Jim get you a spade bud. You're gonna reach in one of those holes one day with your bare hands and grab ahold of one of those beers cans and it is gonna rip one of you fingers clean off
Your detector has you digging cans? With my MXT pro, an intact beer can sounds like a car door and overloads. Plus, since more often than not, it is only about 1-4 inches and while pin-pointing it shows as 0 inches so even if I was willing to dig car doors I realize after the first 3 inches and still not digging deep enough that it is a huge target. Only time I dig those cans is when I am completely clearing an area of ALL targets to get deeper/smaller signals.
@aarongriffin81 You know anything about hunting salt water beaches? This shot at high tide, the line where small gold might be was under 6 feet of very cold sea water. I was hunting the high banks, the storm deposits where you might find large shipwreck items, since the island was settled in 1680... Don't assume everyone else hunts for the same things you do.
@roadkillscjim I understand digging alot of junk looking for small gold. But if you are looking for huge shipwreck items larger than the typical targets, look back at 5:23 and explain why you left a treasure chest full of bullion? Just wondering why you dig cans looking for "Large shipwreck items" then skip a big item because you are convinced its a big item. I wasn't assuming you look for the same things I look for, I don't look for big items and skip big items when I find them.
On days like this when I'm on the high dry bank a sand scoop is useless. The little triangle tool does a VASTLY better job cutting though the odd patch of roots or hard pack shells.
I look at it this way: I'm going to be out enjoying nature anyway, might as well swing a detector & have a chance at finding some treasure.
and when I go to the beach " I'm metal detecting for loot & treasure" sounds a lot better then "I'm a dirty old man checkin' out all the half naked hotties"
HAHA Greeting from Russia !! Nice hunt !!!
