I'm white and I agree wholeheartedly with this video. So many people, including me until recently, misunderstand and misinterpret the mechanics of the power structure and how racism plays into it. You can't be racist if you're in the minority group, the group being oppressed. You may be prejudiced, biased, what have you, but not racist. Racism, the word, is a description of power. Power + Prejudice = Racism. So many are angry though, I wonder if they'd feel better if they could spell?

Racism is a philophy that one race is better than another. Anyone can be a racists regardless if he's in the majority or minority. Minority and majority is based on numbers. Black people receive substandard education because a majority don't go to school. And the judicial system puts blacks in jail diproportionately simpy because they're black? or because they commit crimes? Is it possibly a misconception that housing, and schools etc. are just imposed against blacks? My children go to public schools, we live in a poor neighborhood, this is because I don't make 100,000 a year it has nothing to do with our race. I like to think that if my children get good grades in school and they stay out of trouble that they have as much opportunity as anyone else to obtain a good education and job.
