  • Batman, on the other hand, looks cooler in his cape for the following reasons:

He is almost a bad guy, but is always a good guy.

    His cape actually does something.

    He does not posses magic.

He was way cooler when he watched his mother die.

Joel Shumacker apologized for making a flop.

  • Another reason why Disney and WB are better than Star Wars: THEY ACTUALLY HAVE ARMOR THAT ACTUALLY WORKS!

At least Disney's noble ally, Iron Man does.

  • I imagined a fan fiction version of this with absolutely nothing subtracted but updated with the best anti-ACME magic defense.

  • Could a glass dome big enough to cover an area that big even be created using current technology? Unless it's actually a metal frame with glass panels embedded in it, which sounds more doable. Even still, I wouldn't want to be under that thing when a giant chunk of glass comes crashing down.

  • I intend on building this.

  • when was this video recorded?

  • I bet Dubailand took lots of inspiration from the original EPCOT concept, with different little cities inside.

  • Indeed even Alfred Hitchock worked several times with Disney for SFX on his movies, Disney´s Ub Iwerks and Disney specialists were hired by Hitchcock for SFX for The Birds. Walt Disney was a genius and his EPCOT concept originally was to create a new kind of society far better than the one we have now. And he wanted to achieve it with love and ideas and not with war or power.

  • This actually makes me want to write two scripts, one for Walt Disney and the other for Warner Brothers, which would be a pun because they would be based on true stories of such people. This is the joke that I commonly play at nowadays, that Disney/WB are who you think George Lucas and Star Wars are.

If you think about it and start making comparisons outside of the obvious, like what WB franchises are coincidentally connected to Tron, you would realize how dominant are those "cartoon" companies.

  • @SirGabriel2076 That is what my Downfall parodies are about.

  • Capitalism is not the problem. Only those who do not understand it say that. How do you think a wonder like Disneyland was ever built? It is because a visionary knew how to use the system to build a dream. Something sadly lacking in Walt's predecessors. Capitalists are the ones that gained from sponsorship at Disneyland. Whether it be GE's "Carousel of Progress", Lincoln Savings "Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln", or Dote's "Enchanted Tiki Room". The Free Market could make EPCOT happen.

  • @rschneblin In addition, Both Disney and WB are today's compass. Nearly every single joke I posted on the internet, including an Assassin's Creed walkthrough, are about that sort of thing.

  • Did I see a black person? No, no I did not.

  • What is the real name of the video? (I am using is a a bibliographical reference) and I need the real name and the name of the director, plus the year of release of the video

    Thank youuuuuuu

  • The Venus Project sent me here :P

  • I SAW THE THING AT 3:09 LAST MONTH AT DISNEY!

  • @HOAWikia - Carousel of Progress, perhaps? ;)

  • And another thing, to all the people who call Walt a Nazi or a Jew hater, lay off, please! Yes, Walt was anti Semitic but he had Jewish friends. And his daughter dated a Jewish boy, and Walt was glad for his daughter. He was also a member of an Anti Communist group. But like a bunch of morons say that he was a Nazi. He Wasn't!! Why would he make all those propaganda films during WWII.

  • @96gamerdude your totally right, also you have to think that back in those days there was still alot of mixed emotions in regards to WWII, and also it was a different time, people could say nigga, call someone black, and be racist towards others...there was no such thing a being politically correct....well actually the term wasnt abused the way it is today

  • Walt Disney was a genius and an innovator. His vision and imagination to create EPCOT, was one of the greatest ideas ever. If he lived for another 20 or so years, it might have happened and Disney World would be even more magical than it is now.

  • Walt created a great product and a great destination. Unfortunately, since his departure the brand has gone down, down down. It is still a great destination but not like what it once was, and I fear (believe) it will become truly average in the next 10-15 years, so much so that my kids' kids (yet to be) will not care to even visit.

  • Why is everyone arguing wether or not Walt was a communist and a nazi, instead of remembering what a genius this man was and how he's changed not only the entertainment industry but thousands if not millions of lives

  • I'm not here to argue or anything but, Walt to me is a genius, who worked like an adult but had the imagination of a kid, he knew what a family needed, but I don't think he knew how much it was going to cost.

  • People, Walt was neither communist or a Nazi, he was far right, sure, but he was for the equal rights of all. Like ProjectFlashlight612 said, why would he hire the Sherman Brothers? People like to make up crap about this hard working, dream inspiring man. And why? Because it's really very hard to find any actual dirt on him.

