  • there black u'll see nothing but chickens on the lawn

  • @lastseam2

Bigotry is the least appealing characteristic one can have.

  • This video is a joke! Do you really think Obummer cares about you and me? He's a goddamned socialist. He wants to own you. They're working on a bill now that will prevent you from growing your own vegetables! He wants everyone to depend on the government for everything, then he can dictate. Wake up America, this man (Obummer) is a fraud. He hasn't told a truth since he started campaigning for president. The bastards (long legged mac daddy Obummer) trying to destroy America!! Wake up!! Wake up!!!

  • obama and michelle playing good cop/bad cop? Michelle is promoting organic movement while white house trying to ban organic farming? Wake up people....at the end of the day...you dont know what you're eating

  • I'm so looking forward to growing food on our lawn when we buy our own home!

  • permaculture all the way...

    otherwise it's still not sustainable

  • Obama is a total fraud

He eats tons of Animal Products and fast food , he has NO interest in Health

  • @ACEBAKER911 Animal products are the best products......

  • great video ! d.i.y.

  • great video!

  • Nice video. Is that dolomite lime (white powder)? If it is, did you test the soil's acidity before adding it or is it a fact that lawns need to be limed before transformed for gardening?

  • Congratulations on a job well done! You should be proud of yourself. Now, if every family plants a few rows (or boxes, if in an apt) and donates 1 row, just imagine....

  • Great little video! All the instructions you need, works for all languages.

Congrats on getting the Obama's going. I'm so psyched!! Expanded my garden last year because of this inspirational clip, and learned how to dry veggies for winter use. Garden doubling this year again!!

  • good job!

  • Fabulous!!!

Roger, your spirit and stamina is wonderful. See how you got a great idea and just lifted it with great communication skills right on out to the People and your idea inspired more and more and caught fire in the moinds of People. You proved what one great idea +determination + inspiration can do to change the world in a better direction. Thank you.

  • great job! congratulations. if the us grows 40% of its own vegetables, i will stp travelling to cuba to learn from their experience!

  • ten out of ten video ..great Job

  • Yes You Can!!!!

  • You did it, man! Michelle Obama is planting a kitchen garden on the South Lawn TODAY!! Congrats. :)

  • Yes you DID!

    Congratulations!!!

  • The Obama Family is breaking ground tomorrow (March 20th) for a veggie garden at the White House.

  • U pay taxes to maintain the W Hse as it is, i

  • We have 5 huge organic/heirloom gardens

    46 trees in our orchard

    goats/chickens & rabbits for fertalizer

C'mon my fellow Americans--we "CAN" feed ourselves and each other

Thank you Eleanor R. for all the wild flowers in all of our highway ditches

  • Good on you, however it was Lady Bird Johnson that started and pushed for beautifying the Nation's highways. The wild flowers along the roads in Texas are awesome.

And I'll bet your place is too.

  • great!!!

  • No one's suggesting it..yet. Yes, Wilson grazed sheep on the lawn, Grant kept horses in the white house stable and Abigail Adams hung her laundry to dry in the East Room. Such things befit the times. I'm not shocked at all by the thought of a WH kitchen garden. I wouldn't even be upset if they did it, especially if the children where involved. I understand the symbolism involved but I still disagree as a matter of aesthetics and I oppose a large garden on the lawn as called for on the video.

  • Use some imagination. It needn't be on the front, the ceremonial lawn. The White House occupies 18 acres. They want a garden, not a farm.

And what more than a veggie garden befits our times?

  • The presidential mansion is more than a residence. It is also where the great decisions of the day are made, where dignitaries and leaders are feted, where sweeping legislation is signed into law, etc. It SHOULD be stately and reflect the dignity of the nation and the presidency. Rows and rows of vegetables and manure fertilizers do not fit the setting. I'm a NOFA certified organic lawncare expert, and, while I support the cause, the White House is not the place for an organic vegetable garden.

  • timaloha -

Sorry, but I gotta disagree with you! ANY place is a "respectable" place for an organic vegetable garden... especially the "peoples' lawn!"

A Garden, like a musical concert (which the White House sponsors constantly) can bring people from across the world together - it is a point of reference to which everyone can relate.

  • I understand and respect your passion. But I didn't use the word "respectable." I used the word "dignity." Some places are inherently dignified...and should be. The grounds of the White House are one example. The rows upon rows of crosses in Arlington National Cemetary are another. They would make fine stakes for organically grown tomatoes, but I don't think they belong there.

  • No one is suggesting tomatoes for Arlington National Cemetary.

BTW, one President grazed sheep on the White House lawn ("green" lawn maintenance?) I'm sure that many would be as shocked as you apparently are at the suggestion of a White House kitchen garden ~ but let's face it, the "stuffy tea-tipplers" have left the White House, and those two little girls who have moved in could learn some valuable lessons in a garden, (IMHO).

  • I've planted mine! This is Fabulous!

  • Where/how do we go to sign the petition? I love this video. What a great idea. It sure would be wonderful if there were an upsurgence of support for community gardens. I live in a rental with no place to have a garden (it's even too shaded for my tomatoes in pots).

  • We've had a small organic garden for years and this year we're planing on expanding.

Everyone who has a bit of land should have a garden, including President Obama.

  • BRILLIANT Idea, Roger!

As a suburban "community" gardener who has kept organic plots for many years, I am proud to have just signed your petition to the President!

What a wonderful vision ~ beautifully executed, in video and campaign!

(I have also rated and favorited your vid!)

In these most uncertain of times, I wholeheartedly agree with you -

    "Yes, We Can"

    and, more importantly,

    "Yes, We SHOULD!"

  • Awesome vid! Thanks! I've started my garden!

  • Si se pueda grow food!
