@changkahn you could assemble as many of the original production team as you could and start making an elite force 3 yourself, once it's done pitch it to a publisher like EA (if it's a success Activision will turn it into call of duty) and see what happens

They did do a patch update with Jeri Ryan voicing 7 of 9. :-) Makes her dialogue 1000 times better.

i remember playing this game first came out when i played it i caught hooked on it

this game after i played it i would watch star trek for hours at a time i wont have ever seen star trek had it not be for this game... so to all the people at raven i loved your work.. is it possible for you to make a 3 elite force

The games(Star Trek Voyager I and II) are compatible with all OS including Windows 7.(Use direct instaler and not autoplay instaler).....The best Star Trek game so far.

In II you have even romance similar to Mass Effect and you have to chose between an alien romance or a human romance .(I played every game six times)

I had this game on the ps2 however someone cracked my disk and hid it my next generation dvd box sets. grrrrrrr

I may have to download it for pc because it was really really good.

What Star Trek games are really good? I remember playing 25th Anniversary and I loved it. This one got great reviews. I hear the two Academy games are great. But there are so many more, and you never seem to hear about them.

I introduced my best friend to Star Trek via Elite Force. He fell in love with Star Trek after our first round in split-screen on the PS2, Voyager especially, and the best part is, he was a Star Wars fan at the time, now he's like me on the whole subject: he can't decide. XD

Very good review. The PC game is superior to the ps2 version I find, as that has no bots, no Internet multiplayer and the graphics are somewhere choppy. Both have that story, as well as being ( I think) one of the first games to not be "one man against the universe", ala Doom.

Theres a mod that allows you to put the actual Voyager theme onto the intro sequence and its a lot better than that generic theme they made for the game.

Ahhh... the good old days of specialties CTF: team-killing demolitionists with their detpacks and rogue medics with their hypo-sprays set to kill (alternate attack button)... INFILTRATORS!! Man, I remember how stressed out i used to be on Specialties servers where non-talented people kept choosing the infiltrator class to get a cheap flag capture...... and then there was the under-grabbing on certain maps (grabbing the flag from under the floor).... I miss those glitches!

this game is definitely a classic and one of the best Startrek implementations I have seen. however I agree with the reviewer it is way too short you could easily finish it in less than 1 day. its a shame they didnt make a sequel or addon packs for this game.

You can roam the ship if you buy the elite force expansion pack. I got it. Its brilliant you can vistit 11 decks of the ship and activate red alert and switch off the warp core. Ask google for more info

Man, I remember this game. It was one of the only games to be released on the Mac (only games worth playing) and I played the shit out of it.

That level with the Classic Trek ship that was wrecked in the scrapyard was great. Just an eerie setting with these people in what were essentially TOS Uniforms except so far removed from the federation in a wrecked hulk. Very cool.

in the expansion pack to this game simply titled "Star Trek Voyager Elite Force: Expansion Pack" you can finally use the tricorder and explore the whole ship :D

is this better than star trek bridge commander ? because I really like to pilot a space ship and I don't think you can do that in this game

I've never played Bridge Commander so I wouldn't know. I suppose BC might be better for you if you want to pilot a vessel as you don't get to do that in Elite Force, it's just an out-and-out shooter.

@MrJodete23 no you don't get to pilot any ships iot's just a basic FPS game really I like Bridge commander too buit both games have theior good points and if you can get the Expansion pack as well thern you will get everybody's actual voices asthey have put Jeri ryan's voice on the Expansion pack so you can play with 7 of 9 as well

would have been great if they merged this with a voyager version of bridge commander to make a decent simulation, rather than a tunnel vision role of just one character and nothing else. Ive also noticed theres been no improvements with graphics in the games between 1999 and 2006, really is a shame.

Star trek always will be the series with an almost infinite potential level that only ever received half-assed games at best.

Thanks for the review! As one of the main people behind the game (Michael Chang Gummelt - created the characters, wrote the script, did the squad AI and scripted several parts of the game), I really appreciate both your accolades and criticisms (that end boss was really horrible - done by someone who was planning to leave). Funny now that games under 10 hours win game of the year! :) BTW, the length criticism is what led Jedi Outcast to have too many puzzles and take too long to start... :)

SV:EF has to be my favourite PC FPS to date and the length critique is simply an acknowledgement that it was terrific fun and a fantastically made title that I, the player, wanted to go on for as many hours as possible. The script and characters were tight so great job on that and thanks again for commenting!

@changkhan Because you have an industry driven by shooters whose fans demand eye candy instead of depth and short "campaigns" because they haven't the patience to experience the story unless there is constant action (i.e. Call of Duty). But then you also occasionally find games like Fallout 3 where you can easily blow 20 hours poking your nose into everything and still not see everything in the game world.

@474hitman A Star Trek: Elite Force 3 will highly be unlikely. Shortly after Star Trek: Elite Force 2 was released, the entire 'Elite Force Programming Team' was laid off.

Thanks, I too think this is an underappreciated game and were it to have just a few things more going for it, it would've replaced Timesplitters 2 as my favourite FPS ever. Still tops the FPS single-player experience though despite it's length.