  • Walt Disney was a Communist?!! That's the stupidest bloody thing I've ever heard. not only did Disney rat on everyone even slightly left-wing during the McCarthy witch hunts, he was a card-carrying member of the Nazi front group the German-American Bund in the late 30s. He hated Jews, unionists and blacks in that order. Walt Disney, Communist...laughable.

  • @ProjectFlashlight612 If he hated Jews, why did he hire the Sherman Brothers to write songs? He also said himself that he was never anti-labor in his life. Tape exists. He was only critical of them (and frankly so am I). And if he hated blacks, how do you explain his decision in teaching TV audiences about the various African cultures through his 50s Disneyland show?

It's easy to blame someone in hindsight today for doing things before the wonderful invention of Political Correctness.

  • @stokepogue Why did he hire the Shermans? Because they were useful. You will find most anti-Semites make exceptions for 'good' (useful) Jews. The tape you cite aside, his anti-union crimes during the 40s are indisputable, as is his membership of a Nazi front group prior to Dec. 1941. He also stole credit from the true creators he hired, and paid them abysmal wages. The Disneyland TV series is now notorious for outright fabrications, staged events, and race-insulting 'synthetic ethnicity'.

  • @ProjectFlashlight612 Sounds like you've been reading Marc Eliot's biography (or someone who cribs from it). However it's been thoroughly discredited. Reputable biographers and Disney experts such as Michael Barrier (who could hardly be considered an uncritical hagiographer) have dismissed the supposed anti-Semitism; it's an urban myth (like his being frozen when he died). As to "anti-union crimes:" yep, he had labor troubles. And yep, he was socially conservative. Who would have thought!

  • lol keep taping 3 on your keyboard

  • Heres something to chew on, walt disney was one of the founding members of that group to get communism out of Hollywood. Him and Ronald Regen, a close freind. So he isnt a communist supporter at all.

  • 0:20 I miss classic Mickey.

  • Thank Gawd for Walt Disney..What could we do without dreams?

  • Comment removed

  • This looked great, now all these new corporate executives are killing walt's vision with all their new crap.

  • Yeah i know but the place its still magical i love all 4 parks !

  • Well Glitchysoftware,

You are right in a way. That is why Walt Disney Himself said that Everything that was shown in That Planning room that he was in at the time would change Time and Time Again as they moved ahead.

Walt was probably thinking WAY BEYOND HIS TIME when He made That Statement .

At least I feel good with That Peace of Mind as A Childhood Disney Fan.

I just wish that I could live Closer To The Disney Parks.

    ~ Dwight

  • 5:01, that's the first time I've seen 'Disney World' written out in the Disneyland font.

  • The Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow (EPCOT)

  • i think it's city, not community

  • Hello alaine93 !,

Walt Disney DID call it " Experimental Prototype Community Of Tomorrow " . So It's COMMUNITY.

Walt Intended Epcot to be An ACTUAL CITY with A Global Community that is a Prototype of What OUR OWN Cities would look like with The Technology, and Everything that would serve and Power US ALL In The Future that would be already available there at EPCOT before it becomes available in OUR OWN CITIES.

    ~ Dwight

  • It's Walts own fault he died so young because he smoked too much.

  • Hey bradhig !,

First of all, OK, But at Least Walt Gave Us Much and Did Much while He was On This Earth .

Secondly, Walt Died at 65, So Please Chill Out with that " Walt Died So Young " Comment .

    ~ Dwight

  • well, 65 is quite young for today's standards. if only he had stopped smoking...

Off-topic: disney parks should ban smoking in all public areas (with the exception of the special smoking designated places) in his memory.

you still see (and smell) people smoking in queues at disneyland paris. smoking is not a "family friendly" activity

this is such a cool video!

  • Ok divacat80,

I can understand where you are coming from in a way. As far as you being

" Off-topic " about Why You think Disney Parks should ban smoking in all public areas, YOU ARE NOT OFF TOPIC.

Really This is The reason why I just cannot do smoking . It is just not safe for me. I guess that Unfortunatly, People who Smoke in queues at Disneyland Paris are going to end up learning a hard lesson about the deadly effects of smoking, that It can lead you to an

    early grave.

    ~ Dwight

  • They have done just that at Disney World in Orlando.

There is no smoking other than small designated areas.

  • @rmmarti2

    i hate florida

  • @dennisrayso Thanks for sharing.....

  • @rmmarti2

    thank you 4 thanking me

    i also hate rednecks there

  • @dennisrayso Its good to see 9 year olds use youtube.

  • Realityland, is a good book on the subject of the early history of Walt Disney World.

