I have raced 3 z06s. a stock 455 rwhp z06 that put two car on me by 130 mph when 8 was 457 rwhp.
a 495 rwhp z06 that put a car on me when i was 475 rwhp..
and recently ran a 500 rwhp z06 in my 500 rwhp viper. i had a passenger and he didnt. i won a race. he won a race and we tied one.
from my experience it seeme that stock stock for stock the z06 is faster but as both are modded the viper gets faster..check out my vidz for my viper against z06s
I own a 03 viper the z06 dosent trap 6 Mph higher. the record for a stock 500 hp viper is 124 mph and 128 mph for the vette. still a ass whooping but within reason. on average the viper will hit 121 and the vette 125. as far as the 600 hp vipers they have hit 131 mph stock and average 128 mph. so if the vette hangs with the 600 hp viper than the 500 hp viper hangs with the vette. it can be both ways
A stock z06 kills a viper especially an older viper like this one so either this video is fixed or the guy in the vette is not trying.It should not even be close.I own an 07 z06 and i absolutely murder any pre 08 viper its not even close .

you need to do your homework before talking. they only made rts till 96 when the gts came out but they still offered an rt10 with the updated engine wheels and rear exhaust. you could get an rt10 a gts or an acr in 2002.

I am the owner of the Viper and good friends with the guy in the Z06. Both cars were dynoed. Viper mods, aluminum flywheel, roller rockers, headers exhaust, K&N, 3.73 gears.

The 2008 600HP Viper only costs 85K. The ZR1 will cost AT LEAST 110k, but trust me you won't be able to get one for less than 130k, if not more.
The 08 Viper is the new best bang for the buck. With just an exhaust they are making 600 to the WHEELS. Now, put a S/C on it like the ZR1 has and the Viper will make nearly twice the HP of the ZR1 and it will still cost less.

There were three races. You picked the one that we owning the cars felt was a draw. At that speed the Viper is still pulling in 4th gear and the Vette shifts into 4th. The Vette falls back immediately one length. This is why we called it a draw. Furthermore, the vetter does make up the length at 150 mph. Like I said, 3 races, at different speeds instead of just one. If they were to run from zero to 150 mph the Viper would have the edge. From 50 - 150 the vette has the edge. Motor to motor.
Not true. The Viper is a 2002 model. If you know your facts the 2002 Z06 had 405 horsepower this 2007 Z06 has 505. Apples to apples the 02 Z06 doesnt stand a chance. Furthermore, both these cars are recent purchases and the Z06 in this video cost 24000 dollars more than the Viper. Kind of sad still? You can take a beater for 3 grand and spend 10 grand more and wax both these cars but thats not the point. I dont imagine you would understand.

the rt was dicontinued in the 90s man. in order it went rt, gts, gts acr, srt, srt acr
and when the srt came out it always had 100hp over the vet for each year they came out, c6 had 400 some odd hp, so the viper would have 500hp
then the z06 came with 500hp so the srt10 bumped it up to 600hp
thgen the zr1 came out so the srtacr came out and took it on the track. pwned

you need to do your homework before talking. they only made rts till 96 when the gts came out but they still offered an rt10 with the updated engine wheels and rear exhaust. you could get an rt10 a gts or an acr in 2002.

It's obvious that the Vette is late 2000's model, 06 or 07, but that Viper body looks like it's mid 90's... so old school Viper vs. new improved Vette... that's what I thought. I'd still take the ferocity of the Viper any day, but the Vette is a great car and has been since the mid 50's.

I am the owner of the Viper and good friends with the guy in the Z06. Both cars were dynoed. Viper mods, aluminum flywheel, roller rockers, headers exhaust, K&N, 3.73 gears.
Z06 long tube headers, tune.

Actually the Vette is modded more than the Viper. This Vette makes 537HP while this Viper is making 525HP.
The Viper is faster because of superior gearing on a superior platform.

The 2008 600HP Viper only costs 85K. The ZR1 will cost AT LEAST 110k, but trust me you won't be able to get one for less than 130k, if not more.
The 08 Viper is the new best bang for the buck. With just an exhaust they are making 600 to the WHEELS. Now, put a S/C on it like the ZR1 has and the Viper will make nearly twice the HP of the ZR1 and it will still cost less.

BMW m6 = 51.1 sec
Gallardo SL = 49.9 sec
GT3 (regular) = 47.5 sec

And Go check their results on the Nardo, as soon as there is a small angle (30 degres angle on the steering whell) the Z06 falls back miserably ,it was the slowest to 300km/h beatten by the 3.6 liters GT3 and the heavy ass gallardo superleggera (3450lbs) Not impressive at all, the SRT10 on the other hand never Saw the 300km/h on that test.

There were three races. You picked the one that we owning the cars felt was a draw. At that speed the Viper is still pulling in 4th gear and the Vette shifts into 4th. The Vette falls back immediately one length. This is why we called it a draw. Furthermore, the vetter does make up the length at 150 mph. Like I said, 3 races, at different speeds instead of just one. If they were to run from zero to 150 mph the Viper would have the edge. From 50 - 150 the vette has the edge. Motor to motor.

Not true. The Viper is a 2002 model. If you know your facts the 2002 Z06 had 405 horsepower this 2007 Z06 has 505. Apples to apples the 02 Z06 doesnt stand a chance. Furthermore, both these cars are recent purchases and the Z06 in this video cost 24000 dollars more than the Viper. Kind of sad still? You can take a beater for 3 grand and spend 10 grand more and wax both these cars but thats not the point. I dont imagine you would understand.
