  • Compo is not dead, because he lives on in our hearts.

  • I live i France and have Sky (did i say that) I watch and have for many yeras every episode wonderful, honest, very clver casted, show.

Britsh script writers take a bow!!! super ,clever humor, with life. (coronation street please attend classes here) Bil and Kathy rest in the gentle peace of Yorkshire, thank you

  • First I get goosegumps, then the tears come

    See ya Compo

  • I don't nomally mist up at tv shows. But every time i see this episode i always get a teary. RIP Compo.

  • Damn, this always makes me cry/

  • Gawd did I cry when I see this episode

  • this is a great send off to Compo. Clegg his long time friend gets to say his goodbye. What is also special is that all the main cast are there to pay thier respects. Even Nora his 'enemy'. As previously said you can tell people like Peter Salis aint acting not just in this episode but the 3 that deal with his death. What I also like is that in the 3 episodes all the males seem to be in black tie. A quality send off for a quality actor. The show is still funny but the visual humour is gone

  • when they showed this on the telly, i cried, when the news of his death i cried, but shobbed my heart out when they showed the show when he died rip conpo,

  • Can't help but tear up when i see this. Compo is within us all. Rest well son, and you're so much missed.

  • R.I.P

  • it was not that it made you laugh every 5 secs but the way in which it made you laugh and just went about things in general just filled you with a warm calm feeling and you had a real connection to the caracters like no other comedy this was a fitting send off to a man that gave us all so much happyness to so many people RIP compo you will always have a place in my heart

  • Very sad and very touching.

A cast of which can never be replaced as they are the cream of British televison.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Respect to all

  • I think Bill Owen's death hit them all hard, especially Peter Sallis. Not surprising considering most of them had been working together for nearly 30 years. A lovely, although incredibly sad, piece of TV history. Thanks for uploading :)

  • @Trayusstudent1 tommorow the very last episode of last of the summer wine we be broadcasted on the bbc

peter sallis was one the very first episode and tommorow he we be on the last

  • u can tell they r not acting when they all take there hats of for him especaly clegg

  • @MrUtubemytube at the end when all of them take there hats off u can tell they r not acting there as well

  • absolutely gr8 episode "See ya Compo"

  • this is so sad n who is alive from she show

  • cybermen100 Compo died of cancer mid-series. So Roy Clarke the writer had to do three scripts covering his death and funeral, and he had to write them over a weekend. he said that they were some of the best material he's written. A good book to get is Last of the Summer wine by Richard Webber published by Harpercollins. It has the best scenes jokes and memories from the cast and crew. A great book...

  • I remember when this episode first aired, can't believe it's been 10 years since it was first shown on British TV, seems like only yesterday

  • thanks for uploading this very moving episode.

  • i defy anyone not to shed a tear wathing this

  • The most beautiful and everlastingly thing I've ever seen on TV...."See Ya Compo"

  • bbc have axed this after 37 years. it's just not the same without the originals, but it's the memories they left that will last a lifetime. always a joy to watch, made me laugh loads. old school is cool!

  • This is so beautiful,it is such a nice tribut to both Bill owen and the character of Compo.

  • did he did in the episode or during the recording of the episode

  • poor aul compo ;(

  • How moving. A great send off to a wonderful character -and- a great man. Did anyone else notice how, when the people were leaving the hillside, it made the shape of a heart? Not sure if that was on purpose, but it was beautiful.

  • what is a compo?

  • @HighbirdHumphrey Compo was the name of one of the stars of this show. His actor Bill Owen had passed away from Pancreatic Cancer so this was their way of saying GoodBye to Bill and Compo

  • thankyou, nice show we dont get here, love the music and the green of england

  • @HighbirdHumphrey You're welcome. Take Care.

  • i couldnt help but just weep like a baby when i saw this.

  • I was a crying wreck watching this at 10 years old. still gets me going now.

  • Where is the entire episode?

  • Long live Compo. This is one of the best shows I have ever seen. I think of Compo as my friend and it hurts to lose a friend. I will put my wellies on and get through it. Compo is within us all.

  • @BudStv23 Go to Holmfirth and visit Compo He's buried at the church there Only grave I ever saw with two stones . Go and Visit an experience I am a Proud Yorkshireman ! have been !

  • I could not say i don,t but its been a while since i have been ill have to get back up again.

  • god bless Bill Owen i have walked past here many a time as i only live in Wakefield and try to visit Holmfirth as much as i can R.I.P Compo

  • It must be sad going to visit his grave as isn't he buried in Holmfirth cemetry? I suppose he must have lots of flowers added to his grave most days by fans. You say you live in Wakefield. Do you know Mark Walker?

  • I visited Bill Owen's grave when I stayed in Holmfirth in 2005. There's a memorial to Compo too. Yes, it is very sad. Bill/Compo was a great man, who was almost like a Grandfather to me.

  • @sgmack1969 Is it true the house where the character Compo lived was actually turned into a Museum?

  • Yes, it is.

  • I cry every time I see this. My fav show of all time.

  • i got upest when i first saw this even now it still makes me upset, compo will be greatly missed xxxx

  • Very touching! It is amazing that one can get so attached to a character in a sitcom....but I loved Compo...I love the series, I guess it is because since I am getting older I can identify with the theme of it....Thanks to Roy Clarke for writing all the scripts....with out him there would be no series.

  • Truly really came through in this one. Thanks for sharing it with us.

  • I am so thankful you put this up. am crying now as i'm typing this. this was well done. A true credit to compo, how much he was loved. good bye compo...

  • That choir in the credits music always chokes me up.

  • cheers awesum

  • Thanks very much for adding the last few minutes of this episode. I've longed for this one for a while. It could be years by the time UK Gold put this on TV. Even then I doubt they'll add it to the TV because it might upset poor Bill's son Tom Owen. Excellent work mate.

  • @bradleymanor

Just saw this episode on UK Gold (now G.O.L.D.) this morning.

  • wow thanks so much for this. such a lovely ending.

  • Thank you mate, my ending lacked these last few minutes, you could say maybe the most important in the movie, once again thanx mate

  • Oh, you are a God-send Geodieboy56 :)

Thank you so much. I have been longing to see this part since I first saw it on tv. It brought tears to my eyes, again T-T
