seems like a beautiful country, i am an Afghan expat in Malaysia right now, maybe going to visit singapore soon but could you tell me what animal it is at 2:36, i got to see it ( if it exists ofcourse).
Reading these comments made me very irritated that people who doesn't know anything about Singapore pointing out all the FALSE accusation about them. Even if you think that the rules are strict, they are. But without them, Singapore will not be what it is today. Everybody should follow guidelines and do what is right. The Government does apply strict rules to control people that eventually benefits them and the country at the same time. Freedom may be limited but its a growing pain.
It all looks so clean and happy, but don't forget that underneath it all is a cruel, repressive and barbaric justice system. They WILL beat you in public (i.e. caning) for minor offenses, a practice which has been abandoned by almost every other civilized nation in the world.
Also there is mandatory drug testing for EVERYONE (i.e. no privacy) and a MANDATORY DEATH SENTENCE for larger drug offenses. They especially like to execute foreigners.
@ShimmeringStar91 ok maybe you're right the caning doesn't happen in public, but it's still a despicable and brutal practice. If you support it then you should really watch some of the graphic videos of this and see how horrible it is.
However I will disagree with you about executing foreigners. The punishment is the same of course, but you are more likely to be convicted by the court. This is because Singapore feels like it needs to prove something to other countries by executing our citizens.

If all that beauty requires you to submit to heavy gov't censorship, public caning for minor offenses, mandatory drug testing, mandatory death sentences for non-violent crimes, is it worth it? Indians are the best English speakers in Asia. They are capable of imitating the British accent. @minghan05 ohh yea. i remember what our singaporean tour guide told us about the scarcity of natural resources there but u know what, ur history & how u guys made it to become one of the world's most developed nations r truly inspiring. how i wish r president would learn all about these things. here in the country where i live is rich in natural resources but the gov't doesn't seem to take much advantage of it nor protect it as there continuous illegal logging, destroying aquatic resources, etc.
i was there 2 weeks ago & it really is a nice place to visit & ur right in saying all of u have decent houses & even the extremely poor people still have a decent place to stay in, though they rent it but still far better off than slums. the tour guide told us that even HM Queen Elizabeth even visited one of the flats in the public housing there & she found it very nice. but i have to comment on one thing. singapore is a very famous country & in fact i saw many foreigner tourist in ur country.
There is one squirel who continues to live there year after year..If you buy an ice cream cone and sit at the picnic table he will be found sneaking up onto the table and will act koi till he is close enough, then grab your ice cream and run Haha it is funny. I buy the ice cream just for him.. He uses the koi technique due to his diete of ice cream, hes not as fast as he used to be.