  • I would love to see an almost full scale model of the village we see in Disney's animated feature Pinocchio (1940).

  • Walt Disney died two months after he did this video.

  • Walt's projects were NEVER about money. He was always scraping the bottom of the barrel, the corporate sponsors came from desperation from Walt's LACK of money.

Sorry capitalists just aren't that important. There are better motivations in life than money. If you have people who are really excited about a project they will donate time and effort and cut your costs by 90%. Capitalists on the other hand will raise your costs as much as they can, then do as poor a job as they can get away with.

  • @zz811

Your fantasy of collectivism is what was espoused by Marx, Lenin and Stalin. The society that arose from their ambitions resulted in more deaths by mass murder than Hitler's holocaust. Of course, ignoring the reality of collectivism is a craft perfected by the mentally ill for generations.

  • @Bondianwolf

You knowledge of Marx, Lenin and Stalin is truly staggering.

  • @zz811 All that Walt Disney has done has been able to become a reality because of Capitalism. If you truly think that all capitalists are in it for money, then you sir, are an idiot. You're trying to make Capitalism seem idiotic and cold hearted, while all other ways (say, maybe communism) have lead whole nations into chaos or created mass murders. Capitalism isn't about making money as an incentive, it is to make sure that only those who are worthy will make is out successful.

  • @438bloody

Wow, "all other ways" lead to mass murder? Is our only choice between capitalism and communism, is there nothing better humanity can come up with?

If you really think the rich in America are there because they are "worthy", you are a fool.

  • @whateverwhocares2 Ok then, so if you're so against Capitalism AND communism, then come up with something better. Seriously, don't say something like that unless you have some other ideas. Also, name one other form of government that works and hasn't lead into some kind of a mass chaos. Hell, who knows capitalism could lead to that as well. While I admit, it was foolish of me to say only those who are worthy make is out (CONT.)

  • @whateverwhocares2 successful, still the fact is, is that Capitalism rewards those who work and try their hardest, maybe not ALL the time, but in all honesty, up to this point, we have yet to have come up with a single better idea. We are not entitled to becoming wealthy, we must work and struggle to become wealthy is what I'm trying to say. Capitalism at this point is the one thing that shows that the most.

  • @zz811 I agree to an extent but Walt Disney was not a communist or supported it in any way. That is not the answer.

  • Comment removed

  • @horrorjunkie92 I never said anything about communism, I just said that capitalism has flaws. Communism is even worse. There are other forms of government out there people.

  • @zz811 well said.

  • @zz811 - and yet without those evil capitalists *rolls eyes* you'd never see any of this stuff built.

You're naive if you think otherwise....not to mention just outright stupid.

Oh, how are those nice GAP t-shirts, levi's jeans and trendy iphones doing for you? People like you are fucking hypocrites.

  • @zz811 The reason why I am now a Disney fan instead of a Star Wars fan. Disney had some really awesome effects like making leprechauns small. The company lived on to this very day and improved special effects even further with Pixar, both Tron films, and Pirates of the Caribbean. The Warner brothers, on the other hand, I believe, were geniuses too. The company, too, made big bucks on spectacular special effects. You could probably guess at least one movie that was known for that.

  • @SirGabriel2076 In addition, not only were the two studios were BETTER at the special effects business, but the said films were also DECENT films with POSITIVE reviews, much better than that frog in that Plinkett-pwned prequel!

  • Coward capitalists sacrificed this dream for dollars.

  • This is why the world needs BRAVE capitalists who can think longterm.

  • But the project is not about money. It's just about making the world a better place, which could never survive in a capitalist system. The stock must beat the dow = it's not enough to win, others must lose.

  • All of Disney's projects were about money. You don't become wealthy enough to build your own private city unless you are thinking about money. Even right there in the video it says that the city "will be specially designed to suit the needs and interests of major corporations."

You are right though, the project was, primarily about making the world a better place, but making the world a better place is not free or cheap. That is why capitalists are so vitally important to improving the world.

  • well, you've got to be practical

besides, can you think of a reason why Walt Disney didn't deserve to indulge a bit into the American dream? He worked his ass off since he was a kid, chased his dreams in earl Hollywood, confronted setbacks at every turn, and in the process changed the face of entertainment forever.

considering he was a poor kid from the Midwest at one time, it seems like a happy turn of events that he had his own Cinderella story of sorts.

  • thats true they took walts dream and made it a moneymaking operation

  • its only changed in good ways

  • thats not true its gone almost completely down hill

  • Wonderful!!! I love the video so MUCH!!!
