if this is the same Geiser I am thinking of it was built by the Geiser eqp. company in Waynesboro PA. I knew Bob Geiser grandson to the man that built those engines. Frick company which has many engines still running was also in Waynesboro and was across the street. The 2 companys were friendly competitors and even had a shared live line in a tunnel under the street so if either company had an engine failure they could both keep runing . The Frick company had a diesel engine /Geiser had steam
wow mannnnn... that steam tractor its so cool. it brings tears of joy to see this steam tractor it reminds me when america was young and the people were hard workers
Hi - These old things are just great. I have some old parts of my grandfathers that I would like to sale. Could anyone tell me where to sale them and how much they are worth. I am raising money for my son in college so I would sale them at a good price but I don't want to just give them away. Thanks
well, eBay is an option, just put it up with a good starting price and it wil only rise from there, look around for similar parts on the site to get an idea of the price. just an idea
Yeah thats what i mean the Engineering is good infact its so good its monstrous but they just dont seem to have the beauty that brittish engines have.
its even harder to get is to be that black with wood, just comes from the experience i have only with wood, never fired one on coal yet. i am at the antique gas and steam museum in vista CA.
@caterpillarnut The coal was pretty good, but the engine had been sitting idle so long that there were bare spots on the grate, and just some lumpy bits of fire here and there. When the decision to plow was made, there was no time to do anything but cover the holes and wait for the steam to come back up. Looks bad, but keeps the tubes from leaking. Look at the videos of the plowing with 20 plows, the stack is perfectly clear, even when pulling hard.
there seem to be something more special about steam than diesel tractors i still don,t no why

Filthy stack though, especially for the load it was pulling. How bad was the coal?
