  • The First Presidency of the Church has announced a public open house beginning Saturday, 7 August 2010, and continuing through Saturday, 21 August 2010, excluding Sundays. Public tours are available on Mondays from 8:00 to 17:00, and Tuesdays through Saturdays from 8:00 to 20:00.

  • Other Church leaders in attendance included Elder Russell M. Nelson, of the Quorum of Twelve Apostles, Elder William R. Walker, Executive Director of the Church’s Temple Department, Elder Steven E. Snow, of the Presidency of the Seventy and Elder Allan F. Packer, of the First Quorum of Seventy. Sister Packer also spoke at the service.

  • Volunteers index 100 million records already this year

  • The float was decorated with musical notes, wooded dolls representing different cultures and signs containing the languages common in the stake — English, Spanish, Karen and Nepali.

As the children moved along the parade route in matching white T-shirts, they used American sign language to communicate the words to some songs. Signing the words is something they can all do together, said Sister Wagstaff.

  • Seated near Elder Jensen was Frederick N. Larsen, president and prophet of the Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

"It's a group that has special meaning for me in terms of the individuals involved and the institutions from which they come," said William P. MacKinnon, president-elect of the association, in introducing those seated at the head table.

  • two min into this vid i knew you were going to be specific about any of the info on the bible video or to make any other arguments

  • You are watching one clip of an entire video. This clip is called "opinions of the experts", that is all it is, their opinions. If you would like to hear more specific rebuttals, you'll have to watch the entire video, which is only a supplement to already published rebuttals by Brant Gardner and David Bokovoy.

  • Man, Joseph Smith for not having any education and not even being able to write a good letter really did a great job writing the Book of Mormon. I mean he must have been sitting in Liberty Jail in the dead of winter thinking "all according to my plan" HAHA yeah right! Wouldn't he have quite a long time ago if he was parading a book he wrote or if he knew it wasn't real. Why give your life for a work of fiction. Joseph Smith was a prophet and the Book of Mormon is true.

  • Read the book of mormon with a sincere heart?? It teaches in the bible that mans heart is corrupt and wicked who can be trusted?..Turn back to the christ of the bible!Mormons are beleiving fairy tales! In due respect paul worns us of those that bring another gospel another meassage that tells of another christ and to reject it.The bible is the final and literal word of god.If blind people continue to lead blind people you all will fall into a ditch.

  • okay, the first guy talking says that archeaology hasnt proven the bible to be true. UM,... He must not have graduated elementary school to realize he is wrong!!! Several artifacts have been discovered to support the bible, unlike the book of moron, i mean moron, i mean mormon, i mean moron.

  • La Verdad duele chicos!

  • I've also found that my non-LDS friends when talking about religion will cite Paul and his teachings and totally ignore the teachings of Jesus. It is clear in the New Testament that His grace is sufficient but only after all we can do. How can the teachings of James (see chapter 2) possibly be explained away? Thank goodness for the Book of Mormon and the testament it is to the Bible. I just wish people would read it as Moroni explains, with real intent, a sincere heart, having faith in Christ.

  • What does it matter if someone quotes Paul and not Jesus? Paul GOT his teachings from teachings...and you're mistaken...there is NOTHING we can do to earn God's grace...we are born sinners, nothing we try so hard to do, will change the fact that we are sinners. ONLY FAITH in Christ as GOD alone can save us from sin and hell. The Bible should be the only book read- that alone is God's word.

  • So what of the teachings of Jesus? In his parables he clearly states that when given a talent it must be added upon.He also teaches in Matthew 25:34-46 the difference between the righteous(the benevolent)and those who simply do nothing."And these shall go away into everlasting punishment:but the righteous into life eternal."

You also say we are born sinners. What is the status of Gods children who are born, live and die, without ever receiving the opportunity to know Jesus, let alone accept him?

  • Jesus said in John 14:6 "I am the way the truth and the life and no man comes to the Father except through Me."

Jesus said in John 3:3 "Unless a man be born again he can't see the kingdom of God"

Jesus said in John 4:24 "God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth"

Would you like more things from Jesus?

  • I agree 100% with your response. I also know that Jesus Christ must be accepted as Redeemer and Savior. My question to you is, What will happen to God's children who come to this earth and while living here never have the opportunity to accept Jesus based on circumstances beyond their control?

