Nice. I'm going to buy one of these Eee PCs (exact same model and color as your, by the way!) as soon as I have enough money to spare (very poor right now :P) and I intend to install FLP on it as well.
I have a question. How well do Youtube videos play on your Eee? I've heard that Youtube can be a bit slow on them, and Youtube will probably be the most resource-intensive thing I do with it.
I have the same eee with fresh FLP. Great choice for the operating system. Youtube can lag it a bit, but usually it's fine. The really high quality videos dont go well. But honestly man I don't like the eee 701. The hard drive is tiny and cpu sucks. I'd go for one of the newer netbooks; much faster.
Its by no means my main machine or even my main latop. FLP is a great system for this netbook. If you haven't done it already install eeectl is an over clocker to bring it up to the ful 900mhz. Also do the hack to use a non standard resolution and run it at 900 x 540.
I found that makes my life easier with it and since it does use SDHC the storage isn't even a issue since I have a 8 gb in there.
FLP is available only to microsofts enterprise clients. I got my copy through my previous company but you can find it out therein the p2p's if you look. It's not really legit that way but it is out there. Look for torrents or on emule.
Okee tnx, I was wondering. I have had installed FLP on an old pc, and i always had to press Ctrl+alt+del to login, how did you disable that?
I Ordered a Black 4g Surf a few hours ago btw. Seince i live in the netherlands, and its not officialy released here, i'm very lucky to get one before release:D
I didn't really do anything special. Its a clean install of Windows FLP. I formatted it, installed it, then installed the drivers,a few apps and thats it.
I attribute the speed to the fact that its an SSD rather than an HD, and that FLPis designed to run on legacy machines with Win98 specs.

I used powertoys tweakui from microsoft and it automatically logs in. of course, now I have trouble remembering the password....
