Playing bad character (Caesars Legion to be specific) closes so many doors in front of you. You get to have less companions. One of them don't want to have anything to do with legion and one will leave your group because of main quest event you cannot do anything about. Certain companion quests require you not to be hostile with the NCR, yet none of the companions require you to be evil or caesars legion member. Many quests cannot be started if you are hostile to NCR. NCR has most content.

@DonnZ0r Originally, when Ulysses was a character, he was going to be a Legion companion. He was going to be a Frumentarii with a big hard-on for the Old World and was only with the Legion to make sure they weren't going off the handle/spying on them. They cut him because he was way too involved with the plot.

You know why Fallout 3 had no actual Fallout in it? - No believable and captivating storyline and worthwhile characters, and Fallout is all about story and characters, Fallout 3 was like a lame rubber ducky, a trendy and a very well made, but at the end of the day still lame.

You know why New Vegas is better?

1.It actually feels a bit like Fallout.

2.Characters there actually have personalities.

3.Story is witty, captivating, and makes sense.

@fiode831 Fallout 3 took a lot of the "cool" elements of the Fallout universe, like the Enclave and Brotherhood, but took them to over-the-top extremes with no concern for how well it fit into the canon of the series. No, it's just, let's have a giant Optimus Prime robot and a mini-nuke launcher because Bethesda's full of man-children. Even when I had to wear a specific cowboy hat to enter The Strip to prevent the game from crashing, New Vegas was so clearly a better Fallout game.

NCR is. They have old world values of Democracy and equality. Unlike the Brotherhood friendly Super Mutants and Ghouls are actually accepted. Even in the military. They're just trying to make the wasteland a safer place.

@seanthamaster Canada still alive although it got hit hard too. In the Pitt DLC for Fallout 3 the one guy mentions "Ronto" which is the post-apoc name for Toronto which is the Capital of Ontario... so we know that Canada is still around.

@Domunication The line between good and evil has always been a thin one throughout the Fallout universe. The NCR are basically just the Californian government and, according to the Van Burden plotline, actually waged war with the Brotherhood of Steel at some point. Mr. House's shouldn't really be thought of as a neutral faction, but more of a mobster-like organisation.

I really like how it looks like the differences between all the factions and groups really blurs the line between what is truly good or truly evil. Each faction has it's flaws and strengths, and it looks like this game leaves you in the gray, in a good way. You have to figure out what you stand for, and what you think is right.
