  • Little bit like the the bride walks out

  • great trailer and film.

  • No man pulls a gun on a priest!

  • This movie is scary.

  • no refunds

  • @StockingsTube

Is it how he it sounds like he says "this is the fucking story"?

  • listen to 0:24 over and over.

  • This was a fucked up movie...

  • fantastic!!!!! thanks to have posted this!

  • An effectively spooky movie.

  • Glad I found the dvd for this. Bought it, watched it and enjoyed it.

Had to say that for a horror movie of its time, it had me trembling in shock at certain scenes.

One of the best, and is a must-watch..

  • With a POSITIVELY NO REFUNDS guarantee, how can you go wrong?

  • @jacobocaj777 the NO REFUNDS line is probably for people who leave the movie because it's too scary. Kind of a marketing thing, makes it sound scarier that they're saying that.

  • this was made the year i was born... and I have coulrophobia

  • Insidious brought me here

  • Carnival of Howie

  • classic horror perfection.

  • Horror novel see video book trailer

  • Yes my emotion when I watch this is just lol!

  • LOL! This was on Weirdo A Go-Go! XD

  • this was such a beautiful movie...it reminded me of last year at marienbad. great film.

  • Saw this when I was sick and drowsing, many years ago. The layers of imagery and innuendo in this film will drive you MAD. They could have shot it a a silent; it IS almost silent, the dialogue is incidental. The images and cinematography tell you all you need to know, but you'll debate the real meaning of the entire film, and of certain key scenes, with you friends until either you, or they , or all of you are dead.

  • A great classic spooky film that still has the power to haunt.

If you are interested in a 3D conversion of Carnival of Souls, please go to my channel to see 3D samples and a link to my website.

  • aint seen this, but heard its real creepy. Will have 2 check it out

  • i love old movie treailers always saying things like "the most exiting movie of all time" or "the most shocking movie ever "

  • Carnival of Goths

  • @Khantikone123, LMAO!!! Hilarious! True though!

  • The only thing creepier than this movie is the ad for "Sarah PAC" that pops up on the bottom!

  • Hi.

hj179 The project I am currently working on is about the old Saltair Resort in the film "Carnival of Souls". It has taken me at least 1150 hrs. so far. I have about another 3-4 wks. to finish and submit to lecturer at end of this term. My eyes are going blurry from all this staring at a computer screen. When it's finished and edited with soundtrack I will post it on my site.

    Cheers

  • Without a doubt this film must have influenced David Lynch.

  • @kenuzy1

If you want to see a film that 'influenced' David Lynch, then you must see 'The Inauguration of the Pleasure Dome'.

  • I love this movie!!! Its like a sweet twilight zone episode made into a movie!!!!!

Dreamlike scenes!!!!!!!!!!!! I love her look!!!!!!!

  • 1:25 - Britains next top model, 'Joy' got her teeth fixed!

  • My 3D conversion of this film should be ready in a couple of months. I've spent 6 months working on it so far and some of the 3D scenes look excellent.

Out of respect for the original, I've left the film exactly the same apart from overlaying slightly different titles. The film is a creepy masterpiece. I watched it again a while back and it just haunts you for days afterwards. It's just one of those films that gets your mind thinking about mortality and the afterlife.

  • Ever notice how in Halloween (1978) Michael Myers appears in windows? John Carpenter has been quoted as saying he was influenced by Carnival of Souls. Herk Harvey appears in windows in Carnival of Souls.

  • George Romero got his make up ideas from this movie! Just some trivia there for you!

  • How's this for a Triple Feature--Carnival of Souls, Night of The Living Dead, and Psycho?

    No sleep that night.

  • An great masterpiece

  • great movie!

  • Old school movies FTW!

  • cool :) just pivked up a copy of this today for £1! not colorised either thank god.... it looks nice and creepy and strange, i love old horror movies, this one's been on my list for a long time :)

  • One of the most underrated horror films out there. I love the surrealism intertwined within this film, especially. What a great film!

