  • Is there nobody who can post just the FP-blues guitar cover??? I mean without singing and not instructional??!!

  • johnny cash uses a capo on the first fret in this song - other than that, this sounds awesome

  • Thanks mate that's top stuff :) keep em coming

  • You have a great singing voice for this type of song, wish I could sing like that.

  • You are Absolutely Gorgeous(= haha

  • nice trailer hahahhaha

  • too loud!! forget that

  • Thank you quite much. I've learned my fave Cash songs thanks to you.

  • Hmmm... seems to sound MUCH better acoustic. But that’s just my opinion… doesn’t really mean squat. :)

  • good

  • No offense but people usually play it with the capo on the second fret

  • @mattvautour75 I've seen it without capo, with capo 1 and capo 2...

  • @mattvautour75 they do this because the pitch of the studio recording is off, but this is what was actually played.

  • You're hot

  • Bob Wooton Dosen't Play the lead like that!!

  • this is very good but really difficult without tabs because of the quality and speed:/

  • good vid, but please, please, please do a soundcheck vid to quit overloading the mic with your guitar/gain. great work though man...love your vids..,soundcheck

  • great vid. Thanks!

  • Cowboy thank you for making this lesson so easy to apply

  • So?

  • Great explanation on the solo man, very clear, very accurate. Thanks!

  • it's cool man ^^^

  • very nice lesson,I have a request for one..how about johhny cash..tennesse flat top box..love that one and cannot find a lesson on it..thanx much.

    keep up the great work..

  • John is a cool guy and he has impressed me with his willingness to tastefully, and with good instruction, teach us songs, and it is easier if u r a advanced player to just watch another guitarist and duplicate what they show you. I really appreciate John taking the time and effort to post these instructional videos and hope he continues wherever he may roam! thanks again John

  • lol i didnt realize you had a lesson on here for this song...i was just tryin to learn it n searched for it n ur video came up

  • Nice!! Better than the ones with tab!!!

  • nice

  • well done nice picking..and good work on the solo someone who plays it like luther did...

  • you should do a vocals tutorial to

  • I've watched a LOT of Folsom Prison tutorials on YouTube, and this one is the best. I couldn't find a tutorial that showed the solo as it's actually played. Great job! One question: on the strum pattern for the rythm, are you doing a down-up stroke, or a down and then open e-b?

  • i dont really like the extra pic at the start

  • I'm mainly a rock/jazz/funk bassist but I still am a big Cash fan. Love it. Great job. Spot on.

  • Sounds great! Makes me wish I had a guitar.

  • Thanks. I just have to figure out how to get my sound quality up to par.

  • I would recommend 30-50watt all tube amps, perhaps an old twin reverb by bfender or bassman 50 with 12 inch speaker cab.

I spent years chasing tone with every toy u can buy, and finally ended up with a fender blues deville. great tones clean or dirty. 50 watts gives u lots of headromm and great clean tones!

  • @cowboy4ev2 It sounds good to me, i can play it great thanks to you.

  • @auntbarb101 There's only one problem. It goes to an e7 before it goes to the A.

  • Good Job!
