I think it just really depends on your preference and on the kit you get...I have a mineral foundation kit and they gave me a primer with it..The primer I got with my kit (Bare Escentuals) really helps with the shine since I have super oily skin. Then, after I apply the foundation I use the finishing powder to set everything, it kinda just makes everything look more flawless in my opinion. The finishing powder also makes it so that my face doesn't get shiny throughout the day. Hope that helps!

they have a brush cleaner/conditioner and I used that on my brushes and they were much softer afterwards. The soft focus face brush is super super soft. They are made like that on purpose tho to be used with their minerals.

I believe you are missing the point of mineral makeup. Its' excellent for those with rosacea, dryness, acne or other skin ailments and it won't aggrevate the problems further. it as it doesn't contain damaging oils and chemicals - in other words, it doesn't contribute to a breakout in the first place and will improve skin condition too

this is totally a duplicate of bare minerals.. which were the original company in mineral products. the "swirl, tap, buff" is their trademark and the brushes are EXACTLY the same. same with the "translucent" powder (mineral veil is theirs.) I really hope you can do a comparison video between maybe this product, Sheer Cover, and Bare Minerals.

I can't speak for Julie, but I personally purchased the full set (didn't order the buffer brush though) and I LOVE THEM.. Did one side of my face with sigma and the other with mac, can't tell the difference... they are AWESOME!!!

Yeah, I would wipe the brush clean on a tissue and then buff your skin again with the clean brush and it should buff away all the excess. :) I hope this helps!
Could you talk a little bit about the staying power of the mineral hygienics foundations? I need something that would stay on all day and my everyday minerals makeup is virtually gone after 5 hours.
The wearability is great and lasts all day. :) I have normal to slightly dry skin- so it worked well. If you have oily skin, you may or may not have different results. :)

if this is not your budget, Maybelline has Mineral Powder which is amazing.
It costs 10-13 bucks, I believe.
Its reaaallly good, I never used Mineral Make Up before, but for me - with my dry skin - it works great:)

Could you talk a little bit about the staying power of the mineral hygienics foundations? I need something that would stay on all day and my everyday minerals makeup is virtually gone after 5 hours.

The wearability is great and lasts all day. :) I have normal to slightly dry skin- so it worked well. If you have oily skin, you may or may not have different results. :)

i heard that it's from the same company, so im guessing it might be very similar. the brushes look just the same as the bare minerals ones...like EXACTLY the same.

Julie,can you post the ingredients, I was a bit taken back I called the 800 number to ask for a list of ingredients and their cusotmer service was really rude and did not answer my question. Can you post it for me to make sure I am not going to break out cause I break out with almost all minerals but I want to use it.

i have bare minerals and i love it. but they told me to you the powder brush for the whole application and then use the kubukie brush to blend everything in

I have a question though. Lets say you have some dry skin, like my cheeks and my nosesometimes get a little flakey,yet my forehead gets oily. is this the kind of thing that will really make it stand out because its a powder?

I wouldn't think so, but I think they have a guarantee on their products, so if it makes your dry skin more prominent you could get a refund.

I've never tried bare minerals- I've heard their brushes are really scratchy.