  • i love horror movies and have seen hundreds of them, not one movie has been able to scare me, but this movie is just creepy as hell, didnt scare me but this is one of those movies you watch and just think, dammit tonight im going to dream this exact things is happening to me, its going to seem very realistic and im going to wake up in a puddle of sweat lmfao

  • Great movie. I think the ghost who's following her is kind of sexy--in a creepy way.

  • I watched this movie at crack of dawn because the whole movie reminds me that somehow. Its really a different experience.

  • Back when movies actually had atmosphere, not a bunch of CGI and loud soundtracks blasting your brain.

  • Believe it or not, night of the living dead was based off of this.George Romero admitted it. But it wasen't completely based off of this.

  • that guy looks like a combination of The Joker and Gman

  • Looks like my neighbours.

  • not really scary more like suspenseful... makes u feel helpless good movie nonetheless

  • God, I was watching this with my firends at 3 in the morning and at one point I looked at the window and said, "imagine if his face popped up in the..." WHAM! My friend's brother smacked his hand against the other side... I think I pissed myself that night

  • The audio for this trailer is out of sync towards the middle. At 1:10 the actress speaks, but her dialogue isn't heard until 1:25.

  • I live very close to where this movie was shot. Been over that bridge where the car goes over in the beginning.

  • @snownuke lucky lucky!

  • @snownuke does it feel scary going to the bride?

  • @snownuke So?

  • L'horror moderno nasce con questo film.

  • Such a fine film. Thanks for posting.

  • This was made with only 30,000 dollars and its considered a great film. Now, Hollywood filmmakers think they need hundreds of millions of dollars just to create a good film. But all you need is a good plot, good acting, and good management, (and a ton of money to get your film promoted. Sad but True). You dont need any 10 million dollar costing action sequences or CGI.

  • @andr0zz i 100% agree. Look at blair witch & paranormal activity both cost well under 1 million to make and both are scarier than any $100,000,000 horror film staring the newest 'hot actress' -_-

  • @andr0zz 30,000 dollars of then are worth much more now though

  • why LSD was invented.....

  • hows carnevil based on this

  • sick part

  • aahah so my dad tried to make me watch it, and when it started i positioned myself to where i couldnt see it cause i hate scary movies, and now seeing this trailer, its kinda sad that, thats what i was afraid of seeing D: im a whimp :(((

  • Actually it's a pretty creepy.

  • Really watch this alone in the middle of the night see if you don't get a little spooked.

  • The ideal conditions for watching this movie:

Be around 10 years old, alone in a room around midnight, watching TV.

Like I did. Honestly I'm surprised I made it through the whole movie. I had nightmares afterwards for some time.

  • Did the trailer guy really have to give away the fucking ending like that?!

  • ok...what is being said around 0:26? it sounds like 'this is the fucking story..' but i find that hard to swallow.

  • this is the shocking story...

and i think this is an awesome movie...=P

  • he said shocking :p

i know it sounds like it! ahah

  • I love this movie and watch it every Halloween.

  • Positively No Refunds!

  • thank you!! WHAT THE FFFFF DOES THAT MEAN??? That if it sucks so much yo can't ask for a refund???? Even they knew this piece of garbage sucked

  • No refunds because it's actually a very creepy movie and viewers might get scared enough to demand their money back. It's just a hook to get people interested.

This is actually a very good low budget movie, very creepy.

  • @jthix2112 Other hokey ways theaters used to "hook" viewers of horror movies was by providing a barf bags to each patron at the door, or offering "$1,000,000 insurance coverage" to anyone who died of fright during the film.

  • This is one of the best movies ever... Source of inspiration for plenty talented directors

  • So excited to see this at the Downing Film Center this halloween

  • same here =D

  • that trailer was lik e a giant spoiler!

