  • Wspaniałe legato w części Piu Mosso, szczególnie zachwyca przy takim tempie.

  • I admire Grigory Ginzburg as I admire Heinrich Neuhaus. Both had a great musicality with a very intelligent technique producing a sound of great quality with a perfect legato . And there is a human image of the world they represent in complete contradiction to prokofiev kabalevsky and so on....

  • Listen to Grunfeld (available on Youtube) and Hofmann's perfomances. This is how the piece should sound authentically

  • all the analysts should just shut up and listen to the music...how it flows...ah the golden age..acoustic, warmth.....beautiful!

  • It's not too fast, but it's a little faster than he actually played it, as the video's pitch is about a half-tone sharp.

    Never-the-less, a great performance.

    Thanks for this treasure.

  • thats really true! the quality that time was much better than todays pianists. i remember goldenweise, ginzburg, godowsky, rachmaninov, prokoffiew, bartok, hofmann, horowitz, backhaus, kempff, gieseking, haskil, lipatti, francois, neuhaus, richter, gilels and and and.....

is it because of the stupid international piano competitions? compare it with lang lang, yundi li, mitsuko ushida.....................

  • Have we found an anti-asian? I think we have...and you forgot Cziffra and Rubinstein two of the greatests along with Horrowitz!! What an omission from you mister I know everything!

  • And when we come to the matter of technicity at the keyboard, let me hesitate when I hear that Hoffman was practically untouchable...many mistakes in his playing unfortunately. Now listen to Yundi Li performing in Chopin competition and do find a single mistake, than tell me. Pff!!

And I am honnest since I really reckon that Kempff, Richter, Cziffra and many others are geniuses, great great talents even greater than some contemporary but stop talking hogwashes about so or so...

  • Hamelin, Ashkenazy, Argerich, Kissin, Li, Perrahia, all modern artists, would certainly not play that piece too fast as Ginzburg does here...but anway there have always been geniuses and great performers, but I notice you mention 3 Asians (I am a european by the way) so let me inquire why!

  • I am interested in quailty only, nothing else! I do not care ethnic backgrounds. Am I an antisemit if I would not like Horowitz (who is my hero by the way) or rubinstein? Am I a rassist if I do not like the black André Watts? You are European? Oh yes, forgot to tell you: I am against European because I critisized your stupid comment! ha ha ha

  • Well I never said that but only got startled that you only mentioned asian people exclusively...Well when I take care to write a constructive comment, do take time to read it please :)

  • first time in my live i see ginzburg in real

since my childhood he was a legend for me

    we can see here why

  • なんという自然な美しさでしょう!ショパンが歌っているような。ありがとうございます。
