Pardon me but Yim Win Chun was not a "jeune". She was taught by Ng Mui who was the monk. Originally, Ng Mui was the one who created the style and name was given after she taught Win Chun.
Great Video! I wish I understood the language , but I can guess the story . Anyway , I think this is Sifu Didier . His Wing Chun is Very Fine - 1st Class Yip Man Lineage ! Thanks for post this .
The thing about all the WC fighters I've seen is this...No one really knows how to use it in real combat situations...People are not robots and they just simply don't come at you the same way one would in practice..
I think we can say that for any system.. until you find a a situation with a pesron who truly understands the given system mentally and physically.. I suspect if you just teach someone how to punch and kick.. they themselves will manifest its effectiveness when it comes up. even if they do not have 1000 techniques in their mind.. sorry hehe in summary im saying its the individual always not the system.. a person who wins or loses using a system is still a result of the person what do you think?
jeet kune do is all about expressing yourself and is not considered a stye i believe its effective. they teach you how to kick and punch and to train your body to prepare you for anything.
You are both right and wrong. Wrong in the idea that you would only assume that a real Wing Chun male/female would attack as they would in the school. Each techniques is separated to where we know how to use it in any situation---even if the person holds a gun. Because you never see it in movies or on youtube or whatever, that is why you can absolutely say that and it would be true to every word.
i think wc-practice is about building up muscle-memory, so that at any forward attack, we react by reflex, not necessarily the "correct" way for that specific attack, but so to initially reflect the force, and get into a position our body knows, and then take it from there. i mean, there are basicly 3 blocks in wc, tan, bong and fuk sau. as long as a good wc artist get ne of those up initially, they are in a situation/position they have dealt with thousands of times in training
well i dont know about wing chun, but in the wing tsun school i attend we train with an attacker atacking in all different ways from committed to non committed attacks
Good stuff he is really good, I have been learning for about 8 months now and love it! My teacher is actually in China for the Olympics at the moment.

there are no blocks in wing chun, only wedges and deflections.

so hopefully taking it from a bong sau will be easy fast and correct, simply by muscle memory...
