  • are these available to the public

  • Rifle rocks man, army need to upgrade their caliburs, cant believe socom abandoned their orders for these.

  • @MrEastRyder

just the SCAR-L Not the H model

  • Please somebody tell me that dude didn't just load a live round into a grenade launcher INSIDE AN OFFICE!

  • @TheTrueRandomness oh, nevermind, should have looked at the bottom of the screen where it says "demonstration round only"... guess whoever edited this had the same WTF effect then^^

  • i cant wait to see it replace the m4. for the people who think its not it is same with the hk 416

  • @captainRex870 There are quite a few rifles that are being tested but there is a better chance of replacing the M16 DI gas system with the gas piston. that would be a cheeper solution but it would be nice for a change.

  • FNH gets an A from me for gun design and a big fat old F- for cost of accessories...

It royally SUCKS to have to pay $150 for a sling!!!!!

  • I first heard of the scar from Tom Clancy's ghost recon 1. Great game.

  • Isn't that the same bolt/carrier group from the G36 series of rifles?

  • CAMPER

  • That guy at the range said clip..... for GODS SAKE...

I LOVE the launcher... FN is the S**T

  • That MF said clip..... for GODS SAKE...

  • Nice piece.

  • i like the SCAR. mostly of the FN weapons i really look them as good weapons. i never shot even a 22 lr but i just have that sensastion. i imagine that in combat is very complicated because u have your nerves to 100 and u fight not only for your country u did for your people who protects you.but i think its a nice gun, probably better than the m16.

  • The SCAR... aka the fish gun :D

I was torn on whether to get a Bushmaster ACR enhanced or a SCAR 16. I think I'm going with the SCAR though. Seems like I'd break the damn ACR if I squeezed it too hard.

  • XM8 Shoulda won the challenge.

  • @acescouter1992 XM8 failed in every category, why should it have won?

  • @acescouter1992 The XM-8 performed well in the Army trials as far as stoppages go, main thing I dont like is if you want to use any other optics such as an ACOG, it sits way high above the bore, which renders the range bars on the ACOG inaccurate. Most carbine optics are designed to be used with a 2.5 inch hight over bore, where the XM-8's would be awkwardly much more.

  • @kawrx2002 The reason FN didnt get a contract with us is because they dont have the manufaturing to produce the MASSIVE quantity we need. And [arts and so on and so fourth

  • @ObviouslyBoredKid its also the price. O:

  • @tankshot009 Yeah but they were gonna sign the contract with them before anyone else...

  • this is such a badass assault rifle

  • who are these random civi's hes talking to hahah.

  • Id carry a scar light. I prefer lighter rifels.

  • @Limeisback2012 .... the wieght difference is minimal light refers to the round it uses.

Light = 5.56x45mm NATO(.223 Rem.) 20-30 round box mags I'm unsure if the C-Mag works with the SCAR-L. Oh and if you want to run MagPul Pmags carefully sanding the inside of the reciever will allow the use of any magazine but do it CAREFULLY!

    Heavy = 7.62x51mm NATO(.308 Win) I believe its 10-20 round box mags.

  • @rln1029 I've never had any problems with Pmags in this gun, except for when you use the grenade launcher, you have to use different mags. Maybe mine was a different version as there are several.

  • This is truly a spectacular rifel.

  • Great video!

  • u can get 30 round mags but theyre bigger

  • Can the scar-heavy have a 30 round clip or just the 20 round you? also can you also put that grenade launcher on the scar-heavy?

  • yes u can put an eglm granade luncher on ant scar in any caliber

  • no the bushmaster acr is the magpul masada, it may look similiar but the internals are not

  • what does he mean by generation 2 and 3 weapons?

  • the design features and components of the weapon itself and how they differ from now to a number of years of trial and error

  • ok thx

  • there are different levels of sophistication of weapons.

  • like the second model. This is a 2nd gen, so the cheekpiece has two positions, wheras the 3rd has three, and the stock on the 2nd has 3 positions, the 3rd gen has 6.

