  • ALWAYS GREAT MAN !

  • I like every song he ever did, i am a bigggggggggg Elvis Aaron Presley fan.

  • good job, love this song, saw him in concert, best concert ive ever seen!

  • Let me simplify. Without the electric guitar there would have been no Chuck Berry. Without Les Paul there wouldn't have been an electric guitar. Rock 'n roll is a combination of country and rhythm & blues. Alan Freed first used the phrase "rock and roll." "Big" Joe Turner first recorded "Shake, Rattle, & Roll" in Feb. 1954. Bill Haley & the Comets recorded it in July of the same year with some very much cleaned up lyrics. As for Elvis, he recorded whatever Colonel Tom Parker told him to.

  • Hello Niochole, Always Awesome to hear this one.Have a great weekend. E xo

  • @EenterE Hey E, always nice to hear from ya'! thanks, have a wonderful weekend too! :)

  • Elvis was dependent on quality songwriters and good backing musicians.

  • @willpn100 Elvis was not dependent on anyone, since he could sing anything he wanted and do so well! In fact, his talent was rarely tapped since others insisted he sing dumb music ("popular stuff"). It was Elvis' remarkable gifts that made backing musicians want to perform well. If Elvis sang a capella, it would have been great and the seats still filled. May God bless his soul.

  • Sure as she bore me, she bought me a silk suit

    Put luggage in my hand

And I woke up high over Alburquerque

On a jet to the promised land.

Working on a T-bone steak a la carte

Flying over to the golden state

Ah when the pilot told us in thirteen minutes

He would set us at the terminal gate.

  • He opened the door for black singers, yeah he did like their music and listened to their black station, believe me black anything was pretty rare in those days, Sam Phillips wanted to get the music out but no one would listen to a black singer so he found Elvis. If you weren't in the south in the 50's I can't really get you to understand. He didn't steal their music he got it out to the 'white' population. Get real, name the black entertainers before Elvis. Al Jolson who painted his face black

  • @veubank Elvis had not the keys to open the door. DJ Alan Freed was responsible for that.

  • Actually at the time Elvis entered the intertainment field, singers did not write their own songs, that came later and they then began having their own publishing companies. He was at the right time when radio, records and TV took off and they took him with them. He replaced Frank Sinatra (whom never wrote a song that I know of) and other singers of that time. The Tenn. girls like Dollie, Loretta, all wrote their own songs and came a long way baby.

  • @HouseofBurgessesLR Before Elvis there was Alan Freed, Bill Haley, Little Richard.....

  • @willpn100: And before Alan Freed and Bill Haley and Little Richard there was Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra; Hoagy Carmichael and Johnny Mercer. So what. I was QUOTING John Lennon...go look it up. Don't like John's quote? Tough.

  • @HouseofBurgessesLR Yeah!. But Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra and the others were not rock and rollers!!!!!

  • @willpn100 Okay one more try. Let me slow it down for you: I w a s q u o t i n g J o h n L e n n o n. If you have such a beef with Elvis and people who like him, quit watching vids of him.

  • @HouseofBurgessesLR Who said that John Lennon is the high priest of rock and roll music? Moreover, I live in a free world and I´ll see many Elvis vids and I´ll give my opinions like it or not! If I´m bothering you, just leave youtube.

  • @willpn100 Circular reasoning sprinkled with a healthy dose of non sequitur.

Bother me? You must be joking. Fini.

  • @HouseofBurgessesLR No comments!

  • j'adore

  • Personally, I like the Grateful Dead's rendition of this song much better.

  • awesame upload nicole, its playlisted, thank you

  • @charlotte946 Thank you! glad you like it!

  • he might of never wrote a song..BUT he had a one and only kind of voice, he was the best!

  • Beautiful song and video.

  • Besides...it's the singer, not the song! Does anybody really connect Blue Suede Shoes with Carl Perkins? Now the haters are asking.."Who's Carl Perkins?" That's the point you nimrods! Elvis didn't have to write it...he sang it, and it became HIS! That's how you become the KING! All you haters just suck on over a billion records sold worldwide!

  • I'm so sick of hearing how Elvis was nothing more than a glorified cover artist and thief. It's true Elvis never wrote a song, but why bother? When you can sell more records across the world than ANYONE ELSE EVER.....how much bigger could Elvis have been had he wrote a song? He couldn't have! He was and is the biggest star EVER....you can't get much bigger than The King! Haters just shut the hell up already...you have NO argument. Gee..I wish I could never write a song and be THE KING!!!!!

  • @ElvisCoversOnly Elvis did not sell records. RCA did.

  • @willpn100 Really? Did RCA sell records with no one singing on them? When you have to be so technical about something, you have no point, or like I said, you have no argument.

