Um yeah the sun is the giver of life to this physical world however true reality isn't physical it's spiritual. You are right that we will return to the source of what made us (not physically but spiritually) but that source is God not the sun. The bible actually warns us about sun worship. The sun is NOT the source of all life on the planet. You're clearly quite uneducated on how life came to be/works on this planet. Our planet just happened to form in the right position at the right distance from the sun at the right size for life to be able to form (through abiogenesis, I might add, no creator needed), and that's all there is too it. Any closer to the sun and the planet would would be a dry ball, any further and the planet would be too cold to support life.

But then again, the atmosphere isn't completely made up of oxygen, and there are mosses and lichens that grow in caves, without sunlight, that provide oxygen just fine. The magnetic field of the earth, which is provided by its core, is what allows us to have an atmosphere to house the gas mix we breathe anyways.