  • Well Latter Day Saints beilve that there is alot of missinary work going on in heaven. so everyone can hear the truth of the lord and jesus christ. and decide for themselves if it is true or not

  • this is the worst rebuttal you can even think of. heres something from the old testament; Proverbs 30:6 Do not add to his words or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar.

  • You have a very small bible then, since there are 19 books in the Old Testament after the Book of Proverbs and the entire New Testament of 27 books (KJV). I think Proverbs 30:6 is trying to adding your own spin to or rejecting the words of the Prophets of God. (The Scriptures)

  • ha ha good response! You are funny! I totally agree

  • I have to agree...this wasn't even a 'rebuttal'...a proper rebuttal is presented when they bring forth evidence for their case/argument...all they did was critique the video....they did not defend their own arguments. SHOW me how the 'anti-mormon' video was wrong, don't just infer that it was with basis of an argument...

  • Worst rebuttal ever.

  • You have to expect FAIR or FARMS to respond in this manner. But here's the issue:

Both Dan Peterson and the other gentlemen in this video are generalizing the Bible vs. BoM video. But they don't give any specific examples of where the video is in error and specific arguments against them.

You can summarize this response by saying "They're wrong, they're anti-mormon and they don't know what they're talking about". That's a problem b/c again, this video isn't addressing specific claims.

  • As it has been posted many times before, this is only their opinions on the video. This is only a portion of what the video is, and they do address a few things. If you want a full rebuttal, go to the FAIR website fairlds dot org, and on the left hand side of the page, click on the link. If we were to make a video discussing the problems with the anti-Mormon video, the video would be 10 hours long

  • I'm sorry was I not clear enough for you? ALONG SIDE ALL THE FACTs...you can read the BOM time and time again recieve witness of the Holy Ghost. I can understand that it could be hard for someone without faith to understand that...

  • For more videos go to FAIRs channel at youtube dot com/user/fairldsorg

  • I understand you want to defend your faith but when you disregard common sense, I can't respect you.

  • The beauty along side the many evidences of the Book of Mormon is that you can read it and gain a testimony time and time again through the Holy Ghost that it is true.

  • fairlds people! i am your fan! kudos! destroy The Living Hope Ministries! because they would just kill you and it will not give hope to anyone! expose them!

  • I am glad somebody finally said it! The Living Hope Ministries People have twisted things for far too long.

    Bring more videos!

  • Just like a MORMON!! The BIBLE IS TURE and the BOOK OF MORMON IS FALSE!!!

MORMONS LIE! LIE! LIE! LIE! LIE! LIE!

The Video The Bible vs The Book Of Mormon IS TRUE AND ON THE NOSE!!!!! MORMONS ARE LIERS!!!

  • breath lady, breath. actully the people in this video are correct. sorry. will you be ok?

  • they may not have provided the evidence they claim to have , HOWEVER, the original video was nothing more than christian apologetics and there was no unbiased real evidence provided in the "bible vs. the book of mormon" video.

its hard to find evidence of legend and myth.

remember- there is contemporaneous evidence of jesus's existence.

  • ..contemporaneous evidence huh? Is there of Moses and him dividing the red sea? Hmm..curious. No horse bones have been found where the Huns existed, so do you disbelieve? The BofM and how it came about is evidence enough. I have a challenge for you: write over a 500 page book with new names, places, etc with profound christian doctrine that relates with the Bible and helps to converts hundreds of thousands a year. Oh wait and you have to be 21, do it in 3 months, and have a 3rd education:)

  • Are you speaking about the "Book of Mormon Challenge"?

I was under the impression that this had been abandoned a long time ago. Actually, one of my Mormon friends confirmed this. Even so, this was only applicable to Mormon missionaries during their mission, was it not?

This isn't meant to disprove or harmfully criticize your response in any way. I am genuinely curious.

  • The the "Book of Mormon Challenge" is alive and well. It is the reason why so many convert to the Church. All recieve the same witness through the spirit. I'm sorry but unfortunately misinformation comes from members themselves at times. I was a missionary 2 years ago and now ward mission leader in my ward.

  • Hey I can answer that! No, the Book of Mormon Challenge goes for everyone that reads with a sincere heart. It is a proimse. Does that answer your question?

  • Great video. I don't like how people just accept "facts" that aren't proven or have any reasonable credit to them. Anybody can twist statements in a way that will give certain implications that weren't even intended.