  • @ElvisCoversOnly Really? Does Elvis sell records after his death? I´ve never seen a dead man sell records in the record shops. I suggest you the following book: "Rockonomics" - The money behind the music. You´ll see records industry!!!!

  • @willpn100 A dead man selling records in the record shops?? Just move on to the next guy you're going to annoy, because I don't have time to keep responding to pointless remarks.

  • @ElvisCoversOnly That goes for you too!!!!!!

  • @ElvisCoversOnly YES.BEST VOICE EVER.GLAD HE SPENT HIS SHORT LIFE SINGING RATHER THAN SITIN ROUN WRITING

  • @ElvisCoversOnly if Elvis was still alive it'd kick all the haters ass....yes, don't deny it he would!

  • Chuck and Elvis: the twin pillars upon which r'n'r is built.

  • There is never a time when I hear this song that I don't want to just get up and dance . He as I have said many times put the dance in my eleven year old feet the first time I ever heard him. After I heard the first song by him we used our lunch money after that to shove in the juke box just so we could dance on our lunch period instead of eating. It was a wild and crazy time when ELVIS hit the stages. Hugs Bobbie Thanks for the share babe' Hugs Bobbie

  • Thief or not, he was the best entertainer ever!!

  • I have to say this is one of his fastest and greatest songs he did. ELVIS NEVER STOLE ANYONES SONGS. so you the guy that called him a thief get a life. Chuck Berry did the song and did a great job of it but ELVIS absolutly took it through the roof and thanks for the video its FANtastic. Gotta LOVE ELVIS. There wi;; never be another he laid down and gave his life for his fans. and because he LOVED HIS JOB. The people around him were blessed by GOD and didn't have the sense to know it. Hugs Bobbie

  • @1943AngelEyes he never stole, well there sure is a long list of artist and dance move that are simlar to his so called show he was a theif just hard for people to admit

  • @ashleyslaundry a thief who sold more records than anyone else. Not bad for a thief.

  • @melkiemelkie yea he was a good theif, not to many people know what he did and that does make him a good performer

  • @melkiemelkie your untrue remarks come a bit late, dont you think

  • @ashleyslaundry name one black artist who was a hit in the WHITE music industry before elvis's career started in 1956.

without elvis black artists like chuck berry, little richard, ben e king, the platters, wilson pickett, michael jackson and many more would not have gotten there chance.

god even the beatles wouldn't have gotten started because as john lennon said "i never picked up a guitar until i heard elvis".

so don't try and degrade what he gave to popular music.

  • @shankleythebest What about Johny Ray? He opened the doors.

  • @shankleythebest On the other hand, I can name one artist who was hit in the WHITE music industry singing black music and his name is: BILL HALEY (The man that started the rock revolutions). John Lennon said: "I had no idea about doing music as a way of life until rock 'n' roll hit me. What specifically hit me? It was 'Rock Around The Clock'"

  • @shankleythebest Now, with the benefit of half a century of hindsight, music historians are starting to recognize what many musicians - such as John Lennon, Pete Townshend, Graham Nash, Rod Stewart and U2 - have been saying for many years:

Namely that Bill Haley & The Comets were among the principal architects of rock 'n' roll who - as John Lennon wrote: "started it all."

  • A great song by Elvis. If you r looking for yet another good cover a band called WASP did a cover of this song as well. Definitely a bit faster paced but if you listen at the end Blackie pays tribute to Elvis (Blackie always called Elvis one of his influences) I thought it was pretty good and yet another good cover of the chuck Berry original

  • Did you know that Blackie Lawless was Johnny Thunders replacement in the NY dolls?

check out the chuck berry original

  • he does a great job. have you heard the band do it? it's on moondog matinee and is way cool.

  • Love it!

  • You produced one of the best Promised Land" video's in my opinion. Happy I found it! I'll bet Elvis would be pleased.

  • Thank you so much for your kind comment! so glad you liked my video!

  • Yes I love Elvis IT is a great song Being that It was Chuck Berry's First SO yea lest all Thank the Thief Kiss to the King lol ?

  • Chuck Berry did this song in 1964, Elvis covers it in 1973, (1975 release) gives Chuck full writers credit on the album and your calling him a thief? For covering a Rock Standard 10 years later? Are you serious? Give me a break.

  • @madman8852 ...not to mention that if there is any thievery going on it is the fact that Chuck Berry took Roy Acuff's "Wabash Cannonball" and wrote new words to it! How is that for irony!

  • Yea I love Elvis that is a great song being that it was Chuck Berry's First but once again Great lets all thank the thief lol yes thank the King .

