She's not that unique. She plays the piano like Fionna Apple and writes like Tori Amos and vibrates her voice like Lily Allen. This is a rip off of those sounds. She's like a cover band.

@johnnyatab Nobody's unique...everyone you just listed got their style from somebody else. Lily allen and Regina spektor are pretty much making the same type of music, and I've heard hundreds of piano songs like that. As for the writing, many of other singers write the same way. So if you really want to open up that can of worms, no one is unique. Regardless of what anyone says. All that matters is that you like the music.

You said regina spektor isn't original-well, lily allen isn't either. No artist is. So before you go off and try to say something negative about a musician, please think about what you're writing. @johnnyatab Regina went the Manhattan Music School to study classical piano. She has fantastic piano skill. Fionna is good, but not like Regina. Tori Amos is a good writer, but Regina's lyrics use many more literary allusions, to mythology, famous novels, poetry. Amos is metaphorical but her lyrics remain in that box. Lily Allen did NOT come before Regina. Lily surfaced around 2004-2005, while Regina was recording demos in the late '90s. Lily also uses her voice in a completely different way-

@johnnyatab Regina plays with the notes on a different level than Lily. She makes noises and creates sounds to substitute instruments, while Lily just sings. Regina is indeed unique, I feel that all musical artists are. But you obviously share no love towards Regina, so please do all her fans a favor, and stop commenting on her videos.
