I got it recently, awesome camera, it is very basic, manual zoom, but for making clean natural photos is more than sufficient, but have to know some things about photography to make full use of it, if not, it has automatic mode, battery life is amazing, watch out for the memory card xd-picture is tought to get, as only 10mb of internal memory,
I see so many European s6500fd with hots spots problems...with sunny days at low iso... specially in spanish sites or forums...But i didn't see this trouble in the american version (s6000) for now.
The truth is: This camera have the best CCD on the compact market. Better camera than Canon, sony, olympus...an special...are really better than the noise and expensive Panasonic FZ50/ Leica V-Lux1...and little wrotrers... ;)) Sorry my English!

i read that S6500 has problems with hot spots on night shots, while S600 (model for USA market) is better quality and doesnt have hotspots.
