"Chemical imbalance", no such thing. People are not depressed because they have the wrong mix of chemicals in their body. If you look at your statement "that tells your brain to make you feel happy" notice that there are two nouns in that sentence, "brain" and "you" indicating two separate things. You are on to something here. Everybody knows what the brain is because you can open up a head and see one, but what is this thing called "you"? Could "you" be separate from the brain and even the body itself? Do you realize that every cell in your body has been replaced since birth, but its still the same you?

"Chemical imbalance", no such thing. People are not depressed because they have the wrong mix of chemicals in their body. That's so fucking bizarre of an idea and so wrong, why people don't reject that stupid idea is beyond me. And what a coincidence!! Even though there is NO science to support the theory, you can BUY the chemicals directly from the ones promoting the idea (at outrageous prices)!! WAKE UP PEOPLE.

look up "neurotransmitter". These chemicals influence A LOT of what we experience and their balance is essential to being a stable person.
Dopamine and serotonin are two of the main neurotransmitters that tells your brain to make you feel happy. A lack of them makes you unhappy. It's these neurotransmitters that drugs like ecstasy and cocaine exploit to make you feel unnaturally happy and euphoric.

If you look at your statement "that tells your brain to make you feel happy" notice that there are two nouns in that sentence, "brain" and "you" indicating two separate things. You are on to something here. Everybody knows what the brain is because you can open up a head and see one, but what is this thing called "you"? Could "you" be separate from the brain and even the body itself? Do you realize that every cell in your body has been replaced since birth, but its still the same you?
