some of you need to read a book by putting H2O2 into H2O the end result is higher levels of Oxygen into the water and all the levels will very due to PH & temp, waste, volume, filtration ...ect...ect. As for the gas bubbles forming is where i need to do more reading. My guess would be the high oxidation levels of the H2O2 on what i would guess to be a thin cell wall. The fish are breathing better with the elevated levels of oxygen. do some hands on stuff and everyone think!
I used 35% food grade H202 in my koi pond (about 1200 gallons). I put in about 4 oz a day every other day for about a week. From murky to crystal clear in about two week's time. And, yes, all the koi and the various goldfish (about 15 in all) are OK
You could sit down and do the math, but you also have to take into consideration all the other compounds that it could react with inside the environment.
So possibly you could be creating harmful compounds, but from reading up it doesnt seem like there are any apparent effects of it on the fish so guess thats good lol
Ahh, your fish health is deteriorating, algae's dying just becaause of the strong oxidising effect of hydrogen peroxide. You can try the effect by gargling hydrogen peroxide solution in your mouth.

ummm when sun light hits algae, seaweed etc..... it creates oxygen dip shit, oxygen bubbles will emerge and float to the surface......

and what does the Hydrogen Peroxide do to the fish?

likely irritate their gills a bit. It will oxidise soft tissue.

well since H2O2 is converted into O2 and H2O, unless it is used in excess it shouldn't do any harm to the fish

You're sure it's not converted into O2 and H2?

I am a big fan of H2O2 as an algae killer. It helped me get rid of the nasty BBA algae in my tank. I wonder if it works for GSA and diatoms...

hi.what size aquarium do you have and what amount of peroxide did you use to get rid of the algea? does it have any effect on the fish?

oh, we did something like this in biology class, we put it on a potato at diffrent tempratures and it bubbled more on the colder ones

H2O2 killed the algae, not grow it. :)

How much H2O2 did you add to et the algae to grow so tall?
