I find it funny that right after Joker says "A cup of nice fresh water should fix that." A sign shows up that says "Gotham City Nice Fresh Water". Classic gag. lol
By the way, isn't that interesting that Alfred and Joker share the same surname? I mean, Alfred was played by Alan Napier and the Joker's real name in most of his appearances is Jack NAPIER. Talk about a coincidence.
Oh, and at 5:47, Aunt Harriet called Alfred "young Man"!
Thanks. When it comes to the Joker, I'm fully aware that the character gets constantly reinvented and, to be honest, that kinda sucks. With all the reboots, it gets hard to tell what's canon and what's not.
Still, that doesn't make the Napier coincidence any less amusing.
@JohnnyTheWolf Tim Burton chose the name Napier for the Jack Napier/Joker character in tribute to Alan Napier who died a year before Burton's Batman film came out.
Anyone notice that everyone keeps referring to Wayne Manor as "Stately" Wayne Manor? They treat it like the adjective, "stately" is part of its actual name.
Well I understand that. But imagine if people did that in real life!
Actually, that would be pretty cool. I would like people to refer to my pad using a descriptive adjective as part of the name (even if they could call it is, "Shitty Tampa Apartment").
I like how they gave Alfred a good part... he's a good character, one of my favorites

you that the Jokers Real name is supposedly Jack Napier? Kinda Ironic that the actor who plays alfred is named Alan Napier
SirenNecko1 8 months ago

The Joker is one of the few villains that fight back....what other villains participate in fights?
msk7046 9 months ago
@msk7046 In this show, the three main villians [the Joker, the Penguin and the Riddler] all have fought back before.

I see Alfred makes the same mistake the bad-guys do... walk off and assume they'll be fine.
Additionally - why, exactly, does the batmobile have spare gas? Its nuclear powered.
Vixen018 2 years ago 2
No it's not. It's military-grade rocket fuel derived from gasoline.

What were those pills for, anyway?

That's only in the first Burton film. Everywhere else the Joker has no name.
lastofthedaves 3 years ago
Wrong. They also used the name in Batman TAS.

I forgot about the trial episode. I keep going back to all these creators saying how Joker is an unknown enigma. Good catch though.

@lastofthedaves In the animated episodes, the name Jack Napier was used for the Joker as well.

They caused everyone who drank the water with those pills to be susceptible to the Joker's "magic box".

That's part of the charm. They call Robin "Boy Wonder" too and sometimes describe dick as Bruce's "youthful ward"
