I find it interesting that the DPCM samples commonly used by Hirokazu Tanaka are unused and present in the ROM. Knight Move, Earthbound-Mother and a few other games composed by Hirokazu Tanaka use the same sample. Early Tetris games developed by Nintendo have interesting histories (Game Boy Tetris 1.0 and 1.1, Tetris NES, and Tetris & Dr. Mario for the SNES)
There is one unused song in Tetris that was presumably going to be used for the Title Screen judging by the song index table.
@nensondubois All of the tables I encountered seemed to be a corrupted mess, which is possible because it's simple music engine will accept most anything. I did, however, notice that one corruption had a sort of drum beat that used a very short bass drum like sound using the DPCM.
@nensondubois Would you happen to be good with FCEUX's RAM hex editor? I need to find out what byte to change to initiate music. If I can find it, I'll be finished with a Lua script that plays the unused music at the title screen.
@retrotails Yes, and I made a music modifier RAM code and it can be found at gscentral (don't have the time to look now, sorry). I can do further hacking to get the song init, but I will have to do so later.
Dude, thats just music 1 playing slower.

Dislike as It is used, you just hacked it to cause the channels to get screwed up, thus the video title is misleading.

Chrisman7878 4 months ago
@Chrisman7878 um... what? "deselected of the sound options?" I got this through RAM hacking, which can't be done on a console.