  • To my eyes, the FN SCAR looks like a cross between an M16 and the old FN FAL. The mags for the SCAR (Heavy) look like they came straight off the FAL, too.

If you were trying to design a 21st century FAL, this is what it would look like.

  • love the sound of the heavy

  • i cant tell the difference

  • no that was full auto he was just bursting the rounds or tapping the trigger

  • That's so beast.

  • Fuck. I want one of these so bad.

  • the gun is about 5000 dollars for a semi auto i call iridedarkstar's bullshit

    !!!!

  • Haha ok dude, call whatever you want. I dont need to prove something to some dumb cunt on youtube. And no, I dont do airsoft either bud.

  • i went to your page last night and watch ur review and ur right u have nothing to prove to me , just urself stop lying theres only about 10 for sale right nowin the whole u.s. their fetching anywhere from 5-8 grand a piece, just make a video of it:)

  • Just recieved mine.

    TWO huge flaws:

Unfortunately when using certain optics like an EOTECH, the charging handle (if placed on the right side) is not far enough under the optic to be effectively charged with your full hand. You can use your finger to push the handle back, but its very awkward. ACOGs mounted farther back have no problems.

Plus you shooters who grip the magwell may get a nasty bruise on your thumb because of the reciprocating charging handle.

  • other than that a is it nice?

  • i cal fucking bullshit on you buddy prove to us you have this rifle i want a video , and not ur airsoft faggy shit post !!!!

  • FNH XD lol fuckin hell XD lol its a nice gun though

  • Theres a rifle that'll see you through hell and back, the belgians know how to make one hell of a rifle, Scar H all the way!

  • I like the SCAR my only reservation is it cannot mount a bayonet so is not suitable for standard infantry use.

  • Use a knife a some ducttape and there's a bayonet for you!

  • it wasn't supposed to be the guy in the video even said it was designed for use by SOCOM

  • i think i just creamed myself a bit when i saw that you could use just the trigger mechanism and attach the 40mm gl to it...

  • I hated this gun, preferring a M14 EBR until i heard it had 87% parts commonality between the 7.62 and 5.56 versions. I tried it, and haven't picked up my heavy M14 again.

  • jezus who make this kind of weapons ?

  • the fuckin belgians

  • we'll take that as a compliment :)

  • I got a noob Q. Is the SCAR H commercially available? Hmm, FN FAL or SCAR H...

  • it will be in the future

  • I hope so...

  • me likes

  • The FN SCAR is my favourite weapon. It first reminded me on a G3 somehow but the point is that gun is a total new based on no other gun which was ever made before.

P.S.: Most of the new generation guns are braun like this SCAR aren´t they ?

  • yeah , the fn scar was designed from scratch , and yeah just like the hk xm8 it comes in a tan colour

  • ...its the real thing

  • Ha that guys a dumbass. did he not here the weapon firing?

  • i was JOKING i jus wanted to see wat people would say hahaha

  • what the fuck are u talking about

  • Im joking i jus wanted to hear wat people would say hahaha

  • very nice weapon, i like the standalone launcher option. very modular and its actually cheaper than the m4 kitted out.

  • HK 416 and 417 are allot better guns in my personal opinion, although i have not gotten the chance to fire a 417 yet i assume its just as amazing as the 416

  • The norwegian forces are facing out the G3 in favour of the H&K 416.. its the first country in the world that will issue it as a standard issue rifle, like the us forces does with the M16.. i will be trained to fire the 416 during my conscription time next year. im looking forward to trying it!

  • Does it do full? I assume it does, but...

  • He fires it on fully automatic in the video.

  • That was burst, not full auto.

  • The SCAR series isn't offered with a burst fire mode. The shooter is firing 2 to 3 round bursts on fully automatic.

  • very nice toy

i guess it's a little bit pricey as well

  • The HK416 looks a lot more reliable.

  • you can't tell how reliable a weapon is by its looks...

