Well this is DX9. Not DX10 so pretty much if you're running a low resolution, for the most part a decent GPU should be able to run it okay.

The HD 4890 is better than the 5770 in Games.

The 5770 supports DX11, but the 4890 can simulate DX11, because it supports DX10.1

The performance of the 5770 is in some games worse than a 9800GT. So I would go for a HD4890

the 5750 is comparabale to a 4850 and 5770 is about a 4870 if not about 10% SLOWER. However in crossfire the 5770 will beat a 4870 in crossfire by very little(3-8%) If you want to upgrade to dx 11 get atleast a 5850 if you already have a 4800series graphics card. I personally owna 4890 and it is currently overclocked to 1000/1200mhz and its giving me 153.6 gb of memory bandwidth. I can maxout crysis with a single 4890 at 1920x1200, however just get a dx 11 card(5850 or above)

Prototype is a interesting game -

Usually action games, like First Person Shooters, are more focused on GPU Processing power.

On the other hand, Real Time Strategies focus on CPU processing power (for A.I., and bear in mind I probably am speculating a bit).

Prototype is interesting is that is has even usage of GPU and CPU utilization.

Planning to upgrade to the 4890, I have a 19" Monitor here as well, although a more modest Dual Core (OC, but still not a quad).

Not really. Personally, my desk is small and getting a bigger monitor could prove to be a nuisance.

I might plan to get a second 22" or 20" monitor to go dual monitors, but other than that, I'm not too big on resolutions. I'm currently not working anymore due to school so it'll be awhile. In addition, I just want another 4890 due to fact that I've always wanted a Cross Fire system and a Dragon Platforming PC.

Wow Buddy!! Chill out!! It's called a budget when you build a system!! So what if he has a 19 inch monitor!! I have a 25.5 inch LCD with a radeon 4890 and it does't come cheap!! He is smart to get another 4890 for crossfire cause when he does upgrade his monitor, it will be able to handle higher resolutions on max settings. I know this because my monitor resolution is 1900x1200 which is higher than full HD. and one card has to work harder to support that with high graphics settings.

Well Roshawn, Im sure thats the way you would do it!! A bigger monitor is always better, but that comes at a price. My old 9800gtx+ could max every game out on my old 19 inch monitor, but with my new 25.5 inch monitor, it was a whole different story. That's why I just bought a new XFX 4890, but had to send it back cause it was defective. Get my new one tomorrow, so I guess we'll see!!! Never had an ATI card before, but with my AMD Phenom II Quad @ 3.5Ghz. it should be bangin!!!!!

i kno me too, and yeah it should boost you a little but make sure your cpu isn't holding you back, it will bottleneck your cards, but you should get like 10 or 15 frames more on some games but not every game.
