Matt Barlow is my all time favorite vocalist, it really is neat to hear his voice in a song outside of metal, in this song he has a beautiful voice. Granted there are some Iced Earth songs where his voice could be considered to be beautiful, but they were still metal, and his voice was nothing like this.

@biba41love I believe that this song was written for the mother of the keyboarder who died years ago. His name was Jonah and he put something up about it on here a while back. This song reminds me of my deceased loved ones, I lost 5 last decade and this song is comforting to listen to.

Same thing for me! I saw Iced Earth last Friday in Luxembourg where they played in front of a thousand people... I was in the front row, and Matt Barlow, despite having had a bad day, as he made the fans understand after the show by being a little bit prudish (but I forgive him :) ), gave a brilliant performance as ever! I hope he will stay and tour with Iced Earth, and even perform with Pyramaze, who don't tour anyway...

There needs to be more power metal ballads in any band that moves you deeply. Being selective about my ballads, this goes 5th on my ballad compilation. The only problem with this song is that they should of stop the song at 2:42 because then, it just drags.

Actually, I tend to agree. I'm an avid Iced Earth fan, but the ballads do sound kind of repetitive. They aren't bad by any stretch of the word, but they do tend to sound somewhat the same.

i agree with bluton78, iced earth is gonna have a hard time topping this album. i own the new iced earth ep and doesnt come close to this record. i dig iced but schaffer should have kept tim owens (who is awesome) and matt stayed with pyramaze. matt could have elevated pyramaze to iced earth proportions within a year. then they could have gone on tour with each other...imagine that!!!

this is a beautiful song in all areas from the meaning of the lyrics to the music to matts volcals. the entire cd is good 5 stars. its too bad matt isnt going to stay with pyramaze but atleast iced earth is still there and we still get matt barlows volcals with them anyway. hopfully their comming up cd will have some melodic stuff on their like this. but I seriously dout they could top this one. thank you for posting this song. if you are new to pyramaze or iced earth check them out.
