be the price today of a ferrari of this model in good condition?

    thx! :)

  • 1. 250 GT Lusso (Italian for Luxury)

    2. 1963

    3. 3.0 Liter V12, 260hp

    4. 350

    5. $500,000 is the current market value (however this car sold for $2.3 million)

  • Addendum:

    2. First shown 1962; production cars 1963 - 1964.

    3. 150 mph, 8s 0-60mph (re V12 - 12 (cylinders) x 250 (cc) (as in 250GT) = 3000cc (3 litres) !)

    5. The higher price is due to the fact that this was Steve McQueen's car, and to a lesser extent that it is arguably the most beautifully restored example in existence.

P.S. Google it! (i.e. Ferrari 250GTL (Steve McQueen)) - plus lots of pictures at Google image. For many (including me) the most beautiful Ferrari, ever!

  • and the colour is "marone metallizato" very very beautiful elegant colour. This men (steeve) had class and style

  • the colour is "marone metallizato"beautiful!!!
