Dear Friend...Servos either work or they do NOT and as they are NOT hard bolted to the Valve body and in place with Orings there will always be some movement.second if you were to have removed all but the back bolts you could have slowly drained off most of the trans fluid and angled the pan into a drain bucket...who told you there was anything wrong with your servos ? AAMCO ???? Thats why I don't take anything I own to Retard shops I don't care how many shoulder patches they have on PERIOD..
Hi Buddy, I have a 93 ford Truck E-350 1 Ton Econoline - Van and something happened with the transmission (automatic), full fluid level its OK but when into 1 and 2 .... the truck runs good but for 3rd and 4th the RPMs go up and up (foot on gas accelerating), but the truck doesn't speed up .... i'm stuck on 1st and 2nd...
i have a gn with a 200r4 with a bad solenoid and im leaking up towards the main seal but still have good crisp shifts but no lock-up in 4th so im burning more gas and premium too. any suggestions?
Ay i have an 95 impala ss & my 1st gear is good but going into 2&3 is dragging....was that the case with your truck? 1more? is there an difference between an 94impala ss 4l60 & the 95 4l60?
@imstr8642212 I am sure they are different but if they are not changing then i would do it it it was really not hard at all. and it should fix all the problems
You can disconnect the tranny line hook a hose to it and run it in a bucket. Start the car and the tranny fluid will shoot into the bucket. Then when you drop the pan no fluid will spill.
Great video. My z71 needs the 1-2 shift solenoid and was quoted $120 to install just the solenoid. But the mechanic said since my truck has 180k miles he'd recommend rebuilding it completely. My tranny has never had issues before this though so i doutb its completely done. Did you have any further issues after installing this? My Silverado is a 1999 with the 5.3 and 4L60E.
@nomercy3000 IM NOT A a transmission guy so i cant help you there but mine was going into first gear and the next just very akwardly and it was an easy fix.
@zave1525 i was strapped for money but what all else did you change and did you drop your whole tranny? i just replace the fuel pump as well what a pain that was...
@supertiger72 yeah i dropped the tranny. the fuel pump ain;'t that bad. and i home make a lift kit and use some new camaro z28 rim and 31x10.50 and other stuff
If the solenoid was loose what's happened is the ALUMINIUM case has been worn by the STEEL servo pin. The valve will loose hydraulic integrity and most likely cause a flare. Reaming the case and inserting a bushing will make sure you don't see this car again.
Yep.. AAMCO (beep F'n beep) is a big rip. I have been a transmission rebuilder for 40 years. Their policy of getting the customer to sign that piece of paper saying "we will take out your transmission, get it all apart and then give you a price" is a total scam. "and if you don't like our price, you are only responsible to pay the $485 for the teardown". It's funny how the price they give you is approximately $485 higher than any other shop out there and then some. hmmm?? (cont)
@HOTFORDGUY1 I just replaced the solenoids/fluid/filter in my 4l60e tranny and upon draining the fluid I didnt see too much metal in the pan, however I am shifting from first into third at about 4000 rpm. I have lost second gear but other than that the other gears are fine... any suggestions?

THERE ARE TWO SELENOIDS CORRECT? HOW DO YOU KNOW WHICH ONE IS THE 1-2 OR THE 3-4 ?