  • This movie scared the shit out of me, and I thought I was a hardened horror fan (after seeing Cannibal Holocaust etc)

  • oh really--damn

well i guess what i mean is do a great remake

    XD

  • wonder how mindfuckish this would be if rob zombie did it

  • Yeah...Rob would spend the first half of the movie on the childhood of the main dead guy.

This movie isn't in a need to be remade. It's great as is.

  • this would be one of the movies i actualy want to see redone--love the original and i would love if they could do a good job of a new one

  • :DDDDDDDDDD

    love it

  • that dead bitch was hot...lol

  • imagine that david lynch remake of the carnival of souls!

  • they remade this?

  • A great atmospheric horror classic. The black and white just makes it all the more effective.

  • i hate the part when the guy is coming right at the camera and then it shows a piano.... :S

  • That was the creepiest part of the movie for me. What's great is that this is what she's seeing as she's playing an organ hypnotically. She just starts to see these images as she's sitting at a church organ.

  • Love this film, really underrated cult classic - one question though, is that Shatner narrating the trailer? lol

  • "Carnival of Souls" is a Twilight zone type thriller. Dare you to watch at 2 in the morning by yourself with all the lights off.

  • this is one of those (many) movies ive been meaning to check out for a long time..looks interesting

  • I heard they never explained the plot of the movie to her, and just gave her the day's lines and actions

Similar to Hitchcock when he directed Cary Grant in North by Northwest.

  • yea lol I think it did>I remember the scene where she's driving in her car and sees a fucking face in the passenger window

    krool upload killer

  • at 25 sec. did they say "this is the F**king story:?

  • HAHAHA. I wish. No, they said "shocking story."

  • Lmao "Positively NO refunds"

  • there's something about the scenes in this movie when the birds start singing after total silence - she knows she's alive again, for the moment....

  • This trailer doesn't do the film justice. It's a great film with an unsettling atmosphere and themes of isolation.

  • The trailer just doesn't do this movie justice. It makes it look as if it's all a freak show.

  • Great film, saw it late night on Channel 4 back in the 90's. Gonna get it on DVD...I think it's a far better film than the original Night of the living dead. I'm sure I read somewhere that it influenced Romero.

  • You are correct. It did influence Romero as well as David Lynch. The latter was inspired by the film's atmospherism(is that correct?)and used similar filmimg styles to make "The Alphabet,The Grandmother & Eraserhead".

  • 'atmospherics' is what youre looking for i think haha :)

damn yeh i only saw those Lynch shorts recently and....theyre more disturbing than a lot of his movies!

  • Aw, no MST3K treatment? The leering neigbour's kinda hot. I'd tap him.

  • haha i just watched this. great B-grade stuff.

"Carnival of Souls" is such a great name for a movie. the name itself was the reason i chose to download it.

    not to be missed!

  • really good film, shite trailer lol at 60s narrators

  • Between 1:26 and 1:28 . . .

Could that particular Soul be Elizabeth Montgomery?

  • For anyone that hasn't seen this film, I highly recommend it. For anyone that has seen it, please don't ruin it for those who haven't. They're in for a treat!

  • is such a great movie, sooooo weird, my girlfriend said after seeing it like a Lynch's version of NOTLD

  • "Positively no REFUNDS!"

  • What a stupid (=funny) trailer for a great film.

  • Thanks for putting this up. Funnily enough I read about it in an American Airlines magazine and came on here to check it out. And I see some one else has posted the whole movie in sections, so I can watch it now.

  • one of the best ever films! john

  • One of the greatest films ever made

  • This movie was fucking great.

  • Scary shit

  • looks like a great fuckin movie

  • thank you for posting this. i love this film. it is one of my all time favorite horror films; one of my overall favorite films. i love the eerie music. the film contains some of the most beautiful b/w photography of any film ever. what a great title: carnal = the flesh/body. souls = the spiritual.

  • "action you'v never seen" lol

  • thanks