  • Uhhh.... haven't you heard of the figure of speech? Besides, the HK 416 proved that it was very resilient to almost every element. All the SCAR showed in this video is the disassembly, firing, and it's grenade launcher. Nope... I haven't heard the word reliable yet. Maybe because it has the same amount of reliability as current -gen rifles. And yes, you CAN tell how reliable a weapon is by it's looks.

  • In a recent test the scar xm8 and hk416 were compared. 6000 rounds were fired from each rifle in a high dust environment. The xm8 jammed the least with 126 stoppages the scar jammed second least with 226 and the hk416 jammed 233 times. It should also be noted that the m4 was used as a control. It jammed 800 some times. The scar jams less than the hk416.

  • 7 times less jams is nothing, you have to admit! Plus, the replacement of the M16 would be less expensive with the HK416, as only the upper receiver would be replaced.

  • this is designed for SOCOM not standard infantry

  • "you CAN tell how reliable a weapon is by it's looks" not really figure of speech, is it.. and you can't.

  • Uhhh, yeah, you can. You can compare weapons and see which is more suited for a task.

  • ... that's when you use them, or look at their specs... not by gawking at the outer shell. you really don't want to understand, do you... plonk!

  • i was likin the hk-xm8 but this looks nice too.

  • theyre like fckin toys!! O.o

  • modern modular weapons are just amazing !

no matter who the maker but FNH is certainly designing some nice stuff. i also like the SIG 556 and the FNH bullpups rock

  • That is one NICE rifle. I am salivating at the thought of owning one someday. No more Carbon in the action, yay! Left-side charging handle, yay! Modularity, yay!

Ergonomics, yay! 7.62x51 in a service rifle, FINALLY, yay!

  • FN SCAR yay! lol i agree!

  • I personally find the aesthetics of the SCAR vomit worthy, but whatever works...

  • I can't wait for it to fall under the ARMY since I wont join in 3 years.

  • and is it based on the m16?

  • It appears so but I might be wrong since the 7.62 might be a little different.

  • why would it appear so? FN weapons are usualy based on rpevios FN weapons, M16s don't come into play.

  • Not at all, the early prototype was based on the Belgian FN (as FN is a Belgian company) FNC, but the latter versions are supposedly conceived from scratch.

  • anyone know how many moving parts this rifle has?

  • i cant see how this is better than the XM8

  • 2 caliber choises! though the scar dosn't have as many configurations like support weapon or sharp shooter which the XM8 have

  • Actually there's a marksman 'sniperized' version, CQB and a support weapon version (new US program, seeking 30 rnds). btw the FN Minimi (SAW M249) is now also available in a Heavy version shooting 7.62NATO.

  • so that is replacing all military rifles or just speacil forces weapons??

  • Units that fall under SOCOM (Navy SEALs, Rangers, and Special Forces) You'll start seeing more of them in September 2007. The rest of the Army may follow eventually(They are still doing tests).

  • Everyone seemed so shakey and nervous...

  • i love it

  • nice weapon!!! amdextrious & interchangability between cqb/light & heavy rifle. however, after rejecting the 6.8 spc as overhyped marketing, i thought the u.s. would at least consider replacing that piece of sh^t 5.56mm with the 6.5mm grendel cartridge

  • the 5.56mm nato is the round dessided apon by nato for use as the standard rifle round. nato chose it cause the US had so many of them. now thats what nato's stuck with and the U.S.A. is a member of nato

  • Why not just stop the production of 5.56 and reserve it for the M249?

  • this weapon makes the m16 family look like shit, amazing weapon system.

  • youre totally right. Whats your take on the M16, from experience?

  • And, how old is the M16 family? If you consider it is around 40 years old, I am sure a lot of stuff looks better.

  • Nice vid.

  • there's 2 things we Belgians do *really* well, that's waffles and guns, now.. if we could just find a way to combine the two we'll be masters of the universe! ...

  • A WAFFLE CANNON!!!!

  • Is that like the Canadian's Chicken Cannon?

  • I'll take 10