  • Awsome song...but the W.A.S.P. cover of this song ROCKS LIKE A SON OF A BITCH!!!

  • YEAH!!! W.A.S.P. version is absolutely great!!!!

  • I know! It is amazing!!!

Elvis is covering this too you know, the original was Chuck Berry.

  • Elvis died when i was six and to this day I NEVER thought or have heard he "liked" little boys. He was flawed but not weird. I still like hearing his songs.

  • I think you're referring to Michael Jackson, those stupid rumors were about him and not about Elvis Presley, but either way those are only rumors, nothing true!

  • @nicole7672007 not even Michael Jackson "Liked" kids that way...he was acting like that cuz of his childhood. 2 bad all the stars of music fallen to drugs....

  • Looooove it! :)

  • Thank you!

  • and they can say michael jackson is better then the KING? u got to be fucking kidding me..no way in hell..the king rules..

  • some ppl say elvis's version is better, i think both of em are good in their own way

  • love chuck berry for writin this song, but elvis version is just better^^

  • comment removed...don't like it, don't watch it! it's not rocket science!

  • Love this one Nicole!5**********......blu.

  • Thank you so much!!!

  • He did not steal the song! he simply did a cover of this great song and people liked it...he is not called "the greatest" based on this particular song! know your facts!

  • @nicole7672007 all of elvis songs seem to be cover, know why dont the writers get paid if its a cover o yea theif

  • @ashleyslaundry Nice spelling. Go back to school and quit mucking up these Elvis videos.

  • obviously you have a real talent for picking on people you don't know and you have no respect for the legacy Elvis Presley left behind him..i am not going to lower to your level (which i do have to admit is lowest of the low) so i am not going to get in a fight with you...and of course if i leave your comment on this page a lot of fans will get angry so i am going to delete your stupid comment and your "wishes" about Elvis...please do not come back to my page, you are not welcome "lemonsongthe"

  • Thank you Eric!!

  • I Love Elvis...don't have an Elvis shrine though.......but anyway...i think I like him in the 1970's as he does so much fast paced Rock and Roll stuff and also has the most "soul" in songs like "In the Ghetto". He was certainly at his peak at this time. Too bad he "died" shortly afterwards.

  • Wow!! That was great...thank you so much!!!!!!!!

  • just brilliant, just loved it, the song shows Elvis's vocal range, one hard song to sing!! and the photo's and film footage, well it was wonderful to watch, no wonder Elvis is called the King, he was the ultimate best of ALL KINDS of music. just love him x

  • thank you very much!! glad you enjoyed it!!!

  • There are nothing bad to say about the king and his voice was as good as it can be the same goes for his performance ability but the only thing that make me a bit dissipointed is that he did a lot of covers just like the modern artist do knowdays. I don't say it is a bad thing he do them very well cause he does most thing well I mean he is the king and all

  • Sex, drugs, rock and roll. Dead at 42. He lived the lives of 100 men.

  • Hmmm interesting comment...

  • Only the great die young..

  • This is one of my favorite songs. This is such a very difficult song to sing well and Elvis sang it perfectly. It definitely should have been a smash hit for Elvis without a shadow of a doubt. Elvis will always be the greatest singer, entertainer and icon. Elvis will also always have the greatest voice. Elvis would be extremely proud of you. All of the footage and photographs seen in this video totally rocked in every way. Thanks a lot for making and uploading that very exquisite video, 5 Stars.

  • thank you so very much! and thank you for all your beautiful comments!

  • OK i will...thank you!

  • "Houston town" does in fact adore Elvis Presley, since before he was famous, and after, and always will. Like Elvis sings in "Promised Land" song on your video: we "won't let the poor boy down," never.

    Thank you, Sis

  • thank YOU!!

  • Thank you Nicole! This is the best comp. video I've seen for one of my favorite songs and from the King. I want some of the still shots you have, how do I find those, some of 'em I really want to print and frame? Thank You so much this video rocks!

  • thank you so much for your beautiful comment!!! give me a private message with your email or an address and i will send them to you i have thousand of pictures!

  • nicole7672007,

Now, we may all request this of you. :-)

    Love, Sis

  • What Promised Land? Maybe one too many chaddonay? curse me out, I don't give a darn!!!!! It's SaturDAY night!!!!

  • I could just agree with all great comments about Elvis Presley and your super video of photos and live slips; but, that would not be me. Although the story of "Promised Land" is sad, all bad was turned into good and nobody could sing victory over evil better than our Elvis Presley. One word? Unlikely. Elvis, and you, deserve more than that. I appreciate you, and "dig" your Channel background. Bold, daring, shameful, but OMG-EP "eyecandy."

    Thank you, Sister Tee

  • elvis is best singer and this a good song yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
