I remember seeing this "How It's Made" about seven years ago. I remember how much that level looked like one I bought a year or so before. Didn't think about it more than that; just thought I had a very nice level for about $50. ... Had to level a billiards table today, didn't have my level. It was on my other truck. We eyeballed level for the pool table. To no avail.
I have this level, in front of me, now. In the vid. @ 4:50 the stamp reads 128 ; mine is stamped 092 and is No. 748
it makes you wonder how long it took ppl years ago to make a level,...and onother thing, is, since they didnt have our modern technology.. how did they do it?...but then again,..no old buildings have fell over for lack of a messed up level.
Still water would always be perfectly horizontal... And its not difficult to find a perfectly 90 degree angle with the pythagoras theorem... the ancients aren't as helpless as we sometimes assume
